Joel Vandersluis

My grades: the doctor is a 5*, the techs were 5*, but his supporting nurse/staff is 1*, so the average is 3*, imo. I found the doctor to be attentive and competent but his assistant (in messaging) was curt to the point of being disrespectful. For example, I requested her access to my test results, expecting similar to what I (& my wife) get from Kettering in 'MyCharts', but she practically refused or provided minimal records to my PCP; very disappointing. From experience, I am vary of health professionals who show or work under stress. I am however, fully satisfied with the doctor's expertise, and consider myself to be fortunate to have him as my neurologist.

Dr. Vandersluis is a great neurologist. He is very thorough and explains everything to you. He is very caring and always wants what is best for the patient.

Everyone there was very nice and professional.

I will say that the reception staff gets 5 stars for being so friendly and kind. The young black girl who did half of my emg gets 5 stars for being so friendly and upfront about the procedure. But Dr. Vandersluis gets 0 from me. I saw him three times and not once could he crack a smile towards me, even though I was managing to smile and be friendly through chronic daily headaches. He treated me with a condescending attitude as if I was too stupid to understand what he was saying. FYI, I hold multiple degrees from University, so that was just slightly annoying. He refused to allow me to express myself or ask multiple questions and cut me off on many occasions. He told me my loss of sensation was probably because of my diabetes and I DON'T HAVE DIABETES. I'm thinking he may have been looking at the wrong record or something because diabetes was never discussed. Needless to say, I will not be returning to see him, nor will I be recommending him to anyone. Just for the record, a little bit of a smile and a pleasant attitude will cure a lot of ills. I will say that the reception staff gets 5 stars for being so friendly and kind. The young black girl who did half of my emg gets 5 stars for being so friendly and upfront about the procedure. Joel Vandersluis and the staff have always been very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I was in very bad condition when I first went there but now I am so very much improved. I appreciate all they did for me and would recommend Neurology Diagnostics to others.

Dr Vandersluis was very patient and kind. He took the time to explain the possible side effects of the medication he was prescribing The staff was also very kind. I would definitely recommend this practice to others

Dr Vandersluis is the only doctor that has been able to make my shaking & migraines stop. Staff is great! They are so patient with my condition. I only wish the treatment was so painful! I don’t know what I’m going to do if he ever retires!

The staff is caring and very professional.

Dr. Vandersluis and his team did a great job to make sure I knew what was going on with my testing, treatments, medications, and setting up a plan for my care.

Long waiting times for appointments. I got shuffled around from room to room. Attendents were very knowledgeable with procedures and treatments. Facilities were clean and accessable.

Very thorough. They took their time with me, answering any questions I had. Very professional.

I have seen Dr. Vandersluis over many years. Every visit has been professional & time efficient. Though I HATE the necessary EMGs, Dr. V and his staff allow my four-letter superlatives to fly. It doesn't eliminate the pain; however, I feel better. Dr. V. does important work. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Vandersluis took time to assess my problem and schedule follow up tests. The EMG technologist, in house, explained what she was doing and made me feel at ease. The staff was friendly and efficient. I was pleased with my appointment.

Dr. Vandersluis is an amazing Dr. He has helped me in my journey with MS.

We were pleased with the professionalism. He also took his time with us, no rush. No long wait.

First visit. Excellent folks at reception. On-time appointment. Dr. Vandersluis has a great personality and bed-side manners. Serious about his craft but appears to have fun doing it. Very satisfied with his practice and the staff.

I experienced a warm, friendly atmosphere where I was treated with respect & patience. I went in with what I thought were two impossible conditions and after detailed diagnostic options & treatment my problems were no longer impossible; but now treatable. High praise to this team of professionals!

Everyone was extremely friendly, the place was nice and clean. I would have given them five stars but when I was left alone to get undressed and get up on the table I needed assistance and I had to find the stepstool to get up. Getting down was harder because the step stool was no longer there. I was afraid I’d slip & fall. That was my only complaint. Great staff. Had to hear some hard news. Dr Vanderslulis made it as compassionate and kind as possible.

I took my wife to see vandersluis and he came in looked at her paper work and said you have alot going on and walked out! This is not a doctor that anyone would want to see.do yourself a favor and find another doctor.

I saw Dr. Joel Vandersluis after having to wait a month after my telemed visit. He was the worst doctor I have ever seen! I have had tingling and numbness in my face for 3+ months. He tells me my labs are all normal and we're all done here. I pushed because thankfully I had looked at my x-ray beforehand and asked if physical therapy would help the fact that my neck was losing its curve. He said a physical therapist would know and gave me a suggested posture device. Then it was goodbye, all in under 5 minutes. So here I am having to pay this doctor money and I'm no closer to knowing why I'm having issues or how to fix it. He just wanted my money and didn't care one bit about me.
