Joel Shebowich

Dr Shebowich has been my general care physician for approximately 20 years. He and his staff have provided excellent heath care with exceptional friendliness and professionalism. Can't imagine a better doctor or health care staff.

Excellent InternalDoctor who asks questions and then listens to everything you tell him. He attacks every problem right away and sets you at ease about yourself. He explains how we will work to get well and stay healthy. He is calm and friendly and involves you in the overall plan for your good health. Always returns calls and makes sure you are doing well or gives instructions for taking medicine and an exercise plan. He has been my doctor for 11 years.

Has gone down hill lately. Either overworked, does not care about patients anymore, ready for retirement, or real ego problem. Does not pay attention or address issues occurring with patients until they end up in the emergency room and/or hospital. This has happened multiple times. Changes medications that expert Doctors in the field have prescribed. General Doctor should Not override a specialized Doctor in that field. Very concerning when the hospital Doctors say they will make sure they will take over the healthcare part in that area. Does not work well with other Doctors.

I was fortunate to see Dr. Shebowich as a new patient. The scheduling process was easy and the staff on the phone was helpful. Once at the office, the environment and staff are warm and friendly. Dr Shebowich sat with me and gave me plenty of time to explain my medical history and issues. He did perform a thorough exam and then suggested numerous ways to improve my health - both mental and physical. In this era of 'big business' medicine, I have found a true gift for my primary care.

Completely dismissed any of my concerns. He told me that I was healthy and he would see me in 6 months. Three weeks later another physician referred me to a neurologist ASAP. A couple of months after I saw Dr Shebowich I received a letter that they were charging an “administrative fee” for doing their jobs and what any other physicians office does for “free”

Warning: if you need a referral to see a specialist, do NOT have Dr. Shebowich as your primary doctor! I needed a specialist and was REFUSED a referral because Dr. Shebowich decided that he could treat me instead. My insurance doesn't even require the referral, however the specialist did. What's happened to patients rights? He shuffled me off to his physicians assistant without my consent and when I felt I needed an expert to treat me, it seemed like his ego interfered with my health/treatment.

guy never explains side-effects never listens to what i say, now im stuck with an insane amount of pain.

As a senior I want a doctor who listens to my concerns regarding my health & tries to address them & not just write me off as being old & not worth his time. A doctor who will at least consider what I have to say & allow me to participate in my own care & be open to my suggestions regarding my care & willing to try something he may not think will work but if it does no measurable harm at least give it a try. In this regard Dr Shebowich has been a jewel! I feel comfortable in his care.
