This is not a good health care provider, I tried going here and it's a six month wait list. Of course in six months things will change, my husband lost his job, moved to a different state, insurance changes. I couldn't fill out the insurance portion on hand because of this and they cancelled with no hopes of rescheduling. It's just poor health care practices to do this especially with mental health. I do not recommend this business

Dr Fawver only does intake appointments and you will never see him again. I thought it odd that Dr Fawver is the only man in the office and all of the nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and office staff are women. When I first started seeing him I had private insurance. When I switched to medicaid they told me they didn't accept medicaid. When my new doctor died I called their office again and they said I could come back. At my second intake appointment I saw Dr Fawver for the second and last time. Carlene was my regular NP. Everyone in their office is extremely busy and if you miss a scheduled appointment you will have to see a different NP or wait 3 months for your regular NP to have an opening. Carlene was the only person in this office that I could tolerate. The office has a policy that they do not prescribe controlled meds. I had a car accident because I fell asleep at the wheel due to my chronic insomnia. Carlene also told me that I don't have to eat just because I'm hungry.

I don't understand why it takes so long to answer a message. Is there a special word that needs to be in the subject line to get someone to respond. When your having a breakdown you expect to get help from someone in a timely manner, not 3 days later. Very poor concern for patients

Horrible office. Horrible doctor. I no longer go to this office, but feel I should warn people to go elsewhere. They do not take you seriously. When I was first prescribed medications through this office, very soon after I started getting migraines, nausea,, vomiting every single day. I voiced that I thought it was the meds they gave me that were causing those issues as I never struggled with those issues before I started taking the meds. They made the excuse "you're probably drinking too much caffeine" or "its probably your allergies." They switched my meds but I was still having issues. Long story short, I got tired of not being listened to. As soon as I stopped the meds cold turkey, the nausea, migraines, and vomiting stopped. I went to a different doctor outside of Parkview and he confirmed my suspicions to be true. He told me I was in fact allergic to the meds they were prescribing me. The other doctor prescribed me something totally different and I never had anymore issues. If you want your concerns to be taken seriously..... you won't find that here. You also see a different nurse every single time. The only time I met with Dr.Fawver himself was my initial new patient appointment. Never saw him in person again. Seemed like they only cared about getting patients in and out...rarely ever about tackling issues more thoroughly. They just suck all the way around. Stay away from this office. Horrible office. Not a good doctor. The nurse would not refill a prescription. I called six times and my pharmacy sent over a request twice. I called and went off in a message and got a call 10 minutes later and the nurse yelled and talked over me. It was the most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had. Some of the nurse practitioners are good but as a whole I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Not a good doctor. The nurse would not refill a prescription. Ive been going here since March 2019. I haven't had many issues other than the fact I was likely misdiagnosed and had every antidepressant and antipsychotic you can think of thrown at me. They recently told me they can no longer help me because my meds weren't working and I was turning to supplements and substances to help me get through the day. They refered me to a parkcenter psychiatrist and I missed the appointment and when I called parkcenter they treated me like I was just wasting their time and needed more intense help. I scheduled with another psychiatrist for the middle of july 2021. It is currently july 2nd 2021. I need a refill for my two antidepressant prescriptions before i see my new psychistrist. I call like normal and explain everything that happened. The nurse calls back leaving a rude message saying I need to prove that i have an appointment or they cant fill my prescription . I call and leave a message saying the day, time, office, doctors name and number and offering to provide physical proof if need be. It's the next day and still no response or refill. I honestly hope I get serotonin syndrome and die so my family can sue this doctors office. Ive been going here since March 2019. Main receptionist there is horrible. She is rude and they’re dealing with people in pain. Not right! Nurses and doctor are great but after your first visit you will never see Dr Fawver again. I requested a follow up visit with doctor for my son because we hadn’t seen the dr for years and they wouldn’t allow it.

I missed my new patient appointment and was told I can’t reschedule. I take ownership for missing my new patient appointment, but I thought they were here to help people? I will be going elsewhere for psychiatric care and I recommend everyone else do the same if this is how they treat new patients and people in general.

It was an honest mistake that I missed an appointment by thinking it was the next week. I politely asked to reschedule and they told me they couldn’t at all after filling out 50 pages of their **** paperwork. These people are here to help people with internal issues not create more. Absolutely unbelievable that they could not simply reschedule the appointment. Please stay clear and don’t bother with wasting your time or the state of your mental health. Also I would like to add, the new patient lady made me feel like a criminal for having a drink once and told me to go somewhere else, this is absolutely unacceptable as a mental health business, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE. My family doctor referred me due to my current psychiatrist not being responsive to me. First you get an answering machine that says you'll be called back in the order received. They did call the next morning. However because I am on disability they would not see me. They referred me to Park Center for the services I need. Unfortunately I am not eligible for those services as I am not on Medicaid. I also don't live in Park Center catchment area. But they didn't ask that. The receptionist just assumed she knew what I clinically needed. Beware of a place that won't even do an assessment to make clinical decisions. This is from a retired clinical therapist. My husband saw Fawver for 3 years. We left the practice and we fired him August of 2020. The first time he saw him was the only time he saw him. I emphasize only time he saw him. Saw nurse practitioners from them on. They were good but couldn’t get same one. They suggested Esketamine treatments. We started those. He had 11 months of treatments starting 3 times a week and tapering off. This stuff gives you a trip like acid does they say for about 20 minutes. It is abused on the street, so a serious drug. We asked several times to see Dr. Fawver and were told he reads all the charts for the day. I can’t believe anyone could read that many patient charts. I have been with Dr. Fawver for over 15 years. I have nothing but kind things to say about my treatment and I can't understand why there are so many bad reviews. Dr. Fawver and his NPs are well qualified to diagnose and treat mental disorders. My NP--Jeanette Cochran--is kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She allows me to help decide on treatment plans. Psychiatric care is vastly different than typical medical care. As with any psychiatrist, there must be a chemistry between patient and Psychiatrist As in life, no two relationships are alike. Not all doctor/patient relationships work out. That does NOT necessarily mean that the doctor is lousy or unqualified, it just indicates that the doctor/patient relationship wasn't mutually agreeable and the patient should look elsewhere for treatment. I'll admit at times the administrative staff seems all business. I find that the nurses I talk to between visits can seem to me a little brusk. They have a great responsibility. Please consider that the patient might share some of the blame. Overall, Dr. Fawver and his NPs do a terrific job. His clinic wouldn't be as popular as it is if they did not. Really pretty great place. Dr. Fawver is very kind as is the entire staff of Nurse Practitioners. Please understand that if you cannot contact them by phone during business hours, you will have trouble. I had a few really rough weeks due to extreme medication side effects, regrettably sent some passive aggressive emails, and I am now no longer a patient. I am now finding that my request couldn't be granted because of a policy issue that none of them had control over. I only wish communication were more modern and/or accessible for people who can't use a phone. Don't screw it up like I did; the availability of this kind of care is apparently very, very slim. 7/30 - Having just gotten a response, I'd like to add that I did not have a good experience. Months later, I'm still living a hellish nightmare as a result of a missunderstanding. I'd just like to caution everyne that they can and will drop you with no warning no matter what happened, what your current state is, what caused it, or how badly you need them. And you won't be able to ever see or speak with your prescriber again even if you've worked with them for a very long time. You will be shunned. Do not get to know your prescriber well or think of them as someone you can depend on if you need them. Just agree, don't talk back, and hope that your life and medical conditions can be arranged around their preferences. Really pretty great place. Referred to Dr Fawver by a local neuropsychologist for recommendation on tweaking depression meds. Left message to make an appointment. Took more than 4 weeks for the call to even be returned and that was only after calling again. After another week got a call from Malaine telling us it would be way too expensive to see Dr Fawver since out of network. Explained I am willing to pay out of network cost for evaluation and recommendation on depression meds. After another week told by Malaine that Dr Fawver refused to see me...even for one initial evaluation... because there may be too much paperwork paying cash and I should go to Park Center instead because they have Case Managers. It is clear Dr Fawver is cherry picking who he accepts. Don't believe the website that says he is accepting new patients. He is only accepting the ones he wants and has screened both financially and medically.

Would NEVER recommend, have had SEVERAL family members go through him and all they ever see is a NP and they dont handle the more severe problems. They've told them to find new doctors anytime it's more than ptsd or bipolar. They're a psychiatrist not a psychologist they prescribe medication. However this NP told one of the family members it wasnt a disorder. We got a second opinion who said it was. That NP is not licensed to be able to tell him it's not anything. Should have told him to go to a therapist for a diagnosis and even then they should be able to prescribe medication for that disorder. These people are like cardboard signs. Fake and all smiles. When asked questions about your own treatment they freeze. No matter how much homework you do on medicine and start asking if it could work for you. They start with saying we don’t recommend that but let’s try this. It’s a up and down game that brings in money for them. With return visits for med change. They only prescribe pills that give them kick backs and are not focusing on the mental health or the real reason people are going into their office. Everyone in the office as you check in acts like it’s a inconvenience for you to be standing in front of them. Talking to anyone on the phone gets you NO WHERE. No one answers the phone and all calls go to voicemail. If you are lucky to speak to someone all you get is scripted conversation. I was literally told to limit what I say, or else I would not be prescribed what I wanted. This is a pill mill. Pure and simple. Physicians should fully understand the mechanism of action of the drugs they prescribe rather than relying on the described indications provided by the drug company. These people will hear what they want, not what you say, and their ignorant nonsense will be attributed to you on your official medical record. Be careful. Ask them to print a full record of medical treatment EVERY VISIT and see for yourself. UPDATE: After the nonsense this office put on my file, I am unable to receive ANY medical treatment. BEWARE! I called as new patient and I have never been treated so rudely by Maleine their new patient screener and scheduler. She criticized my previous Doctors treatment, told me my insurance would not pay; that was a blatant lie I just had made a call to my insurance company and I was covered. When I told her we lived on a fixed income her response was, “Well why don’t you go out and get a job?” At that point I had been insulted enough. I told her I care for my 15 month grandchild 40+ hours a week and her response was you’ll need to find a way to pay the bills. I wouldn’t take my dogs to that office. Fawver's EXTREMELY smart. Hosts a PBS call-in television program. His previous experience and training as a Pharmacist make him more qualified than Psychiatrists without Pharmacist degrees. I have been a patient for 6 years and am VERY happy with my care and progress. Nurse practitioners are excellent. Try Joey Dehoff. One phone nurse I spoke to was short with me one day. She's human. Busy office. 10,000+ patients. One reason why? Only 50 Psychiatry graduates in a recent year in the USA!

At one time, a decent practice, but now this is a pseudo-psychiatry pill factory. Clinicians are propped up by computer-generated diagnoses and prescription options. Profits are ahead of patients, with patient well-being an afterthought. I don't like being a number and pushed out the door with a smile and a script. I strongly suggest finding a psychiatric practice where the focus is on you and you're care.

Was referred to him by my counselor.. and called to try to make an appointment and the receptionist was just absolutely rude and wouldn't give us the time of day to even talk.. she made us seem dumb and made us feel like we didn't know what we were talking about.. so again terrible experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fawvers for a little over a year now and this office is the best experience I have had with any doctor or staff. The first appointment is about 2 hours. You fill out a survey, are asked detailed questions, and then you meet with Dr. Fawver. The meeting with Fawver lasts about 20 minutes. He really listens, is nonjudgmental, and knows more about medicine than anyone I've met. Staff is great and truly caring. I can't recommend this office enough!

I was referred to Dr. Fawver b/c I heard he was one of the best doctors for psychiatry in Ft. Wayne. My appt took almost 2hrs since it was my first appt. Dr. Fawver spent maybe 5 mins with me & then decided on a course of treatment. I didn't agree w/ the course of treatment set forth & asked what other options I had? I was told that what he decided was office policy & I was to do it or else. Needless to say I'm getting a second opinion. I don't like being backed into a corner.

Dr. Fawver and Staff are the absolute best in the industry. They actually listened to my concerns (medication was not working, I felt worse), did a thorough assessment, and finally filled in the missing pieces that I desperately needed to get on track. Mental illness is no joke so it was very important to me to find out everything and map out a plan of success to manage every day life. I have a long way to go, but his honesty, professionalism, and education/experience led me to answers.

He was the first Doctor to actually listen to me. I feel cared about by the staff. I would highly recommend his clinic to every person who is looking for help with any kind of depression, anxiety or any mental disorder.
