Dr. Jay Wang

Staff a question, in the middle of my response put me on hold, then had no idea of insurance coverages, insisting I need a referral.

I called Dr. Wang's office in November 2022 due to abnormal blood results. Dr. Alper's office recommended I see Dr. Wang. After many unsuccessful phone calls to get an appointment I gave up. Office staff was very incompetent. Every time I called I was given a different story why I couldn't get an appointment.

Dr. Wang was very personable, easy to talk with and efficient. Clinical staff very friendly and caring.

Many thanks to Kim Gallo, Dr Wang’s Office Manager, for going beyond the call of duty to support my impassioned request on behalf of my husband, when we weren’t even an established patient with Dr. Wang. Her kindness and understanding of my sense of urgency made a very emotional plea, a positive experience for us. Within a day, we began our journey to understand the prognosis and solution that will be needed as we go forward. There are no words in this type of situation except to say Thank You!! I am so blessed to have connected with Florida Cancer Specialists,especially Dr Jay Wang who I trust completely and the nurses and staff are so welcoming skillful, knowledgeable and compassionate. I had my 1st treatment for triple negative breast cancer recently and it was as pleasant as possible with such caring people. I know I have a journey ahead of me ,but with the support of Dr Jay Wang and staff,I will do well with all the support. He is clear and inclusive with patient about treatment plans. At a patient’s request, he will include other professionals without judgement and follows-up promptly on all discussions of care. He is an outstanding professional and provider of care.

We never had a chance to see if he could help fight mother's cancer - she got an infection and passed away. However, the family agreed that he rushed us through every appointment, and we may have made different decisions if we'd had time to ask questions. His own words "This is a life changing diagnosis ". Doesn't spend enough time with you to find out your issues or read your chart. Or else he really doesn't know about certain blood diorders or the treatment protocol

I don't know how he get such high ratings maybe because he on knows leukemia and those are leukemia patients. If I would have stayed with him I would be dead for sure in 6 months . Too many patients and doesn't like to answer any questions. No bedside manner or patience for anyone that questions what he says.

Unfortunately my mom was diagnosed with in-operable lung cancer. Which metastasized to breast bone and then her brain. During the entire treatment Dr. Wang was informative, and very helpful. He communicated when I would reach out to him and provided excellent information and we discussed best treatment for my Mom and her quality of life, dignity was always taken into consideration. I can’t thank Dr. Wang enough for his support, expertise, compassion during a difficult time. The Staff at FLA Cancer Center was AMAZING. They do not get the gratitude they all deserve. When considering an Oncologist, do not hesitate to go to Dr. Wang. -From a ver grateful daughter who had the best experience possible in. A hard situation and had 3 years of wonderful memories with her Mom! My Mom actually enjoyed going to her appointments because Dr. W & the staff.
