Dr. Spencer has been my ophthalmologist for over 25 years. She performed 3 eye muscle surgeries for my strabimus, 2 as a child and one as an adult. I have recommended her to friends and family whenever I have had the chance. You may have to wait for an appointment but it is expected with a specialist that is hard to come by in this area.
Dr. Spencer has been our son's eye surgeon/doctor since our son was 5 days old. He is now 20. Dr. Spencer is highly trained, highly competent & first and foremost concerned with providing the best care for her patients. She has always been personable, kind & caring to our son, her patient. She is in high demand. After 20 years of dealing with this exceptional physician & her staff, I am offended and baffled by another message on this board that disparages Dr. Spencer & her staff. It's bunk
Unfortunately Dr Spencer has a near monopoly in the area for her speciality, and her office uses that as an excuse to expect patients to wait ridiculous amounts of time both to get an appointment, as well as during appointments. They do not see their patients and families' time as valuable and are rude when it is called to their attention. I was told directly that no effort will be made to change this. So, wait a month to get an appointment, show up on time and expect to spend too much time.
