My husband and I were recommended to see Dr. Schmitt and we are so so happy that we found her! I was specifically looking for a physician with DO credentials because I have musculoskeletal pain and wanted someone who could do osteopathic manipulation. Both myself and my husband were also hoping to find a physician who was knowledgeable about weight loss solutions. Dr. Schmitt has been the perfect doctor for us! We have both lost a significant amount of weight by following Dr. Schmitt's plans. I follow closely with her and find her very motivating and encouraging in this process. Additionally, my husband has diabetes and is under excellent control now. In general, we love the office staff and find everyone very approachable and friendly. I’m not one to leave reviews but this was just beyond appalling. Dr Schmitt was very pleasant and attentive. It’s the office staff I have an issue with. I left a voicemail for the medical assistant regarding a new medication I was prescribed during the visit and had no call back. I also messaged the doctor a few days after calling and received nothing back. I gave it 2 weeks and called the front desk to see what’s going on. I talked with Joyce at the front desk. She told me I can no longer be a patient due to my secondary insurance (that I wasn’t even using to see them) being an issue with PRESCRIBING medications…I told them BEFORE I even made an initial visit that I had two insurances and only planned to use my primary which they had no issue with. After my very first appointment and not getting any return calls/messages then it became an issue? Never have I had any problems like this with an office before. It’s a shame because This was my first visit here and I really liked doctor Schmitt. But she should really look into how her front desk treats and talks to patients. Joyce was extremely unprofessional on the phone. I was recommended to come to this office by a friend and they have had similar encounters with this same staff member. Double billing ethics - so watch out! I ended up being charged for a regular visit AND a wellness visit. Billing clerk said it was because the doctor discussed health issues with me during wellness visit? What? Nurse asked questions about prior visits & because I answered, I am penalized & charged an additional office visit fee. I wasn't sick, no fever, aches, pains - no reason I'd go to the doc's, other than a wellness visit. Dr billed both office & wellness fees for 1 visit. Now in dispute!

Left several messages for the doctor to call me and never heard from her or the office. Issues with billing unresolved and had to file a claim to get any results. Still waiting.
