I’ve been Dr. Cacioppo’s patient for two years, from bilateral mastectomy to DIEP flap reconstruction. He’s a phenomenal surgeon as well as caring and compassionate. He helped me laugh at times and also reassured me that he would take care of me all the way through the process. Once I got to know him, I knew that no matter what happened, I could at least trust that I had found an excellent surgeon that I could trust without reservation. Highly, highly recommend.

Dr. Cacioppo made me feel confident in my decision to have DIEP reconstruction. My entire experience was 5 star and I couldn’t be happier with my results!

Dr Cacioppo performed my surgery in Feb 2020. I postponed my surgery date two different times, and his scheduler was wonderful to accommodate me. They were always prompt in answering my questions and returning my calls. The surgery went as planned and my healing was just as predicted. Everything was perfect. I am very pleased that I chose Dr Cacioppo as my surgeon, and I highly recommend him.

He came well recommended; however right after my reconstruction he left his practice and I was left with a very disappointing results.My implant was way too high and did not look right from the start(he even admitted this).The implant has since shifted and is uncomortable.I cannot wear anything tight fitting as you can really see how lopsided I am. I have seen two breast reconstruction specialists and both agree that my implant needs to be removed and redone.This is extremely upsetting. Dr.Cacciopo always seemed rushed and for someone well qualified he should have,at the very least,followed my case and should have made sure his patient was happy with the results. I have been through a complete reconstruction for a bilateral mastectomy, a few revision procedures and several follow up visits with Dr C. We started 9 years ago while he was still at IU. I have never been anything but pleased with his skill, his appitude for listening and addressing concerns and his artistic skill. I cannot imagine NOT using him. I recommend him to all of my breast cancer reconstruction needing friends. My reservations are not about his surgical skills, but about his bedside manner. He wasn't kind when I cried after I had complications after surgery. He labelled me as depressed as if I was somehow damaged. It was difficult enough having cancer, but to have additional things to face felt overwhelming.
