Dr. Jeremy Scott Smith

I was recommended to Dr. Smith by some other great doctors that I was visiting at OSI. It took a little longer to get an appointment with Dr. Smith, but I had visits with two other doctors in the same facility for a shorter waiting period and they were not particularly good. Very quickly after my MRI, he had a clear idea of what my problem was in my neck which was related to two discs in my cervical spine. He referred me to a fantastic neurologist whom could be covered by my insurance, which is not easy with Blue Shield, as he feared I had a damaged nerve in the same area. He was right about that as well. Now, this may seem fairly normal that a doctor is capable of identifying your problems, but what is unfortunate in today medical world, because of how the system works, sometimes they force you to make additional test, analysis and other unnecessary things even if they know it is not really necessary. After a horrible encounter with another physician, a friend of ours recommended Dr. Smith. We were pleasantly surprised, Dr. Smith was compassionate, listened to what we had to say and took the time to explain everything at great length. Dr. Smith only opts for surgery as a last resort and tries to find all possible ways to find a nonsurgical solution. A breath of fresh air in a world of monstrous physicians who only care about making money at the expense of patient care.

Dr Smith performed lower back and neck surgery on me in 2020 and 2021. Prior to meeting Dr Smith I was at Keiser and for the Prior 3 years kaiser just put me on meds, injections and PT while I continued to get worse. Kaiser eventually told me I could not be fixed and would probably end up in a wheel chair because of the pain. I am a 55 year old male in great shape so this was not an option for me. I was referred to Dr Smith and he saved me. Back pain is 99% gone neck pain is 99% gone. Dr Smith makes sure to always answer my questions 7 days a week. His staff is top notch. Dr Smith saved my life. I had upper back and lower back surgeries performed by him. All with good results. I highly recommend him.

not sure if this can be helpful but just wanna provide some truth with evidence for you who consider seeing the doctor. Just my story goes like this: made an appointment three weeks ahead with the intention of doing surgery. However, I was met with his so-claimed Assistant at the office and this guy spent 30 mins explaining what I have been told through a year of seeking medical help. Basically, I knew with expertise about my back injury and I had done pretty much everything besides surgery. And at this point just needed to inquiry about surgery. But, just been kicked out by saying that oh go back and do more injections (which I had already done twice). I never met Dr. Smith and I respect Evey doctor. However, the way their aides served people was totally unprofessional and could be a waster of your time. So you guys gotta be a bit pushy and tell them in the office you just need to see the surgeon regardless. Dr Smith is not only extremely compassionate and caring, but a talented and skilled surgeon. He performed my second cervical fusion and will now do a posterior cervical fusion. Thanks to Dr. Smith's diagnosis and procedure I am back-pain free a year and half after surgery. His method was less invasive than others I researched and the results were great. His staff is friendly and helpful.

Dr. Smith was outstanding and did what he told me he was going to do. His bedside manner if top notch and when you have an appointment they are pretty much on time. I have gone to 2 Post Op appointments and have been early and they got me in before my actual time. His staff is second to none and is PA (Stefin), is super positive and has great attitude that works great with Jeremy. I highly refer this practice to anyone that has back issues. I have a Micro Discectomy and it was 1 hour surgery, what the Dr said, and woke up pain free. Was walking with no pain in 3 hours after surgery. So glad I did this and hope it will not return. Dr. Jeremy Smith was caring and extremely helpful to me when I needed it the most. Had back surgery in October of 2016. Doing really well with having surgery. I was in such pain! I trust him completely.

I highly recommend Dr. Smith for any type of spinal surgery. He is an excellent, compassionate surgeon and my life has changed completely. My pain for six years was intense with scoliosis, degenerative disc disease and multiple other problems. He was confident in his diagnosis and explained to me and my husband exactly what he would be doing. My surgery was in March 2016 and I would not hesitate a minute to do this again. The entire lumbar up to T-11 was fused. You will have made the right decision if you choose Dr. Smith. I highly recommend Dr. Smith for any type of spinal surgery. Dr. Jeremy Smith (one of the spinal/back doctors at OSI) seems well versed in spinal medicine; but he has no concern for your time or informing the patient of options. How do I know?! I WAITED ONE AND A HALF HOURS see him on the first appointment at 10am in the morning (how do you get this far behind after being open for 2 and 1/2 hours?!). No apology from Dr. Smith or his staff. They will send you 2 texts to make sure you are on time to the appointment, but no call/text or warning from his staff in the waiting room. He runs the appointment in a brisk, rushed manner and you have to ask A LOT of questions in the 12 minutes I had. I had to "drive" the appointment to make sure I received the physical therapy prescription and medication I needed to avoid a repeat appointment. This assembly line medicine is unfortunate. I'm hoping he's better in more serious spinal problems. (BTW, I would try Dr Danto, or Dr. Deckey first. Dr. Shepard is good, but only does Sports Medicine now.)
