This is hands down the best doctors off in the high desert. The office staff is always friendly and willing to help. In fact, they go above and beyond. The office is clean and Dr. Velasquez always takes time to answer questions. I’m so thankful as good healthcare is hard to find.

Excellent experience overall! Staff is the friendliest, most courteous, and knowledgeable around. Highly recommended!

I have been going to this doctor and he has not helped me nor, my mom with anything he does not care about his patients because I have many health issues and he doesn't want to prescribe any medications I need…. SO DONT EVER GO TO THIS DOCTOR

This Doctor, Nurse Practioners and staff work extremely hard for all their patients. I sure hope more people leave great comments about this office because it is run so efficiently by the manage Penny and under great supervision by Vanessa. If you haven’t experience the healthcare of Dr. Velasquez and staff, I highly recommend you switch your insurance to see them.

This Doctor and staff are the best in the HIGH DESERT! The staff is aware of and tries to stay atuned to each patients particulars and their needs. I just love the staff at this office and how friendly they are as well as very professional. I have recently left Kaiser as a patient, it seemed as though I could never see my doctor and when I did they wouldn't listen and didn't seem to care, With Dr. Velasquez the experience is completely different, he is Kind ,he listens,spends his time with me and my concerns and he and his staff are very responsive with all my needs and referrals. I could not be happier and more content with Dr Velasquez care and professionalism by himself and his staff. Dr Velasquez and his staff are a unique Gem in our area, they take care of business with a smile and kindness which was sorely lacking from my previous medical experience.

Don't waste your time with this Dr, he spends less than 4 minutes in the room with you. He is rude and will walk out of the room while you are still talking and just ignore you, the staff don't like it when you complain about them and make things harder than need to be. They passed my disability off to another doctor because they didn't want to do their job anymore up date 12-17 , now the dr won't even respond to the pharmacy to refill my prescriptions and he won't respond to social security to give them my records. I will be filing a complaint with the medical board about this he should not be a dr. They took me in last minute, literally the next day to clear me for surgery before thanksgiving!! Super sweet staff and very friendly dr. Definitely will continue to move forward with them.

This is easily my most favorite family doctor. Dr. Velasquez is wonderful, his staff is courteous, and he offers patients a NP to see us when he's away from the office.

Don't even bother here. The Dr takes forever to come in and when he finally does he spent less than 5 mins in the room. Doesn't address your concern. Even when it's your first time seeing him and not the nurse practitioner. And if you file a complaint about it, he has his office manager come out and tell you that maybe you should find a new primary care physician. And the office manager doesn't take her job very seriously, she was literally rude as can be and had a smirk on her face the whole time I was making a complaint. Then refused to give me the progress note from my visits. Been coming for years. Friendly and informative staff. Caring doctor. Up front and honest with you.

I am thankful for the this whole team. Especially during this pandemic they continue to see their patients. They really helped me out in my time of need.

I have been seeing Dr. Velasquez since 2015 and have also seen his NP Stephanie in more recent years. Both Dr. Velasquez and Stephanie give exceptional care. They listen to my concerns and make sure my complaints are taken care of. Their office is clean and centrally located. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and always willing to help. They have same day or next day availability almost every time I have called. Sometimes there is a wait, but it is worth it and honestly, if you're going to a doctors appointment, you should expect some type of wait time. Highly recommend this office. My visit with Velazquez was very perplexing. He was actually hostile to me. I tried to convince myself that he was just having a bad day, but that doesn't explain or excuse his behavior. He scowled, was short - tempered and so extremely arrogant. There are some good caring doctors in the Victor Valley. You can do a lot better than this A. H.

Made a phone appointment for 3 days from the day I called and I never heard from the doctor or the office on that day or since then. It has now been 2 weeks. I have tried to reach their office during “normal business hours” but the line tells me they are not in and to call back during “normal business hours.” Their walk-in appointments aren’t anything to call home about either. He is forthcoming in diagnosis. He has been the best Dr. for me and my husband here in the High Desert since we have moved here. Doctor is in to much of a rush to even get a question in edge wise. he is in the room for basically 2 seconds and gone. takes no time to listen. The staff is polite and I always get a call back regarding medications and referrals. sometimes they go out of their way to call me without me calling them. please take more time and listen to your patients Doctor Velasquez.

My 93 year old mother has been a patient of Dr. Velasquez for many years, and I have been involved as her advocate for at least 10 years. She now suffers from dementia and has been transferred from an assisted living facility to their memory care facility. In the month that she has been there she has fallen 6 times. The nurses have contacted Dr. Velasquez for appropriate restraint measure such as bed rails, and a bed alarm to alert attendants if she gets out of bed. These measures need a doctor's order. Doctor insisted she come in for an appointment for him to evaluate her. While waiting for the appointment, patient fell 3 more times,cut her head, and was seen in emergency. When I went into his office, to try to expedite the order, front office person insisted that we had to wait for the appointment. I became upset, and stated that "if she falls again it will be on Dr. Velasquez." He then had a person from his office call and tell me that he would not see my mother as a patient anymore because of my comment. This has put my mother's health, safety and life in jeopardy, since her health needs require doctor's orders. I believe he did not react in a way that was professional or served my mother's best interests. I have been a patient for almost 20years and receive excellent care. When I call, I receive a response the same day or at least by day two. If I have an issue with service, I let them know immediately and the problem is resolved.

Dr. Velasquez and his staff are amazing. Not sure why he’s only getting a rating of three stars when this man goes out of his way to take care of any patient that he has. I have had health issues in the past and he has directed me to the correct Physician that I Can handle my issues, he doesn’t stop until he finds out what I need so he can fix it.

He makes you wait too long he doesn't pay attention to you he comes in and out of the room within two minutes you have no time to ask him any questions he doesn't obviously look at your chart this is the third time he was going to prescribe me a medication I was allergic to now it's Friday I can't call till Monday he still has not refilled the prescription I need for my pain he's a horrible horrible doctor that don't care about his patients

Decided to switch from my doctor at Loma Linda to one closer to home. Was referred to him by a current patient. First appointment in December was not what I would consider an initial visit for a new patient. I spent more time with the nurse's aide going over my medicines, medical history, etc..than the doctor. First visit was about 5-7 minutes. The doctor ordered a blood test, refilled my meds and told me to return in 3 months. Returned in April for follow up. The doctor walks in the exam room, tells me a cou0le of things in my blood were high and he wanted to see me back in 3 months. Total time spent was about 3 minures. I couldnt even get a chance to tell him what was wrong with me befire he shuts me down and leaves the room telling me to wait. Five minutes later the nurse's aide tells me i am all done and can go. I returned in July and decided to time the total time the doctor spent with me. He checks my lungs and asked me if I needed any meds.Spent a total of 78 seconds with me on this visit, again not wanting to hear my issues and shutting me down before he walked out of the office on to the next patient. He collects my $50 co-pay and bills my insurance for a complete visit which lasted 78 seconds. He is the worse doctor ever. No bedside manner and no personality and to top it all off, even after paying your co-pay for the office visit you still get charged $5 for a prescription. One of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had with a doctor. I've handled and been present at dozens of my fathers medical appts until he passed and now am caring for my mom, so I've seen my fair share of doctors and specialists. Never have I been more outraged with the care received than by Mr. Velasquez. When questioned about his decision that went against three other doctors advice, he insisted I find a new doctor. Which granted is what I had planned to do, however, it made it very clear he isn't really to listen to his patients concerns or take the time to explain or justify his actions. It's a shame because the medical assistants that work there are very kind. They deserve better. His visits are short, dismisses your complaints, and really isn't in the business to heal. I have had very good experience with Dr Velasquez. He has found problems that the Army did not detect. His staff is very professional and caring.

Him an his staff have NO SENSE of urgency. They DO NOT care to call back and let you know whats going on..just a bunch of run around on the phone. His staff is lazy an if it wasnt for me calling them I'd have no answers about my condition. 'Priority' means nothing to them..just a word they throw around to try and keep you quiet!

He is a great doctor. He is straight forward and to the point. He is also theral,but somtimes he is in too much of a hurry so its best you have all your question and or conserns written down because when he leave your room he isn't coming back. It might seem like to left with the intentions of returning but I promise you he has moved on to the next patient, so be quick he isn't big on chit chat. He wants the facts. He appears to be very goal orintated. If there is a problem consider him, "on it." When he saw me in the hospital he explained everything to me and what the plan of care was going to be. He wants to know what your doing, and how your doing it when it comes to taking care of yourself. He isn't the hugging caring type. He is the type that wants to get down to business and get you feeling better. Good Doctor to have.
