Saw Dr. Amrien on March 4, 2021. GREAT first impression. Seems to really care and want to help; however, on March 8, 2021, at 5:45 PM, I received a call from the office that my sugar was high and the doctor wanted to put me on Metformin. I've been a Type 1 Diabetic since August 2004. ANYONE who knows the difference knows Metformin will not work for me. After having anxiety regarding the matter overnight, I left Dr. Amriens office a message around 7:45 AM on March 9, 2021, regarding my concerns that my chart may not appropriately reflect the right type of diabetes I have. Furthermore, my chart should have indicated that I was already on Lantus and Humalog. Natalie returned my call at 10:42 AM and verified that my chart indicated I had Type 1 Diabetes, which lead me to question if the doctor had even checked my chart when he received the labs before prescribing me a medicine. Natalie stated that the doctor does not always pull a patients chart while reviewing labs. What happens when the patient does not know better and just takes the medicine? At the grimmest, death. Natalie didn't really seem to care as I pleaded with her to please inform the doctor of a flaw in his procedure to avoid issues with other patients as I will no longer be a patient of a doctor that can't take the time to review my chart before prescribing me a medicine with array of autoimmune disorders and rare conditions I have in addition to my Type 1 Diabetes. If I had a recording of my March 9, 2021, conversation with Natalie, I'd submit it for review by some type of medical board. So upsetting.

My Mom and I have been with him for over 5 years and we have notified him that he is not allowed to retire, LOL. It always seems that he can look at us and just know what is going on.

Alway able to fix any ailment

Dr. Amrien is the best, personable, knowledgeable, caring physician in Salem County. He doesn't pull punches and tells it like it is. If your ill he will fix it. Very dedicated to his patients. You may have to wait a while when you go to your appointment, but he and his staff are well worth the wait. The man is a blessing in disguise. I don't know how he does it, but he does. His staff is exceptional, warm, and caring. 10 out of 10, they are all 100's.
