Excelent doctor to my son

Still sorry we did not sue. He was playing golf and told us to take our child to the ER “if she’s in that much pain” was the message his nurse relayed to us. . It was not his fault that Quest Labs missed the easy diagnosis. But he should have asked for more lab tests. As we were told later it’s often missed and second labs is the next step. Instead he had our child go through a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy at 13 years old. And could barely be bothered to let us know the results. He was onto the next patient. My husband was furious. Of course he found nothing. And I’m not sure why as it was there. They did not tests that day? So— days later receiving his offices advice and after 13 hours in the ER (she was on morphine for hours that did not ease her pain) and ER doctor told her it was in her head (because Quests labs and Dr. Baker had missed every initially) we ended up at Children's Dallas at 4:00 am. By 6:00 am they had a diagnosis of Enteropathic eColi. Dr. Baker should have diagnosed this weeks earlier. Thank you Dr. Clifford Fong for your expert medical care of our daughter after a month of excruciating pain. And for taking it seriously. To add insult to injury. We wanted to switch doctors. And his office said we had to get permission from him to switch. Yes. Years later I’m not over the $30k we spent out of pocket because he could not be bothered with us. Still sorry we did not sue. Dr. Baker and his staff are the most kind Doctor and staff we’ve ever dealt with. He takes the time to listen to you, and I never felt rushed or that what I was saying wasn’t important to him which can happen in a lot of Doctor’s offices. He even spent time reassuring me that we’re doing everything right, and it felt so great to be heard and seen. I could tell he researched our child’s condition before meeting with us and was informed about it, helping us make the appropriate decisions together. I left the appt. wishing all of our appts. with other Doctor’s were like ours with him today. Highly recommend him to anyone who has a child with feeding issues! Dr. Baker and his staff are the most kind Doctor and staff we’ve ever dealt with. Would not recommend...Baker is a great guy but office staff and manager Cheryl Bellame ....I just do not have words. My daughter has been sick for nearly 8 months now, we were actively following protocol from doctor, medications, etc... and things were not letting up and so I sought a second opinion. Was told I needed the clearance so to speak from their office to stay within the network.... I spoke with Bellame and she was heartless. I am a single mom trying to make ends meet and depend on my mother taking my child to appts when I am unable to attend due to work. Bellame's whole response was 'you should be at your child's appt' and that was it. Needless to say, I hung up on her saying I am a single mom fighting daily to make ends meet..... I would NEVER recommend this office or any of their sister offices solely from this woman! How heartless!!! I will pray for you and pray for you hard Cheryl. Love this office and staff! Dr. Baker is sooo nice! Along with everyone! He is our sons pediatric gi and has such a way with children!❤

Dr. Baker is absolutely amazing!! He knows how to look at the patient and not just numbers.. he was able to help get our daughter off of the NG tube in 2 weeks when others had recommended placing a G-tube. We are so thankful to have found out about him and are forever grateful! I would absolutely more than recommend him to anyone, especially those with feeding issues. He’s very experienced!! Outstanding bedside manner, especially for my son who is very anxious. He explains things to the patient and not just the parents. Outstanding experience.

Dr. Baker is very knowledgeable and works very well with my 14 year old son. My son’s condition is chronic, and a good relationship with his physician in extremely important. Thank you!

Dr. Baker is a wonderful doctor! He is very friendly and kind. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. He took time with our daughter to determine what was wrong instead of just writing a prescription and rushing away. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

I arrived at my 3 o clock appt at 3:15. After speaking with nurse on the phone before hand, who assured me i could be seen if I was there by 3:15. However, my son was not able to be seen, and the nurse was uncaring about my predicament. I understand, that the doctors time is valuable.... however, had i been told over the phone that I would not be seen.. I would've rescheduled at that time. Instead of rushing to get there just to be turned away.

He listened to everything I had to say, took a complete history. He was compassionate and I did not feel rushed. He alao educated us, which many doctors do not take the time to do. I felt relieved. His nurses were also very kind and helpful.

This one of the few doctors that are competent, compassionate, humble and honest. He is not trying to sell you the next procedure. He is not trying to do complicated things. My son was extremely sick and had to be fed via gtube. Doctor Baker put my son on a very aggressive plan that got my son eating by mouth again. I have brought my son extremely sick from overseas travel and he was able to get my son feeling normal with one just visit. I highly recommend Doctor Baker. This one of the few doctors that are competent, compassionate, humble and honest. He is not trying to sell you the next procedure. He is not trying to do complicated things.
