Dr. Joann L Zell

Caring and compassionate always. I have been seeing Dr.Zell for over 10 years she is my favorite doc. She looks at me as my whole person talks about more than just my condition and has caught errors by other docs with medicines prescribed. She is wonderful and really digs in to stay up to date on treatment options.

Dr. Zell is by far one of the worst rheumatologists I have ever seen. If I could give her a zero star rating I would. I was recommended to see her by a former rheumatologist who simply just failed at treating me. I was told by my former rheumatologist that her "specialty" was Lupus so I had high hopes and was obviously and sadly disappointed by her extremely negligent care. As we all know and as the name implies, Systemic Lupus can literally affect everywhere and anywhere in the body and any time I came to her complaining of severe joint pain she would often downplay my symptoms by saying things like "joint pain doesn't affect the hip joints". My severe joint and widespread muscle pain was ignored almost every time I saw her in office. Had it not been for my primary care provider I would still likely be suffering from chronic pain. She only offered standard Lupus treatments even after I failed very many of them and failed to think outside the box. She is THE WORST to say the least.

Dr. Zell, is courteous, caring, takes her time with you and is very knowledgeable. She does not double book patients. I truly enjoy every meeting i have with her as she truly seems to understand each person and what they are going through.
