What an AWFUL experience! Apparently if you’re a little late- despite checking in and PAYING an exorbitant $50 co-pay- this Doctor declines you once you return to the desk- after all that! I came in 10 late! After checking in it was 15 mins total. I even took a cab to get here. That’s 65 bucks down the drain for NOTHING. His general reviews for his practice are garbage as it is- DONT BOTHER. What an AWFUL experience! I had good experiences with Dr. Gross and his physical therapists. In one case, he identified the problem and ruled out more serious conditions. In another case he started me on physical therapy. He gave me an exercise to do while waiting for my first physical therapy appointment. His physical therapists were knowledgeable and used a multi-dimensional approach. They helped me where other physical therapists in other offices had failed. I had good experiences with Dr. Gross and his physical therapists. Front desk was friendly but his strict guidelines on being late is absurd. He doesn’t pay for my cab rides to and from and due to covid i’ve been trying to avoid taking rides on the train and for my first time i got there 14 minutes late and was turned away and didnt even see his face as he had his front desk give the message. Never in my life have i been through this. Front desk was friendly but his strict guidelines on being late is absurd. Jeffrey gross was a very poor doctor experience. I'm only writing this review after I sought a second opinion. I came to Dr. Gross complaining of pain on my right side by the hip/back area. He did absolutely nothing to me after seeing him twice complaining of pain. No medicines, no ideas, only a quick neurological examination. I can get a pt prescription from my internist so I'm not quite sure what function dr gross actually fulfills. It was a complete waste of time and money and I'm upset at his total unwillingness to investigate the symptoms. Jeffrey gross was a very poor doctor experience. Echoing the sentiments of a few others - Dr. Gross is misogynistic and either too incompetent or too lazy to provide real care for his patients. He continuously cut me off when I tried to explain my symptoms, rushed me through my appointment and left no room for me to ask questions. He even insinuated at the beginning of our appointment that I was lying about my symptoms because I have a Xanax prescription (what?!). As if every person who deals with anxiety ALSO has Munchausen's? He refused to run any tests and only agreed to order an X-ray after I demanded it several times. He later smugly informed me that, as he'd thought, the X-ray came back normal. How is this a way to treat patients, people who are in pain and struggling with potentially life changing injuries? After several months of going to OT with only worsening symptoms I went in for a follow-up and he recommended I just continue with the same treatment plan. The path that was clearly NOT working and had only led to increased pain. I've had to live the past year of my life in debilitating pain that leaves me unable to work because of his incompetence and negligence. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT NYU. I'm at HSS now and it is amazing. Go somewhere where people actually care about you and want to put in the work to see you heal. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR! I went to Dr. Gross in November with immense pain in my back and he said it was muscular. I found out a month later after the pain became worse that I had a bad cervical neck injury and that the symptoms I had presented were obvious signs of an injury. I later would have to get surgery to fix the injury. Dr. Gross blew me off saying "I see this is a lot of women" as if my gender had anything to do with my pain. Dr. Gross put me at risk to be re-injured.
The office staff were not friendly or assisting at all. Cancelled my appointment the night before an appointment for severe injury on my ankle without notice ahead of time.
Dr Gross was very professional and a pleasure to deal with. His physical therapy staff is abysmal. They do not care to help you and will charge you for services not rendered. The office manager is unprofessional as well.

I'm extremely angry that I have to pay him even a dime for basically making thing worse. I REPEAT: DO NOT SEE THIS "DOCTOR" ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A WOMAN. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR! A great place, although my injury is taking some time to heal, the therapists are really good, communicative, and positive.
I had a great experience with Dr. Gross. The front desk staff were friendly and check-in was quick and easy. I sat in the waiting room for 5 minutes before getting called into my appointment 15 minutes before my scheduled time. Dr. Gross was fun to talk to, listened to symptoms, and quickly diagnosed my wrist issue. He gave me advice that was easy to follow and suggested I meet with the hand specialist in the same office, which I will definitely do given my wonderful experience there thus far. Cannot recommend to anyone. Office people not cooperative and snobby. Management of the office is missing from work place.
The office staff was very terse and cold. When I saw the doctor he repeatedly cut me off and would not even let me finish what I was trying to tell him. The only definitive answers he could give me were, "damn, your knee is f@#$ed up" and he told me to ice it. Before I knew it the appt. was done and he was out the door. He recommended I do physical therapy but the only opening for therapy they had were spaced 6 weeks apart from each treatment. They offered no alternative help or solutions and I am still in debilitating knee pain. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR!!! The office staff was very terse and cold. Dr. Jeffreey Gross knows his medicine, but did not want to give me advice for any solutions. He said I needed physical therapy. I asked him to give me one or two exercise tips until I get my appointment with the physical therapist, as they would not be available for another two weeks, and he said: just go to youtube. This 20 minute quick consultation cost more than $500, but I did not get any pill nor tip for my painful rotator cuff injury. Sad. I had seen chiro who actually had made it worse, Saw Dr Gross who quickly and accurately diagnosed my issue I saw Ron who was fantastic as were the rest of the team been supportive and encouraged success I went from barely walking or standing and swearing like a trooper to back on the ice playing hockey, It takes work from both parties you have to do the exercises religiously if you want to heal properly. Reception and account staff are great as well and will help you out as much as they can to make sure you get the treatment you need. I saw Dr. Gross in 2012 after a car accident and only experienced the best care. Unfortunately I can't say the same now. I called his office to verify my insurance and was told they'd call back later that day. I called today and they said that they hadn't gotten to it and would do it tomorrow. As a result of their laziness, his next available appointment wasn't until next week (when I called it was the day after)! I thought a former patient would be treated better, but I guess not!
My visits to Dr. Jeffrey Gross's office were short, unproductive, and disappointing. Dr. Gross himself fulfills his name, as he was misogynistic and patronizing. The physical therapists under his domain are no better, charging hundreds of dollars for exercises that one can easily Google if you search 'lower back pain.' It's good to know their advance degrees mean nothing and have probably swallowed them in consuming debt, though. Luckily, I've now found a cheaper--and more respectful--physical therapy office just a few minutes away. You should probably do the same. Dr Gross and his staff were great. I had torn my shoulder muscle in the fall of 09. A friend of mine who had recovered from a double knee injury recommended Union Square Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine to me. I met with Derek, he walked me through the rehab experience, he was patient and creative in his approach. I made a full recovery in approx 30 sessions. Dr Gross and his staff were great.
