Dr. Jeffrey H Martin

Dr. Martin has the compassion and caring that a lot of doctors today lack. He took extra good care of me. The staff in his office is also kind and courteous. I love Dr. Martin and all his staff. Feel really cared for!!

I saw Dr Martin from 2018 to 2022. He is attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and reassuring. The office staff are also very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend!

Glad I was able to get Dr. Martin as a physician. Perfectly satisfied with the procedures he has done, seems to be a great guy.

- staff would not assist with insurance questions (unable to get RX filled because of error on form by staff); - no follow up after repeated calls; - patient privacy compromised (e.g., exam rooms open into a larger room. When MD leaves the exam room the door is left opened and the patient is in view/exposed to other patients in room. (Oddly there is a small track on the ceiling of the exam room for a privacy curtain.). Conversations held. In one exam room are easily overheard in another. - medical staff conversations and actions not professional (e.g., conversations about/with patients including treatments, politics, & personalities.) - discussion of alternatives not offered. - answers to questions are vague (I.e., questions not welcomed?) - phone calls not returned to insurance company, pharmacy, and/or patient.

Totally professional urologist...Great person and wonderful caring staff...

great doctor, explains things thoroughly, and if you need to call, a real person answers the phone..

Dr. Martin really makes you feel at ease really great dr and his staff is absolutely amazing!

I have used doc Martin for 4yrs now for my kidney stones and he’s been great! Very to the point which I like! And when you call you don’t have to go through a automatic system for 10 mins before you can speak to someone it’s so nice and they are very quick to get you helped!

I recently experienced a life threatening situation ans was admitted into the ICU. Doctor Martin was on call and on top of my medical condition with quick choice for surgery. That man saved my life with the assistance of the hospitalist. I would recommed him highly.

Had bladder cancer four years ago. Dr Martin removed the tumors and has been administering BCG treatments since then. I now go back once a year and all is well. I can only say good things about Dr Martin and his staff.

I had a problem and went here , thinking it was a urology problem . They got me in quickly , staff was excellent, Dr. Martin explained what he thought ordered additional tests (it was cancer) he had already talked with an oncologist and had a appointment for me Monday morning . I saw Dr. Martin for the first time today. I thought he was very professional and thorough with his exam. I will be going back in a month for further tests on my problem.

Dr. Martin seems to only be concerned about how fast he can get you into and out of his office. His staff is about as inept as one can be! Anytime i need to have my mail order prescription refilled i have problems. Urologists are hard to find in my area so im kind of stuck with it for now.

Staff is unreliable!

I was diagnosed with a painful UTI and had a bad reaction to the antibiotic that was prescribed. The staff didn't show any concern for the reaction I was having to the current antibiotic or even suggest that I come in and let them check me out, then they said they would not prescribe another antibiotic until my culture came back. In the mean time my UTI is getting worse and becoming so painful that I had to miss a day of work. When I called a day later (4th day of the UTI) to ask for an antibiotic they said that I had already been told they would not prescribe anything until the culture came back and it could be up to 72 hours before it came in. Finally one of the nurses pulled up my file on line and they prescribed another antibiotic but by then I had started to run a fever with the infection and it has taken several days to feel better. In my opinion the staff had no compassion for what I was going through and Dr. Martin is not worth the irritation of dealing with his staff. i was told during a recent visit that i needed to have a MRI done for a prostate problem I had given them my insurance information figuring they would send me to a facility that would cover the procedure but that was not the case. upon calling my insurance company to check to see if authorization was given for the procedure I was told not only that I didnt have authorization but i they wouldnt cover it due to it being out of my state and network.. This was a failure on Dr. Martins staff! I ended up having to find a facility on my own that was in network to do the procedure and calling their staff person (Bobby) responsible for handling the appointment and asking them to contact this facility to get my authorized through my insurance one week ahead of time. Ive called Dr. Martin staff member several times along with my insurance company to check to see if authorization has been given and nother. Now, the day of my appointment I find through my insurance company no authorization was ever asked by Dr. Martins office thus having me cancel my appointment I waited.weeks to get. Almost didn’t go after seeing reviews but was referred by Fannin County Hospital administrative personnel and I’ll tell ya... Dr Martin was very professional, straight talking and easy to discuss issues with. The staff also were very friendly and nice. Also they got me in very quickly to see me about my issue. You think most facilities would call beforehand to check insurance for any procedure right? Not here! Do not go here, I certainly never will

NEVER USE THIS DOCTOR! Dr. Jeffrey H. Martin and his staff seem to have absolutely no concept that their patients are human beings in very vulnerable situations that we love and trust in their hands. I called Dr. Martin and scheduled an appointment for my Dad. The day prior to his visit, I called the office to provide a history of Dad’s recent health issues. I spoke with nurse/assistant Bobbie, an extremely rude and unprofessional woman. She cut me off and told me, “We are too busy to go over these details over the phone; you will just have to come in with your dad sir!” She stated this in a very derogatory manner and abruptly hung up. I called again and explained that I had taken a lot of time off work and could lose my job. In addition, it was a 4-hour drive for me and that my sister’s live in Wisconsin. I explained that my Dad would be very safe with trained EMT’s in an ambulance from the Life Care Center of Copper Basin to and from Dr. Martin’s office. I explained that my Dad had been through a significant trauma and mentally he was in and out of it so he most likely would not be in condition to provide information. She hung up on me again. I called back on the day of the visit, before my Dad would arrive, and Bobbie picked up again and she scolded me yet again, stating, “I told you to come in with your father sir! We have other patient’s and don’t have time for this!” She hung up on me yet again. This time I called back, got Bobbie but asked to speak to the supervisor. I could literally hear in Bobbie’s voice the pleasure she was taking in giving me such a hard time. In her mind, this was all about Bobbie, not the patient. She said in a very cocky voice, “Sure, you can speak to me supervisor”. I was then handed over to Renee Nicely. Renee listened to me and repeatedly apologized for Bobbie’s conduct. She told me that my Dad had arrived but he was being uncooperative concerning signing paperwork. I told her, this is precisely what I was trying to avoid. He’s been through too much too fast and he probably doesn’t understand what you are asking of him. I told her that I am Power of Attorney and I can provide everything you need. I then learned that Dr, Martin’s staff was actually, negligently wheeling my Dad back to the ambulance and was going to refuse to see him. Fortunately, Renee Nicely caught them before my Dad had left the building. She had already told me he was gone but after I threatened a lawsuit, she ran to try to catch him and did. Renee stated that she did have some paperwork from Life Care Center of Copper Basin. In addition, she allowed me, using her own cell phone, allowed me to speak to my dad. He was very upset and confused but I was able to get him calmed down. Renee emailed me the consent form and I signed it, as Power of Attorney, and emailed it back to her. She stated that she would have Dr. Martin call me after my Dad had seen him. Dr. Martin called me and spoke down to me as if I were a dog (my Dad said he experienced the same); in a very similar manner as his assistant/nurse Bobbie…I now could see where the attitude towards client’s and patient's was coming from. He stated, “I have no idea why you would put your Dad through all of this. There isn’t anything I can do for him in his current condition”. I explained that I was simply following doctor’s orders from a very reputable source, Erlanger Hospital. This is what I was instructed to do at this point. Dr. Martin’s office was happy to take the money but certainly did not provide anything resembling quality service and healthcare. If they were so busy that they could not take my Dad and handle the matter professionally and efficiently they should have told me that. Bobbie turned a relatively simple scenario, in which I had all bases covered, into a nightmare. Cleary Dr. Martin allows this type of conduct and is ultimately to blame for the climate of hostility we walked into and experienced. Please do not make the same mistake, I promise you that there are better options out there. NEVER USE THIS DOCTOR! Dr. Jeffrey H. Great experience with Dr. Martin took time went over all options and explained everything I would highly recommend Dr. Martin.

I’m thankful for all the wonderful care my Dad received throughout his ordeal prior to his passing. My only regret is that I picked up the phone and called the office of Dr. Jeffrey H. Martin when he needed an urologist. Please do not make the same mistake. I promise you there are better options.

Apr 5, 2017. I supplied my medical records Mar.15th. It quickly became evident that HE NEVER LOOKED AT THEM even though I asked if he did. I then explained to him that my urethra has been COMPLETELY blocked for years 4 times and he asked me if I could self-cath 4 times which would mean my urethra would have to be open. So he wasn't even listening to me. I said the VA wasn't helping me . He said to go back to the VA. I said this is waste of time. He rudely said I was wasting HIS time. AVOID!!!!

The doctor and staff have given the runaround and all out lied from day one.
