He was the first "neonatologist" my 30-weeker, very low birth weight baby had. He kept information from me, like how he diagnosed her failure to thrive the time he had her and made me believe he cared. I got the horrible doctor after him, De Jesus, who almost killed my baby when she applied indomethacin without food for a failure to thrive baby. Why they did not put a PICC line back in is beyond me. Merrill could have just continued to up feeds too but no, better to watch her weight drop like crazy and say nothing to the caretakers. These doctors just keep them alive. He was part of preventing my baby from getting proper nutrition when she needed it most and she is now, a year later, developmentally delayed. She ended up going to Benioff Children's where they continued to starve her for five more weeks. NICUs in the Bay Area are torture sites for these poor babies that are unable to request food. Go to Stanford and avoid all the hospitals in the Bay Area where these contractors work.
