I had the Nissen surgery 7/20. Dr Smith is a very accomplished surgeon. Y ou will like him. I have not had heartburn since, and have thrown out my Prevacid. This surgery will also help you lose weight (which I didn't need). You can do the surgery in Alma or Mt Pleasant.

Dr. Smith did an abscess surgery December 2018 and recently did my RNY gastric by pass surgery. Dr. Smith is very compassionate, patient and understanding. He strives to make sure his patients are comfortable and understand what will happen during surgery or what is causing the medical condition. Dr.Smith takes time to allow his patients to ask questions, discuss concerns etc. He is patient oriented and ensures your spouse/family are informed and updated. Dr.Smith did an abscess surgery and recently did RNY Bariatric surgery for me. I can not say enough great things about him. He is very approachable, excellent bed side manner, willing to take time to explain things, answer questions and provide support. Makes you feel comfortable. He was great with updating my husband when I was out of surgery etc. He walked down with me as I was being brought to the OR, made sure my husband was able to see me, talked with him to ensure he understood how things would work etc. my husband said he was great when he met with him and our family after surgery. Hands down the best in his field and will see him for anything related to surgery or procedures!! His office staff is amazing as well!

I traveled 3 hours away to go to Dr. Smith and don't regret it one bit. He's a great doctor with a great staff.
