Dr. Baker is a fairly new practitioner whose competency lies in treating 'generic' mental health issues, so if that's what you need, you'll likely be OK. The secretary was very nice, and it's great that everything is done through the online portal for convenience. A couple of days before my appointment, the doctor himself called and left a lengthy voicemail saying he'd call me the next day to discuss a referral out. I left a message with the answering service that went unreturned, and the doctor did not call the next day. The following day, I called the answering service again and the doctor did return the call to say he'd reviewed my paperwork and felt I needed a more experienced practitioner. That's fine. I certainly respect when a provider knows his or her limitations because many do not, but the problem was that he could not (or would not) provide a referral. Being told to go online and just browse through a generic list of providers is not helpful. He stated that since he's only been in the field a few years, he 'didn't know many psychologists'. There's a whole practice in the office. He couldn't ask a colleague for a referral? The lack of resourcefulness (or willingness to help) was frustrating, so we certainly wouldn't have been a good match anyway.
