She was a hospitalist treating my husband who has Parkinson’s and was recovering from a second broken hip. She basically said he needed to go to nursing home, that I would not be able to care for him at home, and if I couldn’t choose a facility Carle would choose one for me. I would love to send her pictures of him now at home helping me cook, riding his exercise bike, and enjoying eating in a restaurant. Even though she, as a health care professional, totally wrote him off, I refused to do that. I wish she would see this post and learn to develop some compassion and listen to what family members want for their loved one.
