Dr. Jeffrey N. Kenney

One of the last holdouts with mask requirements which are worthless. Thought I'd get a tooth extraction with a temp until I could get an implant. No. I was going to leave the office with a missing tooth and would have to coordinate with my dentist for a "flipper." Defeats the purpose of one-stop shopping. I did not have my tooth extract. Staff was nice and professional. Did not see Dr Kenney but I'm sure is is outstanding. Will not be going back until the mask requirement is dropped.

Here for wisdom tooth removal. I was quoted a price for the surgery and paid up front in cash, not through insurance. The staff was fine, and the surgery went well, But I wasn't put under for the procedure, which I paid extra for, and also received an additional bill after the surgery was over.

I went for a consultation. It was very normal. Everyone was pretty nice. I had no issues. It kinda took a while to be seen but that might have been my fault for not having my ducks in a row.

Everything was amazing. The hospitality, the comfortabality. It was so good I don't even remember being put to sleep or going home. I woke up in my bed hahaa. Slowly everything is coming back to me but I appreciate the experience and would do it again if I had more wisdom teeth lol

This was my second procedure with Dr Kenny’s office. The staff are always amazing from the front desk, to the appointment reminder call all the way through to the end with the follow-up call. Dr Kenny is an amazing oral surgeon. With both procedures I’ve had I left with little to no pain. Same results after the numbing wears off. Little to no pain and I don’t have to be dependent on the pain medication. I’ve had some traumatic dental experiences and they always make me feel at ease at Dr Kenny’s office.

Dr. Kenney must have the touch! My son had all four wisdom teeth pulled and had minimal swelling and pain. Our experience with him was wonderful.

Had to cancel my appointment because this office is STILL making mask up. Masking to go to the dentist is asinine.

Totally disgusted about this office. My insurance changed from delta to cigna and they did not inform nor post a notice at their front desk that they no longer take cigna. My daughter had an appointment to have all 4 of her wisdom teeth pulled and just like me and several others, they ask for the balance due to be paid prior to the procedure, but funny how it is always a hypertension reason why he could only remove 2. I was questioned if my 22 year old daughter had hypertension issues. Being a nurse myself, pain and anxiety can raise your blood pressure without it being a medical reason. So we had to get a medical clearance from my PCP which he even shook his head and was skeptical about why he told us we had to do. So for the past couple of weeks I have been trying to get someone to return my phone call regarding an adjustment and for my insurance to be ran so I can itilize my out-of-nerwork benefit. When you call, they ask if you can hold, don't wait for a response and never return to assist you. So I had to go up there and speak to the office manager. She did remove the remainder balance off my account which was about $300 so she claimed, but when your insurance would have paid 50% of the balance of 4 wisdom teeth, but instead you pay the same amount for only 2 wisdom teeth being removed, it does not sit well with you. Now I have to come out of pocket to pay for 2 more wisdom teeth removals. Secondly she advised me their system changed and they did not have my insurance information in the system when I gave it to them prior of and day of surgery. She told me the business department or either her would give me a call back regarding the discrepancy later that day...well today is Wednesday and I haven't heard of anyone. So I will make one more attempt to visit the office before I seek legal help. And maybe I would finally get a return call.

It was an excellent experience as usual, I always get top notch service.

Dr. Kenney knows his "craft." This is my third time for implants. He is very particular and very knowledgeable.

PATIENTS BEWARE! Don't trust this dental office, this is a shady business practice! They told me at a consultation that my implant procedure will be covered by the insurance and that I'd only be responsible for $600. After the procedure was done I received a bill in the mail stating that I owed another $1,300. When I called the office they said they haven't even sent a pre-approval request because they only do it when the patient verbally ask them to do it. They already knew the procedure wouldn't be covered by the insurance, due to the fact that the tooth extraction happened before my coverage started, but they lied to me to make sure that I get the implant done so that I have no option later other than pay them the balance... Your receptionist refused to schedule an appointment for me even though I called before 5 PM, then proceeded to hang up on me. Shameful.

First I was excited about getting the 7 extractions and having a pretty smile again.Everything seemed in order until I mentioned methodone I take for opiate dependency .He told me all I need is MOTRIN for post operative pain ???? SERIOUSLY. Perhaps he is not aware of the many opiates that are used in patients like myself.I did sign off on all paperwork .Even still the quality of care quickly declined .I have been blessed with Good care from other Doctors as well as courtesy and understanding.Needless to say after paying for xrays I left after i was told He had to ask what meds I could take.Mind you He never asked me .So unproffesional. I would like to write a review for two different situations. Five starts to being able to get my wife in ASAP while she was in so much pain. Five stars to taking care of her issues both of them when she was only due to have one done. Five stars for the results in the end. Two teeth removed, not a single sliver left. Five stars for calling in pain meds before anything was done, so she would not be in agony. 10 stars for billing so far the correct amount. For all that I thank you! 0 stars and i mean if I could give negative 5 I would. The dentist is calloused. My wife sent me a message saying she had tears pouring down her face due to the pain that was inflicted when Novocain was given. She said that she was treated like a cow and felt like she was being branded in a way that was abusive. When she came home she explained. He just jabbed me and with out even pulling out the needle jabbed again and again. She stated that she was bleeding from just being numbed up. It was not till the tears rolled out of her eyes and she started shaking that he slowed down and his voice became a bit nicer. Best outcome for what is probably one of the worst days for most people.

Major thanks & applause to Dr. Kenney & his staff!!! I have had a TON of dental anxiety & shame until a severe toothache brought me to recognize & be proactive with my dental health! I was referred to Dr. Kenney through Dr. Pham with Peninsula Dental Care. I had been a ball of nerves dreading just even a checkup. Thinking I would be criticized for my oral health & in for a painful exam... so much shame & fear... With a bad broken & abscessed wisdom tooth I went to Peninsula Dental Care where they were so gentle & kind... taking X-rays & examining. It was there that I was recommended for my wisdom teeth extraction along with a broken, beyond repair molar. During Covid, things are of course different with a longer process... I had to have a consultation first & pray the pain stayed away. Dr. Kenney was very thorough & matter-of-fact when he asked if I had any questions I felt he had covered all bases. Finally the dreaded day rolled around when I would get my extractions under anesthesia... Maybe anxiety kicked in but I was totally put at ease when I went into the operating room. The first dental assistant was very warm, & even asked if I needed a blanket which I obliged to & it was soo cozy & lovely! Security blanket maybe? I'll take it!!! Then walked in Nurse Kelly who is an absolute GEM!!! Her high energy & lightheartedness instantly disarmed me with her humor & jubilance! How fitting that she administered the "laughing gas" haha!!! She's a little spitfire! She also hooked up the iheart radio that by the time the nitrous had hit me I could only think to listen to Bob Marley... At some point Dr. Kenney & his amazing assistant came in & I could tell he was all business. This is a man who is serious & outstanding in his craft. The bedside manner was short & sweet but I understood his mindset. He kept an eye on my vitals on the monitor before I drifted off. I did awake at one point while we was administering the numbing agents which frightened me & hurt like a *beep* but the assistants were immediately there & aware; one lady said "she's awake"... the other said "it's okay just breathe through your nose" & that is the only recollection of my extraction. I needed to get all four of my wisdom teeth pulled, Dr. Kenney and his nursing staff was amazing! Ms.Kelly, Ms.Kat, and another amazing nurse helped me get comfortable and situated in the operating room! Operation went perfect and smoothly. 10/10 would recommend!

One of the best dental experiences I’ve had. I have the worst dental anxiety! I was a hot mess this morning and Dr. Kenney and his staff did an amazing job making me comfortable for my wisdom teeth removal. Every assistant was great but Nicole went above and beyond for me. She gave me my IV and nitrous. I’ve never had any surgery done before in my life. She walked me through everything, held my hand and rubbed my forehead to keep my nerves down. Made sure to see me before I left and even called me a few hours after I left. She was amazing, I can’t thank her enough. I asked if I could keep my teeth and now cause of Covid that’s not allowed but my other assistants made a point to take a picture of my teeth on my phone for me!! Gave a 5 star review....best outcome on what is probable one of anyone's worst days.

Went here about a month ago for wisdom teeth extraction...at least I thought I was. It had been my first time with anesthesia so I was openly nervous about it, all the nurses could ask me was to calm down while I sat for over 20 minutes wondering about the procedure. The doctor came in, explained rather quickly what would be taking place, then left only to be replaced with the billing clerk eager to get payment upfront. This wasn't a surprise, so I paid an estimate. Afterwards, they proceeded with taking my bp and pulse, and after I had said how nervous I was, they still acted surprised when it was a sky high reading. Not after no more than 5 minutes one of the nurses explains that they could not perform because I may have underlying hypertension problems, even after pleading in tears to let me calm down for a little while. I had them charge my estimate back to me, and ended up breaking down in the parking lot, definitely one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life. Weeks later, after being tested and proven not to have hbp, I still recieved a bill for my consultation for my procedure that never happened, and I'm still in pain daily. My daughter had a procedure and had to return because there was a bone chip protruding/left in from the extraction. This was removed without too much discomfort but subsequently, she has experienced pain in her jaw and was referred by Dr. Kenney for physical therapy to resolve the issue. The staff never made the calls required to get insurance aligned and we had to cancel the PT appointments three times over a two week period. The staff, including the office manager (She haughtily informed me that she was also Dr. Kenney's wife and last and only recourse when I expressed how frustrated I was with the entire situation and requested to escalate to either her supervisor or Dr. Kenney himself) was very unresponsive, unprofessional, and full of excuses as to why they couldn't perform the basic function of arranging a referral. The front desk woman was thorough in providing excuses as to why she personally dropped the ball: 1) she is new 2) she was sick for two days [this issue spanned over 10 business days so not sure how that affected the other 8 days] 3) I wasn't the only patient in the practice 4) she gave it to the office manager 5) this was first and only time in the entire time Dr. Kenney has been in practice that they had to deal with this type of referral situation. They passed me back and forth every time I called and failed to take ownership for their lack of followup. I am very disappointed with this office. I went in with a broken tooth, causing A LOT of pain and was told it would take 3 weeks for insurance to approve, to see the doctor for a consult took over an hour to been and was in and out in 15 minutes feeling very rushed in the office. After 2 1/2 weeks I called the office back to check in if there was by chance any information at all and I was informed it would now be 6-8 weeks for the insurance approval and that I needed to call my insurance to expedite the claim. I was in so much pain it was hard to sleep, eat and even focus at work or with my school work. I then called around yesterday and today I was seen by Dr. Tankersley and within 15 minutes my insurance went through and within 40 minutes I had my tooth pulled and was out the door. If you need immediate care with a doctor who cares about you please go see Dr.Tankersley , he is efficient and affordable. A very caring and kind office and does all the insurance work for you! I called today just to gather information and ask a few questions. I did not get the name of the receptionist I spoke to, but she was rude and spoke to me in a condescending manner. Definitely will NOT be going to this office. If this is how new prospective patients are treated, that says a lot about this office as a whole.

On September 24, 2019 I had 3 wisdom teeth extracted. I will say I was nervous due to a bad experience with another dentist, but the administration staff was awesome even got a T shirt. Going back the nurses were warm and assuring. They even allowed me to listen to soft jazz(music of my choice) while they prepared me. They answered my questions of all concerns and stayed with me throught the procedure. Now naturally people request bed side manner, but he was straight to it which I didnt mind. He asked about my weekend, but I think he is serious about his craft so no time for major talk. He was quick and I have little to no swelling. After care was even better. They monitored and walked me out despite me saying I was ok. They assured i was safe and gave follow up call twice. I was sleep, but I noticed they called. I love this office. 3 different Interactions so far and everyone was great. I absolutely love being a patient at this office. My absolute favorites are Mrs. Kelly & Stephanie. I adore them and they take really good care of me along with Dr. Kenney. We all have bad days on our end as patients and I'm sure they do on their end so try not to be too harsh on first impressions because things may turn around if you have a better outlook. When all other oral surgery locations wouldn’t take my wife in for emergency surgery until 3 weeks out Jeff Kenney took her in the very next morning!!! I was very pleased with the staff and how serious they took our situation. While on the phone with the receptionist trying to book an appointment she kept telling me “we will take care of her” and that is exactly what they did! I recommend them to everyone 100%! Came in for wisdom teeth removal today, all 4. I felt really cared for and listened to throughout my experience. They took special attention to the fact I had very invasive oral surgery from another surgeon 7 years ago which left me terrified, and let me listen to calming music. Very friendly and attentive, highly recommend.

Horrible service call for the first time to make an appointment and the lady was so rude and disrespectful sounds like she was rushing me off the phone so therefore I decided not to business with these people.

Customer service is terrible. Front desk clerk was very short with me from the time I stepped into the doors. Did not feel welcomed nor wanted in this establishment.

In 72 years I have never had such a brutal dentist. I had to actually yank his hand away as he jammed the needle deep into a nerve.

Absolutely the worst dental experience of my life. I went in for a consult for 3 dental implants and an extraction or 2. Big dollar sale for them and that didn't even buy me even a little bit of good service or care. Nurse went through my purse and they called an ambulance because the meds i take for anxiety at the dentist office made me sleepy. My husband stepped out of the room and the nurse went through my purse and this was all done after they pulled my tooth, they didn't do any consulting they just put me in a chair and manhandled me the whole time. The novacaine injection was the most painful I've ever experienced and he didn't wait until I was numb or read the referral from my regular dentist regarding my severe anxiety at the dentist or that I needed a combination of 2 different meds to get me numb. Now after 6 weeks I still have a large hole in my mouth AND an ambulance bill, even though the emt didn't understand why they called I was fine and they left after less than 10 minutes, but they still had to bill me. This has not been good for my anxiety in the dental chair, my wallet or the dental issue I went there for treatment. My daughter had her wisdom teeth taken out today. As soon as we walked in the office we were welcomed with a very friendly front office staff. The assistants were very nice and knowledgeable they made us feel very comfortable during the whole process Dr. Kenny made sure we understood everything my daughter felt very comfortable with him. Had my four wisdom teeth removed along with another tooth so a total of five. The staff is AMAZING they made me extremely comfortable before and after the procedure. They educated me on how to proceed with taking care of my mouth after the surgery. They called me later that day or check on me and to ask if I had any questions or concerns. Just left surgery after having all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. I had to write this review because I truly enjoyed my experience with the staff. The front desk employee and the 2 nurses that were with me the entire time were absolutely amazing, encouraging, and so so attentive. Dr. Kenney was also very matter of fact and straightforward which some people may not like, however I'm the same way myself so I didn't mind. You can really tell that he knows what he's doing and does it extremely well. Overall, the employees here were the best part about the experience and I can't say that I'll be back again, but if I need anything else done this is absolutely the place I'll be going. Poor customer service

I wouldn't send my dog to this surgery center. No compassion, awful customer service, definitely not a pediatric clinic - they spoke to my 9 year old child like she was a 40 year old coming in for a routine procedure. Please don't take your child to this office for oral surgery. They have zero bed side manner, treat children with no patience or kindness, and essentially disregard their feelings and fears. The admitting technician looked at me like I was crazy when I asked that I go back with my child (who was scared and anxious and also unclear on what they were going to do), not a smile or comforting comment, just "we do this all the time". Hey look at me like I had five heads when I ask if they would weigh my 9 year old daughter before they administered anesthesia - pretty standard practice - and their response "we probably did that last time". Really?? Exact weight isn't needed for a 60 lb child?! They barely spoke to her, and as she began to get more and more nervous and hooked her up to machines, I was told "she's gonna need to cooperate or we won't do this." They gave her LESS THAN 15 MINUTES to calm down and breathe in the laughing gas before telling me they were not going to try. My child did not scream, or move around, she was just in tears and afraid of the needle and they called it quits on a necessary surgery before giving her more than 20 mins to calm her nerves. They didn't even explain what was gonna happen. The doctor never even spoke to her, no one tried to calm her - I can't imagine how they would have treated her if I wasn't there. Unbelievable. Dr. Kenney Jeffrey is the best in Virginia in my opinion, he pull my brother teeth which has autism he had patiences with him. My brother is very had to handle going to the dentist but Dr. Kenney Jeffrey pull has teeth with no problem. No need to shop around for a dentist, go to Dr. Kenney Jeffrey. Awesome staff.

I have been putting off getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed for years. I met with other Doctors’ in past but didn’t feel comfortable and left their offices terrified as ever afraid to move forward with the extractions... When I met with Dr. Kenney for my consultation it was like a dream come true and I knew that I was in good hands. He was very friendly, had great bedside manners and made me feel safe about my procedure. Dr. Kenny removed all of wisdom my teeth the same day as my consul and the surgery went smoothly and quick. His nurses (Kelly, Mary and Elizabeth) were phenomenal, they were also friendly and I could tell they really cared about my comfort. This is one of the best dentist office’s I have ever been too! I got my wisdom teeth removed from here and I must say the staff was amazing! They knew I was nervous so they tried to talk to me and make sure I was ok. And even after I went home , the nurse still called me a couple hours after I went home to make sure that I was doing ok. The staff really care about their patients. Had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled back in November and it was the best experience! I followed all of the Dr. instructions and had a great recovery... I literally had no pain by 3pm the same day of my surgery with no pain meds.... This isn’t typical for everyone. Highly recommend!!!

Best Oral Surgeon in the area!

Dr. Kenney in the beginning was one of the best doctors i had ever seen. But over the years he has allowed himself to change his bedside manner especially is much harsher than it used to be and god forbid your in pain and have swelling for more than 3 days cuz 3 days is about all the pain relief he will allow .

Car salesman alert! They gave me a price over the phone, then tried to charge me 4 times more. I called and asked how much for a tooth extraction. It was $70 or if chose to be under the gas, it would be $400. $70 sounded fine, so I came down. They had me there for an hour before bringing me the financial form. Doctor Kenny was extraordinary... I can not say thank you enough! I wanted to give him and his staff a huge hug...l had my daughter there after being referred from my NEW general dentist... Doctor Kenny had to fix a problem another oral surgeon messed up while extracting her wisdom teeth... He took her in last minute same day... Fixed her up and in 3 days she is feeling 80% better! They went above and beyond what a doctor is expected and made my daughter feel so comfortable and relaxed... They restored my faith in humanity for my daughter and I ... Dr. Kenney and his staff are PHENOMENAL!!! I was referred by my general Dentist to get four wisdom teeth removed. When I called for an appointment they scheduled an appointment promptly. When I arrived Dr. Kenney's staff greeted me with a smile :-D Even gave me a FREE T-Shirt! The wait time was minimal (I never waited more than 5 minutes). I chose to get my wisdom teeth removed, the day he examined me. They explained everything to me and my husband. The next thing I remember is waking up! <3 <3 <3 After Surgery I didn't have bruising or any swelling. -Not everyone is going to have the same healing experience. Dr. Kenney is a great listener, has the best bedside manners, and is VERY patient! I had a Dry Socket (very common and can be very painful). I was referred out by my primary dentist for a wisdom tooth extraction because I had extreme anxiety... Dr. Kenney was very calm and casual and the whole procedure went very smoothly. Dr. Kenney took no more than ten minutes, it was surprisingly painless and recovery is going very smoothly - no major aches or pains or even swelling. Your mileage may vary, it may have had something to do with my particular tooth or it may have been because of the skill of the doctor and his staff. Thank you all!
