Very thorough and professional, excellent experience. Dr. Jacoby explained everything, we are pursuing the options he feels would work best for me.

I will admit at the outset that Dr Jacoby is very personable and explains his plan for you. HOWEVER my experience has been truly HORRIBLE. I so regret letting Jacoby do surgery on my spine. I do have issues with my spine and I knew what they were going in. Dr Jacoby proposed a spinal laminectomy on me. He was a second opinion doctor, but because of his personality I chose him. This is not a good way to chose a surgeon. My surgery was scheduled for noon and didn’t happen until 3:30. Afterward he told me I was his last surgery and he was dead tired and had to go home to take a nap. He was shaving bones in 5 disks to release pinched nerves which were causing me pain. In spite of the pain I was very mobile and active. He told me if I didn’t have the surgery I’d be in a wheelchair within 3 years Bottom line is I would never let Jacoby touch me again. It’s been close to two years since my surgery and it’s been pure hell. I walked into the hospital and still can’t walk without a cane or walker. I spent 6 weeks in 2 different rehab facilities and a year and a half in physical therapy. His PA called me at the rehab to tell me she reviewed my MRI and I still had a pinched nerve. She couldn’t discuss it with him because he was on his honeymoon. I still have pain, have serious mobility issues, and my quality of life has severely deteriorated. I went to Mayo to get their opinion and they told me it was a failed surgery. He should have placed material between the disks but failed to do so. They said that my disks had now collapsed. I am left in a really bad place and it breaks my heart. My husband and I went to see him and he denied any culpability, and displayed extreme nervousness. He insisted I had something else wrong with me like MS maybe. I don’t have MS or any other debilitating disease. MGood luck if you go ahead with him as your surgeon. Dr Jacoby is very methodical in reviewing my MRIs and X-rays and clearly explained me what’s causing pain in my neck and shoulders. Also provided fix to think over. Doctors Staff and Practise are also great!

Dr Jacoby is very kind, patient, personal & very experienced in his field. He listens well to what I have to say & he explained very clearly the treatments & procedures that I will be having. I highly recommend him for anyone with back or spinal concerns.

A friend recommended Fox Valley Orthopedics. I was experiencing symptoms of hip bursitis (pain) and contacted Fox Valley Ortho. Because I wasn't a patient they recommended I visit the same day care facility. It took some time to see a doctor but I expected that since I wasn't a patient and was a walk-in patient. I was seen by Dr. Jacoby and he was excellent. Very personable and concerned with my care. I would highly recommend Dr. Jacoby and Fox Valley Orthopedics.

Overall, a great experience. Making the decision for major surgery is a difficult choice. Dr. Jacoby and his staff are extremely professional and very attentive to not only the patient but also those family members affected by the surgery. Many variables and concerns throughout the journey. I highly recommend Dr. Jacoby and Fox Valley Orthopedics for the best quality care.

He was very personable, explained what he saw, explained what he thought was the best plan. He took plenty of time with me despite being behind in his schedule due to a medical emergency in the morning

Dr Jacoby and nurse Linda were so friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The radiography staff was efficient and professional also.

Dr. Jacoby truly listens to your issue(s) and does his best to find alternate options to help before mentioning surgery. He makes sure all of your questions are answered at each appointment. I would highly recommend Dr. Jacoby.

First time to the practice and it was outstanding. Very nice, helpful.

Dr Jacoby explained my condition to my wife and I in layman’s terms. He took his time explaining the pros and cons of treatment possibilities and answered all of our questions patiently.

Great experience & outcome. I saw Dr Jacoby for pain, weakness, & neurological symptoms (tingling/numbness/no feeling) from spinal stenosis. Had anterior cervical disectomy & fusion surgery 2 weeks ago & all issues have resolved. Virtually zero pain post op. Initial hospital group refused to work with my Healthshare ‘insurance’ and cancelled surgery (because I was unable to pay $67,599.43 cash by 3 days prior to surgery). Dr agreed to do surgery elsewhere and set his staff to work to reschedule at Amita St Joe’s in Elgin. They thoughtfully even managed to squeeze it in during 2021 (12/27) knowing that was my preference because I had already met my deductible. All of his staff were as knowledgeable, thorough, patient, helpful and kind as him from beginning of process to end. I can’t thank all of them enough for their care, compassion and advocacy to get this surgery completed successfully. I thank God & them that I can securely hold my newborn granddaughter pain free!

I was very impressed with Dr. Jacoby during a recent visit for my daughter. He was patient, listened and validated my daughter's pain. We never felt like he was in a hurry and we felt he was very thorough in his treatment plan.

I saw Dr. Jacoby for a chronic low back issue resulting in hip & thigh pain. My appointment was only a half hour late at the end of the day. He reviewed my ex-rays, immediately diagnosed the problem and set up a plan for care. Great listening skills, energetic, confident, personable, positive. He answered all of my questions so that I fully understood. For the first time in years, at age 74, I believe that I am looking forward to a more active life without fear of pain.

Everyone was pleasant. I was very impressed with Dr. Jacoby. He was so calm. He never gave me the feeling that he was in a hurry to get out of the room. He answered all of our questions and went over the MRI with us so that we understood it. He truly wants to make sure that he’s doing the right thing for you.

Dr. Jacoby is a very compassionate doctor. He is kind, thorough, and is never in a hurry to answer all of your questions. He took his time and explained everything in detail about the surgery and what he would be doing so I could understand. He will only do what is best for you. I had L1-L5 surgery and it was successful. I would recommend Dr. Jacoby to anyone.

Fox Valley Orthopedic got me in quickly after contacting them to address a very uncomfortable sciatica situation. Dr. Jacoby was very friendly and explained my condition and options well. We now have a path to healing in place.

I found him very knowledgeable and personable. But after waiting over 2 hours in examining room I felt he was in a hurry with me.

Excellent! I first saw him in the hospital where I had been rushed to the ER with a fractured tailbone after a fall. I had previously been assigned to a different orthopedist who determined that I would have to be flat on my back for 6-8 weeks. Due to sciatica this was not an option for me so I requested to be seen by a different doctor. Lucky for me, Dr. Jacoby agreed to see me and immediately understood the ramifications of remaining flat in a hospital bed. He took measures to initiate my transfer to a rehab hospital. I’ve since seen Dr. Jacoby for a follow up appointment. He was comfortable to talk with, addresses my concerns, and went over the MRIs and X-rays with me and explained them in “layman’s terms” that I could understand.

Very well organized and pleasant office staff. However, I left this practice due to his significant oversight of my underlying and critical spine issue and patronizing me. Seemed more interested in running costly tests and not fully reviewing the results.

They helped care for me over the phone, and then arranged for an mri and surgery. The surgery seems to already be helping( one day post op). He answered all my questions

This wonderful Doctor sat down with me and gave me his upmost attention , his recommendation set me at ease so I can have the surgery I needed . Listened to all my concerns. Gave me my options and together we decided on 2 procedures at once. Spent plenty of time explaining his reasoning for what he was going to. Used newer techniques so recovery wasn’t as bad. Excellent is the only word that comes to mind!!!!

Dr. J is the G.O.A.T.! I went from a debilitating spinal cord injury (CES) that should have left me with permanent paralysis. Two and a half years later I have regained almost all of my feeling/strength (within reason) I need no walking assistance at all. I freaked completely out right before surgery and he was patient and reassuring and his work speaks for itself. Dr Jacoby fit me into his busy schedule. His staff was wonderful and attentive to the severe pain that I feel in my lumbar spine. He ordered an mri right away and followed up with telehealth. I intend to follow up with him when this pandemic is over as I continue to have some questions about my prognosis.

Although I had strained a back muscle, I enjoyed my appointment with Dr Jacoby. He was personable, up beat and knowledgeable. His treatment was perfect. I know it was perfect because it worked. If I injure myself again I will consult him!

My wife had awful debilitating back pain from an injury. When she called they got her in that same day. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. Dr. Jacoby and his P.A were warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to go back again.

Dr Jacoby was very professional and articulated my medical issues so I could understand what needed to be done to eliminate my pain. Honestly one of the best experiences I have had with a physician.

A very talented spine surgeon that is looking out for your best interest. He lets you know that he is in your corner and he doesn't shy away from very difficult surgical repairs. The service I received after the surgery was remarkable.

Dr. Jacoby explained my issues in an understandable way. He was receptive to my concerns. All options were explored. His presence was very calming, and made me feel comfortable asking the questions that I had.

Dr. performed 4 surgeries on my lower back and every (1) turned out perfect. The last sugary you mite think, could Have been a possible Modern day marcel? After 57 years my right foot started moving again after stricken with polio when I was (2) years old? If this is not a Marcel, Then what would you call it? I would Recommend Dr. Jacoby over any other surgeon And I know many!!!
