Terrible. I never even saw Dr. Vargas because her staff - from the person I spoke with on the phone to make the appointment to the staff that turned me away from my appointment - were completely unprofessional and downright hostile. I waited almost 4 months for my first routine physical but when I arrived 2 different staff members berated and chastised me in front of a long line of people for "not following the correct protocol" because I had gotten a precautionary Covid test the day before, despite the fact that I had no symptoms. They would not let me see the doctor and refused to let me make another appointment because they said they were booked far into next year. Now, I have to start over and find a new primary care doctor and probably wait months for another appointment but I would rather do that than deal with anyone at that clinic again. Dr. Vargas should be aware that her staff treat potential new patients like garbage.

Unfortunately when you have medicaid you have to put up with less than optimum doctors It took me one year and 7 months to get a proper diagnosis to my hip pain (Thank God I didn't have Cancer!) After insisting on a referral because that's what it takes to see a specialist I chose Northwestern where I was immediately diagnosed and a treatment was collaborated with the Rehab Institute of Chicago and her staff is just a s painful to deal with

My concern is not Dr. Vargas - she's wonderful. The staff at the reception area are extremely rude and unprofessional. I love the clinic, it's clean and organized. My appointments have been right on target. I ask that you please look into this and make the necessary changes to provide your patients better customer service.

Dr. Vargas is a good doctor, she is efficient in the job, but is the staff in the front office that that I am concerned about. I work for a non-profit organization and I am a strong advocate for community development and social change. I was personally at El Alivio to acquire information for my mother (when her appointment was). I waited 30 minutes for something that could have been resolved in less than 3. I saw the treatment patients had to endure to get service, I will be taking this further.
