Dr. Hechtman and her staff are amazing!

Dr. Hechtman delivered my first daughter last year and is about to deliver my second daughter in a few short weeks! She was extra cautious and intuitive with my first daughter while I was pregnant and then super supportive when I was in labor. I was induced, my epidural was excellent, no tearing, Ella just popped out...the process was seamless. Dr. Hechtman was so encouraging and reassuring, similar to a midwife. These poor reviews about her are very strange to me, and they seem like issues about her personality. I love her personality. Being an OB is hard. She's delivering several babies a day, at various hours of the day and night and it's amazing that she can still be energetic every single time that I see her. I am totally expecting to be rescheduled sometimes due to her needing to rush to deliver babies and to have quick appointments, but it's the nature of the baby business! It happens. I think others need to learn a lesson about empathy because Dr. Hechtman is fabulous.

Dr Hechtman is so great. During the delivery of my first child she saved her life when she was stick in the birth canal. She reassured my husband and I post delivery that our daughter was ok And the nursing staff was purposely not letting her breathe to get the fluid out of her lungs. She is more direct and factual, but I love that about her. She has your best interest at heart and that’s what she’s focused on. Would highly recommend Dr Hechtman!

I had a horrible experience with her and her awful office staff! I had to schedule my appointment an entire month in advance. It was at 2pm and I arrived on time with paperwork done and was told Dr. Hechtman had left ten minutes earlier. I was confused why the doctor would leave when I had an appointment and was told by the lady at the front desk that I should have come early. I was given no notice in advance that the doctor was leaving and they were completely rude and unaccommodating. I was told I needed to wait another four weeks to make an appointment. I was treated with complete disregard and disrespect. Worst customer service I’ve ever had and a doctor who is willing to walk out and leave her patients hanging! Will never recommend her! She is pushy, and doesn’t have your best interest in mind.. she made a horrible delivery choice that will cost quality of life because she doesn’t care... find a new provider

I’ve never given a negative review to a provider until now. I was referred to Dr Hechtman by my PCP who I have seen for nearly 12 years. Dr. H was rushed and curt, did not look at my medical history nor did she ask me any questions about symptoms, lifestyle or other factors that would give her diagnostic advantage. If she did ask a question she would talk over me as I was starting to answer. She gave me a prescription which worried me given her clear lack of interest and told me to come back in

Dr. Hechtman made me feel comfortable and addressed all of my concerns in a professional manner!!

I know some people only leave reviews when they have something bad to say so I want to say something good. Dr. Hechtman is by far the best on I've had. I made a switch to her office for my most recent pregnancy. She was so empathetic and kind to symptoms and saw me same day when we found out my pregnancy was no longer viable. She made the time to fit me in for surgery next day and was so kind and great throughout the entire process. I will always recommend her and only ever use her again.

While trying to explain my treatments and symptoms for an ongoing infection, she would interrupt me, blunty saying, "that's not relevant" over and over again. She spoke to me like I was stupid, making up my discomfort, and being a sissy. I cried nearly the entire appointment because I have been so overwhelmed. She had no empathy. Worst part? I've never had my ovaries checked and she did that without warning: intrusive and traumatizing.

Hechtman was amazing Dr. I was high risk so she sent to the Specialist and when that Specialist told me my youngest Daughter wouldn't make Hechtman told me different and made sure she was going to make it.

Jody Hechtman is a phenomenal doctor. After moving from the South Hill to the Valley, we ALMOST switched offices to find someone closer to home. I'm so glad we didn't. I developed preeclampsia about 28/30 weeks into my pregnancy. Jody took such great care of me & made a very tough decision to induce me early (& WHEN to induce - 37 weeks) ensuring the safety and well-being of both my son AND I. I couldn't have imagined a more relaxing pregnancy than I had, especially given the circumstances. <3 Jody Hechtman is a phenomenal doctor. I saw Dr. Hechtman for many years and had her do an ablasion about 6 years ago. Something changed 2 years ago and the time I saw her I was in distress and upset about the abnormal cells found. Believe it or not instead of being professional and understanding she was extremely rude and berated me for shaving my privates. I don't know what she was going through but it was awful and she should never treat patients in that manner. She could have said it in a different way but chose to be awful.

I had an appointment because I was having pelvic pain, pain with sex and a sore on the left side of my labia, after exam she told me everything was normal but on way home I realized she forgot to look at the sore on my labia. When I went back to have it looked at she said we should do a biopsy, now 2 days later I realize she did biopsy on the right near my anus! All I got was a “sorry” and when I asked if I can see another doctor they said no.

She was very late to my appointments. I had low-grade cell abnormalities in my cervix from my 1st ever pap & she ordered a colposcopy. I had no pre or post-procedural care instructions and loads of pain. My information came from Google. I told her I was having a very sharp pain during arousal too and she told me it was normal. "Things change when you have sex," (when I'd been sexually active for years). An awesome OB/GYN diagnosed me w/ pelvic floor myalgia 1 month later. Find a different OB/GYN

Dr. Hechtman has delivered both my sons in the past 2 1/2 years and both were high risk due to my wife's Type 1 Diabetes and my first sons diagnosis of Down Syndrome. Dr. Hechtman is the most well spoken, courteous and caring doctor I've come across. She took us on knowing the complexity of our situation and never batted an eye. Both my kids are here and safe because of her ability to handle ambiguity and the unknowns involved. I would recommend no one else if you want the best care available. She'll always be honest, open and real with you. That may rub some people the wrong way who are looking for a glazed sugar coating to mask serious issues, but if you want to get to the root of a problem and get the best options/explanations out there. I had surgery done by Dr. Hechtman and wow was that a mistake. I highly recommend going to any other doctor than her. I felt as though she talked to me like I was a child and inferior to her in some way. She lacks bed side manor and one of the most important things a doctor should have, EMPATHY! I had extreme pain post surgery and as I was in the post surgical room she discharged me even though I was crying in extreme pain. Worst experience of my life. I recommend finding anyone else.

I visited Jody today for a consult for my Adenomyosis. I sat in the room for over 45 minutes before she walked in and shook my hand like a dead fish. She talked to me as if I was a six year old with no knowledge of the female body or even how my period happens. Every question I had was met with a condescending answer from her stone cold face. I found her to be arrogant, rude, and lacking in any basic people skills. Don't waste your time.

Dr. Hechtman is a terrible doctor. I went to Dr. Hechtman to have surgery to treat my Endometriosis. 2 months after surgery I went back complaining of pain. She told me I had to be 'making up my pain' cause my surgery went well and she 'got it all. I just surgery with another doctor and they found my endo everywhere and said the previous doctor didn't know what they were doing because it was everywhere! She also lack empathy for her patients and I felt as if she talked to me like I was stupid.

She was extremely knowledgable and asked questions I had never even thought of. I went in for a birth control consultation and will be going back for a pap. I can see how people could find her unsympathetic in her speech, but I think she just thinks faster than she can talk. I so far trust her completely. She listened to my concerns, did research off of what my primary doc gave her, and was able to ease my nervousness about my upcoming pap.

Had two surgies with Dr. Hetchman and was not impressed. She lacks empathy for her patients and their physical pain. I highly recommend choosing a different doctor. She also only excused me from work for 1 day post surgery. Terrible doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hechtman's for vet 6 years. She has delivered all three of my children and has been by my side from the beginning with helping figure out infertility to helping me through a number of pregnancy complications. She's amazing. She has facilitated the births of my dreams and been on my team. She listens. She's real and she cares. I am about to have a fourth baby and I can only hope she will be able to attend and participate in that birth as well.

Always rushed appointments. Never listened to my concerns. Bad experience and she just seemed to not want to deal with my high risk pregnancy. In the end she never reached out and went the extra mile. Luckily I went to mfm doctors who did.
