John Howard Bergseng

On February 27, 2010 Dr Bergseng saved my life. I had been admitted 4 days earlier in a different hospital. Dr Bergseng was filling in that day. Dr Berseng took the time to read my chart and review my scans and labs. He did not agree with the admitting diagnosis. He enter my room and asked me “Mayo or the U?” He immediately arrange the emergency transfer and called the admitting UofM physician to explain the situation. I awoke in ICCU at the UofM on a vent cover in blood. It was weeks before I was well enough for surgery and another 2 months in the hospital recovering. If Dr Bergseng had not recognized what was happening, I know I would have died. Dr Bergseng literally saved my life. Thank you Dr Bergseng for saving my life.
