Dr. John Scott Baird

I can can confirm the previous post about Dr. Baird is 100% accurate about his bedside manner, arrogance, lack of respect for parents and disregarding any of our concerns about our child's health. I know this from the experience I had in 2012 when my 8 1/2 yr old daughter died under his care.

My child was hospitalized at NY Presbyterian for a while regarding a serious health issue. Having dealt with several doctors over about 9yrs regarding my daughters health, I must say Dr. Baird has been one of the worst! He has absolutely no bedside manner, is arrogant and condescending among many other things. During rounds when coming into my childs room, he never spoke to the family....ever! During an emergency with my child regarding her not being able to breathe I requested a chest xray be done (my daughter has had a collapsed lung in past) and I also requested for a pulmonary consult and he refused, stating that he has written several papers on this???? several papers on what? And what does that have to do with anything. I had to call her pulmonologist at NYU who was actually VERY concerned about her lungs and had to have them call the hospital to speak with a different doctor to get anything done. My child has been going to NY Presbyterian from the age of 9 months but since my encounter with Dr. Baird I have been very reluctant to bring her back there out of fear she might be under his care in the ICU. Once Dr. Baird's work week in the ICU was over and another Doctor came in to take over, things went so much smoother, the new doctor listened and addressed my concerns and explained any new developments. How has no one complained about this doctor before? This was also my 1st time not receiving a survey after staying at the hospital for over a month.
