My experience at Lone Star was excellent. The staff, nurses, anesthesiologist and Dr Houston were all professional, kind and caring.

The staff at his center were amazing, prep was not painful, made me feel very at ease and very comfortable experience.

Not just poor service but I also feel I was possibly subjected to dishonesty and potential malpractice from Dr.Houston and his staff at TDDC. Expect to wait 4 months minimum to have an appointment with not Dr. Houston but only his PA. To have a 5 minute conversation with Dr.Houston is actually a 6 month wait. I had a couple of superficial ulcers in my small intestine after a colonoscopy and was told by Dr. Houston himself after the procedure that I would only need some over the counter medication. This seemed logical because I have never had any problems or symptoms other than a single recent instance where i had really bad stomach cramps which I believe happened due to food poisoning and the ER doctor recommended I see a gastro. After waiting 4 months to go to my follow up with his PA i am told that these same superficial ulcers are indicative of severe Chrons and that i need to be on a subscription based infusion medication that cost $20k per dose. That’s right 20k!!! I was doing some of my own research and found that these infusion medications are only prescribed as a last resort for patients in really bad pain which again I tried to explain that I did not have but I was repeatedly ignored. During my follow up i keep telling my PA that I dont ever have chrons disease symptoms but she just kept pushing the prescription of this over priced infusion medication very aggressively without taking into account anything I had to say about my health history and how I physically feel. My insurance would cover most of it but still I do not even feel comfortable having my insurance pay this amount if I don’t feel that I need it. I found another doctor where i was able to actually meet and sit down with and talk for a few minutes; showed him my coloscopy pics and was able to get a more sensible treatment plan. I’ll never set a foot in TDDC again.

Professional, clear explanation, caring and absolutely outstanding staff!

I’m generally hesitant to provide written reviews but my interactions with all levels of the staff were truly exceptional during my recent visit. All were very knowledgeable and professional this includes the front-office people but especially the technicians, nurses, anesthesiologist and doctors I interacted with. I will definitely return to this facility if I need any related procedures in the future.

Great front staff. Dr Houston takes the time necessary to know a new patient. I am appreciative of meeting the physician before a procedure.

Dr. Houston is awesome! His staff has excessive turnover and has zero customer service. Be prepared to schedule an appointment with a PA four months out.

The little amount of time Dr Houston visited me before the colonoscopy was very informative. He was very professional by answering all my questions and reduced any anxiety I had. Dr Houston is very kind and friendly. Before I knew it, I was awake. Dr Houston came by to see how I was. I recommend Dr Houston as your doctor.

Dr. Houston has been my Doctor for several years now, I have to say he makes you feel comfortable and that leads to me talking more about my health . Dr. Houston always listens to my concerns and addresses them.I have lots of Doctors but only a few I would send my family and friends to.

Dr. Houston is super knowledgeable and a fantastic GI doctor. He takes his time to listen and answer all your questions and explains everything in detail. My visits never seem rushed. Dr. Houston introduce himself before my procedure and explained what was going to happen, how long it would take, and asked if I had any questions for him. Afterwards he gave me a brief recap of what he did, what he found, the actions he took, and the good news that I could wait the average time before having the procedure again. Dr. Houston made me feel at ease and that I was in good hands with him and his team.

I have been a patient of Dr. Houston’s for almost 2 years. He is an amazing, kind hearted doctor. His nurse Janice is also amazing, they both listen to your needs and concerns.

Dr. Jody Houston was the performing physician for my colonoscopy November 2021. The entire process was as smooth as one could possibly expect. All staff associated with the procedure from the receptionist all the way through to the nurses in recovery were exceptionally caring and professional. All aspects of their operation are highly recommended.

Dr. Jody Houston is very caring, thorough, and trustworthy. I feel well cared for in his hands and highly recommend him and his team.

Dr Houston is an outstanding doctor. He recently had to refer my husband to two other doctors. He personally called everyday to make sure we were getting set up with the other doctors in a timely manner. He told us if we need him are have any questions please call him. I had my first visit to Dr. Houston to discuss my colonoscopy and EGD screening need. He is super knowledgeable, professional, caring, kind, and efficient. He explains medical terms so clearly and really prioritizes the patient's best interest. I haven't had the procedure yet, but I have to say this visit is my best doctor's experience ever! And the entire office and building is so clean and organized. Everyone I met was so kind and helpful. Very professional and also upbeat, positive and excellent. I recently had colonoscopy. He took time and explained everything. Met before and after and answered any questions and concerns and also checked up the next day to make sure all was fine. He really is what all doctors should be like. I would highly recommend

I’ve just started seeing Jody Houston MD and I already know he’s going to be my new Gastroenterologist. He is knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. Dr. Houston marvelously navigated the pandemic environment to ensure that I got the treatment I needed. Despite a last minute transfer from another GI, he quickly assessed my medical history and devised a plan that was effective and comfortable for me. Of the different doctors I’ve seen in the past, I must say that Dr. Jody Houston ranks at the very top of the list. I was referred to Dr. Houston by my primary care physician about 4 yrs ago. I was not sure what to expect with my first colonoscopy, so I actually put it off a year and didn’t see him until I was 51. Looking back, I had nothing to fear. Dr. Houston and his staff have been amazing! They make the whole process and experience so easy. They have been with me every step of the way, and they go out of their way to make sure I feel at ease. Due to a history of polyps, I have had 2 colonoscopies now, and I am so grateful for Dr. Houston. He is sensitive to my concerns and answers all my questions. He is a very caring doctor.

A follow-up endoscopy after having one in 2020. Dr. Houston was very thorough in his explanations and with answering my questions. If you are looking for a great doctor, definitely make an appointment to see him. He and his staff are all top-notch. You will be in good hands.

I have anxiety about procedures but Doctor Houston and his entire staff made me feel very comfortable and they were very attentive to my fears and kept me calm.

After reading so many positive reviews about Dr. Houston, I was very hopeful with visiting him. I had some chronic problems and took the time to document and discuss them with him. However, I was surprised to see him so anxious to doubt my concerns. He eventually obliged my request for a procedure, which yielded no culprits. My biggest problem was that after the procedure, he seemed to have completely written me off and even started referring me to his assistant for my next few follow up visits. He even went so far as to imply that my concerns were a result of a pre-emptive bias. I'm happy he at least offered me a procedure, but I still have to continue searching for other doctors that will truly investigate my concerns. Overall I was very disappointed with Dr. Houston and his staff: They were nice, but as a patient I value thoroughness over friendliness. I've never written a review before but I have to brag on Dr. Houston and his entire staff... they are AWESOME! They really go above and beyond and are so compassionate and kind. I had a scheduling conflict due to a change in my insurance and was worried that I wouldn't be able to get in before my insurance coverage changed. Dr. Houston personally called me and assured me that he would make sure that I got in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy within my time frame. I felt like a super star! I have been to many doctors in my 83 years and Dr. Houston rates among the highest of doctors. He was very thorough, great in his explanations and put me at ease. I would highly recommend him if anyone needs his service. A top physician!!!

Dr. Houston made listened attentively, made me feel comfortable and never rushed me. I was having trouble swallowing due to inflammation. Through medication I am much better. I highly recommend him. The staff is also friendly and welcoming.
