I didn't find Dr. Solomon to be particularly concerned with answering my questions. Each visit was rushed. The wait was typically around 30 minutes. I found the prices for services rendered to be high given the amount of time I spent with the Dr. and the complexity of the process. Contact fitting experience: I have been a contact wearer for a decade and wanted to switch brands. The fitting fee at the Dr's office is $450! I understand that the fit of contacts is important; however, I have already worn contacts for years. When I asked why the fitting process was necessary, I was told that contacts are like shoes and everyone fits differently. I would have been happy to pay for a follow up visit if I had experienced any irritation. In addition, when I came in for my follow up fitting his staff had mistakenly ordered the wrong strength lenses so that we weren't able to assess the prescribed strength in our meeting. Dr. Solomon did not apologize and attempted to gloss over this fact. When testing which strength was best for me, Dr. Solomon was not patient as I tried to assess which lens made my vision sharpest. In total I spent no more than 10 minutes with the Dr. (equating to $2,700/hr). There was a separate charge for my eye exam. Overall, I am not making any comment on the competency of Dr. Solomon; however, his fees are high and his demeanor is unpleasant. If you prefer your Dr. visits to be comfortable and enjoyable you might look elsewhere. I am sure that at nearly $3K an hour there are plenty of friendly top notch doctors who can help you out.
