Dr. Joel L Morgan

I have been taking my children for multiple disorders to Dr. Morgan for 20+ years. Dr. Morgan and his PA's have been a tremendous help and his office staff is amazing! I highly recommend this doctor's office. They are truly caring. Appreciate you all more than I can say in words. ?

Not worth the 1 star I gave him! He is rude and disrespectful and does not take the time to listen to your problems! He misdiagnosed me and put me on some medication that has caused permanent damage to my body! He yelled at me one day “You are such low income and you don’t have a decent paying job so you can’t afford to come here anymore! Just go to behavioral health services!” I left and haven’t been back. I did stop taking the mental health medications since they were not doing me any good and found out I didn’t need mental health services after all!

Awful. Dr Morgan was amazing but the receptionist, worst attitude ever. They have a 10 minute window, for if you are late. I got there before the 10 minutes and they still wanted to reschedule me. Hung up the phone while I was talking. And gave the rudest looks. Will never go again or recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Morgan and his staff treat you with respect and make you feel comfortable. Visits are always quick but never rushed. I’ve never had to sit in the waiting room for more than 15 minutes. I would highly, and happily, recommend him or his NP’s to anyone I know.

I have been going to VPA for almost 20 years and have never had a dissatisfying experience except for today. Dr Morgan’s office staff was incredibly rude today. When I was finished with my 30 second appointment, I tried to schedule my three mont appointment. The staff acted like I was even there and they were more interested in socializing about something unrelated to medical care. Dr Morgan is a very caring and compassionate doctor (I give him a 5 star rating), but his office staff needs some training on how to take care of his patients (3 star rating).

There’s no communication about medication. He cut me off after 10 years of prescribing it. I called twice to ask about weaning off. I never got a callback, so I faxed his nurse practitioner who I normally see. Still no answer. I’ve never heard of a doctor not telling you how to wean off the medicine that can cause serious side effects. He’s not the doctor I thought he was. There’s no communication about medication. Dr. Morgan, T.J., and Kelly are awesome. They really listen and care. Highly recommend!

I refer to dr. Morgan frequently. He is an excellent psychiatrist and he and his staff provide really good care to my clients that I refer to them.

Dr.Morgan was great. Very personable. Take his time with his patients. Id recommend him for pediatric and adult phsyc.

I just want to rave about TJ at this office, after experiencing a very traumatic experience a few years ago, he has been by my side to help me thru the grueling process of finding the right medications for my severe depression. He never gave up on me and I’m proud to say there has been a huge light at the end of my tunnel because of him. If this place could get a negative 5 stars, it would be well deserved and they deserve the grilling they are getting from people. To say Joel L Morgan and his staff are nasty, rude, incompetent swine would, first of all, be the understatement of biblical proportions and second off quite frankly, it would be an insult to pigs everywhere on every farm and rodeo in the great state of Georgia. If you have family members in need of help dont send them here there are other options available for your family. Always sees patient timely at appointment time!!

Exceptional customer service and fair treatment from all staff. Therapists and doctors alike are genuinely kind and considerate. They have all gone above and beyond to help in the time of need. I would recommend them to anyone!

Personally interested in their clients, and willing to help with any questions or concerns regarding payments, side effects, life balance and therapy. Dr. Morgan is extremely knowledgeable regarding medications and helps determine best course. The office staff is always very friendly and courteous. TJ has been a great NP who is genuinely interested in his patients. Since this is a psychiatric field, our perceptions can be distorted between what is known to help and what patients feel they need, and VPA does a great job of remaining objective. I had genetic testing to determine how my body metabolized different medications, and Dr. Morgan's office worked to eliminate the out of pocket cost with the company. That was immensely relieving! By the way, to answer a review above, suboxone is a horrible replacement drug, and the intent is to discourage from its use. They push for other options which are much less addictive. This Dr. Is charging 1500.00 for Suboxone to start out.... That's a matter of robbing people that need help.

Charging people $1500 for the suboxone program. Are you kidding me? They are trying to get help and you are robbing them blind. My friends doctor only charges $200 to start the program

After asking the staff at this establishment multiple times if they took my insurance and getting a "yes", I got a call the day before my appt telling me that they never took my insurance. I waited almost 2 months for this appt. The staff at this establishment are careless, insensitive, unqualified, and flat out of line. If you have serious mental health issues then I advise you to seek out another establishment that can/are willing to cater to your needs. I know have to start the process of looking for a new psychologist all over again and all they could say was "Well you can always pay out of pocket". They made no attempt to amend the mistake made on their part which tells me they have no genuine concern for patients well being. All they want is your money. A widget factory, and you're the widget. Can't wait to be done with you within 10 minutes, forget that ur problems weren't addressed. Secretary smiles to your face, then doesn't contact u about important matters. I will advise my friends or family I care about to go somewhere else.

WORST DOCTORS AND FRONT DESK STAFF EVER! They treat you like you are stupid and are not helpful at all. They stopped seeing me due to me having high stress and needing to take more medication and kicked me out the door like I was nothing. I am going to take legal action against them. I like Dr. Morgan. He listens to my concerns and tells me his own concerns. They get worried about writing too many medications. I can understand that, unless it's necessary and you need them. I have been to doctors that try to prescribe me 7 prescriptions at a time. When you have side effects, how will you know which one it is from? I think those doctors are into making money. I think Dr. Morgan cares more about side effects and how it could damage you. He is very intelligence. The office staff isn't very friendly, but you're there for the doctor, not the receptionists, but it is pretty inconvenient. For example, I have class and they misplaced my prescriptions so I'm waiting for him to finish seeing a patient instead of them just looking for my prescription. This isn't the doctor that is going to get you hooked on drugs so you keep coming back, though. I like Dr. Morgan. He listens to my concerns and tells me his own concerns. I have to be honest and say that I've never seen this doctor...full disclosure. But the REASON I've never seen him is because of his unethical and downright criminal policy of charging people $1500 up front for the Suboxone program. If you don't know, Suboxone is a medication for opiate dependancy...and the people that take it can be a bit desperate. That means, to me anyway that this doctor is flagrantly taking hideous advantage of people in a time of weakness. I wouldn't come down so hard on him if the standard policy for doctors in the area is NO MORE than $300-500 for the first visit. This practice and everyone involved should really feel ashamed that they are getting rich on the backs of people with a problem.
