For just shy of nine years I worked with Dr. Young. He was a tough boss. He expected top work out of his staff, because that's what he gave to his patients. He made me a better employee because of his expectations. We loved our patients at our office and I think that it showed. We went the extra mile to treat our patients as we would like to be treated elsewhere, and that is something that most people have come NOT to expect anymore. I respected my doctor and his responsibilities, I loved my coworkers who were my friends, and our Practice Administrator Beth, who was by Dr. Young's side for 35 years, was as lovely a person as she was a demanding boss. It's what made our office shine. It was an honor to have worked there among this fantastic doctor and staff and it was an honor to have served our patients well.

I took my husband to Dr. Young only to find out he is stuck in the 1950’s. He is in his 80’s after all. He would not even consider an MRI for my husband to see if he has prostate cancer even though it is today the preferred method because it is less invasive and much more accurate. He puts money over patient’s well-being and Doctors should never do that! I would not recommend him to anyone. I took my husband to Dr. Young only to find out he is stuck in the 1950’s. I have been thinking about seeing him for two years for the Rezum procedure. I finally did it. I should have done it two years ago. Great results. Very satisfied with Dr. Young. All appointments were on time. Very friendly, knowledgeable office staff. Any time I called with a question, they got back to me in a timely fashion.

I began seeing Dr. Young in 2011 due to urinary problems resulting from an enlarged prostate. As a result he performed the Prostiva RF procedure which returned my urinary performance to normal. Nine years later I still have normal urinary performance; however, during my regular semi-annual checkup he became suspicious about my increase in PSA number. He performed an ultrasound that further raised his concern so he performed a biopsy. Of 12 samples 2 indicated cancer cells with a Gleason score of 7. He then prescribed a pelvic CT and full bone nuclear scan. He later reviewed the imaging results with me and happily said that they indicated no spread of the cancer. I asked for a referral to a prostatectomy surgeon, which he provided. I met with the surgeon with whom I was favorably impressed. I will soon have the surgery. I have been a patient of Dr Young for 7 years. I finished the Resume procedure with him and his staff a month ago. I am very satisfied with the results of the procedure and the care and professionalism of Dr. Young and his entire staff. I would highly recommend this procedure to anyone that is having prostate flow issues.

The staff and leadership were very professional, efficient, and friendly. The Rezum procedure itself, was quite quickly performed, however there were pre and post testing that were necessary but a bit embarrassing. Just a headsup for those interested. The urologist and his team made me feel as comfortable as possible through the entire experience. I do feel that the Rezum procedure will give me my life back. I was developing a few urological problems as I aged, one of which was frequent urination. I read the reviews for Dr. Young and scheduled a visit. He ran me through a series of tests to determine the health of my prostate and bladder. He was very thorough and recommended I have the Rezum procedure done to treat the source of frequent urination, my enlarged prostate. Dr. Young explained how the procedure worked and what to expect during and after the procedure. It’s been 7 months since I had the Rezum procedure and my urine stream has greatly improved, I sleep soundly through the night, and I have no problems playing 18 holes of golf without worrying about the next restroom. I would highly recommend Dr. Young for any urological problem. After having the Rezum procedure done I was honestly liberated from constantly worrying about urination. I sleep soundly through the night; I can walk 3 mikes without looking for a bathroom; I can play 18 holes of golf without keeping an eye out for the next restroom. Dr. Young is very patient, personable, and highly professional. His explantations were clear, precise and understandable. He took as much time as needed to help me and my wife understand each step in the process while ensuring my expectations were reasonable. He is very supportive, highly skilled and a caring physician. Went to Dr Young with an enlarged prostate for well over 10 years and a PSA over 10. Had the normal waking at night 3 or 4 times a night. DrYoung performed the Rezum procedure 4 months ago. My PSA has gone down to 2, and am only waking up once a night. Very happy with the results.

At the age of 68 ,I have a very large prostate and have been on Flomax for several years ,but started having issues with lockup. After reading reviews , I went to Dr. Young and he recommended having the Rezum procedure done to open up the prostate. After reading reviews from other people that had this procedure done, I decided to have it done. Dr. Young explained how the procedure would go and what to do, and not do after the procedure . He also asked if I had any questions or concerns . Dr. Young and the whole staff are very friendly and caring . I recommend Dr. Young to anyone with a prostate issue! While this procedure isn't the most pleasant it only takes about 5 minutes . I've been off Flomax since the day before the procedure . My flow was immediately increased to that of a 40yr. old , and one month out it's like i was a 20 yr. old again. It's been 9wks now and I have had no negative issues with this procedure at all ! My only regret is that I didn't have this done sooner!

Dr. Young was thorough and detailed in his explanation of the procedure to remove much of an enlarged prostate that was crimping my urinary tract. This helped manage our expectations greatly and put us at as much ease as can be expected with this 'delicate' procedure. His staff was professional, polite, and very helpful during each visit. Six months ago, at age 80, I had the Rezum procedure performed by Dr. James Young at his surgery in Lady Lake, Florida (I live in Longwood, Fl.), so it’s time to review progress. Major success. There’s no way a prostate reduction procedure can be fun, but Dr. Young and his charming and capable team made it as bearable as possible. He is a specialist in his field – adult male urology – with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour. I had been taking pills (Terazosin) for twenty years and they were increasingly ineffective. I had two hopes – for improved flow, and not having to get up so often at night (three or more times.) Flow improved almost immediately. For the need for night-time bathroom trips to reach twice only and often once only took longer – almost four months. But that makes all the difference and I now get a good night’s sleep just about every night, with no pills. Very glad I got it done. Thanks, Doctor!

Dr. Young perform a procedure called Rezum. I was very pleased with him and his staff. I enjoyed the way he and his staff talk me through it from start to finish. He performed the procedure on me in middle of October of this year and is November now and I’m already healing and feeling great before the procedure I had problems urinating and waking up three or four times in the middle of the night now I can actually sleep through the night and if I had any questions him and his staff was always there to answer questions to make me feel at ease. As a Dr. Young patient I had the Rezum Procedure. I will not try to explain the procedure that would be above my pay grade. I will say that before the procedure Dr. Young sat down with me and explained the procedure to me, made multiple sketches and provided printed directions for me to follow before and days after the procedure. One of the prescription I had was for pain pills. The printed direction I was given directed me when to take the first one, that was the only pain pill I needed to take. The desired urine flow, as predicted took about 6 weeks to achieve. It is worth the trip just to associate with Dr. Young’s staff. I have enjoyed humorous conversations with them every visit.

I would highly recommend Dr. Young and all his staff. The results I received from his care are astonishing. As a result of the Rezum Therapy I am able to urinate on my own for the first time in over ten years. Imagine that, I no longer have to carry a catheter to appointments, social gatherings, and sporting events.

After relocating to Central Florida from the Virgin Islands, Dr. Youg who was Highly Recommended to me by John Santos Primary Care. I had been seeing another Uroligist and due , to the Covid-19 was not able to see them again and Dr. Young saw me right away. His office Staff could not be any Better.

On July 27, 2020 I had the REZUM procedure performed by Dr James Young. Prior to the procedure I experienced urinary frequency coupled with urgency, weak flow and at night having to get up every two hours to urinate. Now seven weeks later I only get up once at night. I have a strong flow and no longer have the urgent frequency. The office staff and nurses were all very professional, competent and compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Young to my friends.

Everyone on Dr. Young’s staff is not only friendly and helpful, but also knowledgeable. Dr. Young makes sure you are a candidate for your surgery through thorough testing. He answers all of your questions, and makes sure you are comfortable with the procedure you are about to go through. Very professional, yet tells it like it is. Love that about him.

For a male making a prostate appointment doesn't come easy. Doctor Young's Staff made an embarrassing situation very comfortable. I had the Rezum treatment done (which I didn't think I needed) but what a difference it made in voiding my bladder. I would highly recommend Dr. Young and the Rezum treatment if you were having trouble voiding your bladder. I start my radiation this week. I trust the wisdom of Dr. Young and his staff.

There was a time when I would have given this doctor 5 stars. Early on the staff and the doctor were great. I have a particular concern and they were able to help me. I felt they genuinely cared. Then something changed after I complained about the conduct of a medical assistant. The conduct was poor and needed to be changed. If I hadn't said anything the poor conduct would have continued until someone else complained. A nurse, who I had developed a good professional relationship with, suddenly seemed uncomfortable while caring for me. Then when I went in for a TRUSP/Biopsy, my blood pressure was way high so they didn't do the procedure. A few days later the doctor terminated our relationship. The last TRUSP they prescribed Valium which no doubt helped with the BP. The Valium was NOT prescribed for the later procedure. It is my belief the doctor withheld the Valium so he would have an excuse to dump me. That's a cruel way to treat a cancer patient!

From my initial visit to my one month follow up appointment after my procedure, all went well, the staff and Dr. Young explained everything in detail, and answered all questions which I had. The results of the rezum procedure are fantastic, all is as expected.

I visited Dr. Young due to problems with urination. After tests and a cystoscopy he recommended I have the Rezum Therapy Procedure. I had that on May 4th and returned on the 6th to have the stent put in place to aid in the healing of the prostate. While the procedure and stent insertion were uncomfortable, they were not overly painful. With the stent in place, I had to self catheter and measure urine discharge for several days - not fun, but you get used to it. My urine flow was the best it has been for many years and with little blood in the urine or discomfort. After the 4 weeks, the stent was removed (easiest part of the whole thing). During all this time I had weekly home visits from nurses from Concierge Home Care. All who visited were excellent and Celeste was exceptional. I saw Dr. Young again 4 weeks later and have another follow up visit in 3 months. I highly recommend this procedure and Dr. Young. His staff is excellent also.

While my healing after a recent REZUM procedure was somewhat lengthy, it was no longer than expected and I feel like a new guy again.My need to visit the bathroom ,day or night , has dropped down from hourly to about every four hours . It certainly has given to me a new lease on life "Doc" Young takes his job very seriously and his office staff is a perfect match. They are professional in every way, and offer a comfortable facility which is absolutely spotless. I will always recommend this facility to anyone in need of a urologist .

I highly recommend this organization. I recently had the Rezum procedure and am glad I did. It is now almost 8 weeks and the improvement is remarkable. Dr. Young and the entire staff were professional, compassionate and understanding of all my concerns and apprehensions throughout the entirety of the process. They take the time and run the appropriate tests such as uro-dynamics and prostate scan to be sure BPH and not other causes are the underlying factor rather than just do the procedure blindly. I appreciated the peace of mind this thoroughness and attention to detail provided. As an engineer I evaluated all the possible procedure options. Rezum is the one I chose based on the minimally invasive nature as well as the success history with the least chance for unwanted lasting side effects. If you're considering action to relieve your BPH, don't worry about anything and go here. I had another Urologist from a very large practice want me to have a cat scan of my prostate while anesthetized. This because my PSa had bounced up to 10.2. I had terrible experience a few years before with being unable to urinate from a gall bladder operation. I went to Dr.Young because I heard only rave reviews on his practice. He ordered another PSA immediately, and the new results were 6.8. Now, no need for the cat scan at all. I learned how to catheterize myself in order to prepare for the Rezzum procedure in order to have a much higher flow rate with zero retention. I had the procedure about nine months ago, with success on all fronts. I was able to eliminate Finasteride and/or Rapaflow, each of which has dizzyness as a side effect, and contributed to a couple of nasty falls I had had. I found Dr.Young and his practice Excellent. They can check your urine in house and institute THE PROPER antibiotic immediately. Prior experience with other groups would arbitrarily order and antibiotic on a trail an error basis. While scanning through the pages of the Ocala Magazine, I saw Dr. Young’s advertisement for the Rezūm Water Vapor Therapy. After suffering with BPH issues such as frequent trips to the bathroom and interrupted sleep, I researched the procedure and scheduled an appointment. After a couple of preliminary appointments, I had the Rezūm Water Vapor Therapy Procedure. Within a matter of weeks, I was urinating more comfortably than I had in probably 9 years. After running several tests to determine the cause of my problem Dr Young suggested a relatively new procedure called Rezum. I was having prostate problems and was seeing another urologist. He recommended the Urolift procedure for my condition. Within 6 months of having the procedure, I was having the same problems and the doctor now recommended TURP. I didn't like that option so I looked elsewhere and found Dr. Young and the Rezum procedure. Although there were some questions about doing Rezum treatment after my Urolift procedure, I opted to try it and was happy I did. Easy procedure with little to no pain and, a year later, lasting results. Dr. Young was great, provided comprehensive information on what I could expect and his staff were friendly and helpful. I went to Dr Young after researching the Rezum procedure online. The doctor and his staff exceeded my expectations in all respects. I am a retired physician so my expectations were fairly high. Dr Young explained the condition and proposed treatment thoroughly and accurately in simple terms. After testing to determine the extent of my problem and overall urinary health the Rezum procedure was performed on 11/18 2019. The procedure and recovery went just as they had been described. I am currently 7 weeks post and am very happy with the results and I understand that improvement will continue for the next few months. I now make 2 or less trips per night, down from 3 or more, I have been able to sit straight through several 2.5 hour movies, my flow is better than it has been in 20 years. I wanted to update you on my progress since my REZUM procedure on October 21, 2019. During my REZUM procedure you stated that I had a very large prostate and that you used the maximum number of "injections" . My progress was very slow after the procedure and I expected to have great relief of my BPH symptoms at 3 months as most patients seem to do. I was disappointed at that time. At around 5 months I realized that my symptoms (Frequency and Urgency) had noticeable improved and I was greatly relieved and happy I had done the procedure. My symptoms have continued to improve and now at 8 months post procedure I actually feel "normal" again. I get up once at night now (vs. 4 times). I don't know how unusual it is for symptoms to take this long to subside, but I wanted to let you know that this has been my experience. I am thankful for having this procedure, and thankful to you and your wonderful staff. I will continue to recommend you and REZUM.

I consider Dr. Young and his staff to be excellent, especially having to do their jobs during this pandemic. They all were always professional, helpful, pleasant and easy to work with. It has only been seven weeks since the rezum procedure and the results have been extremely satisfactory and welcoming. The staff was very good. They made you feel comfortable and they were very professional. Dr. Young and Emily are excellent, and they listen and help you in a very comforting manner. The Rezum procedure vs. the alternative of in hospital surgery or medication was worth it. No medications needed and the results are very good. I would highly recommend Dr. Young and his staff as being very professional and having aftercare well documented and ready for you as you leave the office.

I have been seeing Dr. Young for prostatitis and general prostate health for many years. I was quite hesitate in having anything invasive about my BPH problems until a few months ago. Dr. Young recently performed the Rezum Vapor Therapy on me and I was pleasantly surprised how easy the procedure was performed. Dr. Young and his staff where very detailed and professional in explaining the process before and during the procedure. It has only been a few weeks since the procedure was performed and I have already seen a big improvement in my urgency to urinate. I have been so glad to have found Dr Young.  Prior to my hip replacement surgery i did not realize I had a problem.  After the surgery, my bladder had trouble waking up. After being relieved of 2700 cc by catheter, at my primary care Dr., I was referred to a urologist.  When at Dr. Young's my first release by catheter was 2400.cc.  And my PSA scores were very, very high.  Dr. Young gave me instructions to retrain my bladder.  Antibiotics brought the PSA numbers down.  Finally, Dr. Young indicated he could safely perform the rezum procedure on my prostate.     Dr. Young, at my first meeting, told me the previous doctors had done me a disservice, by not addressing the issue much earlier, and as bad as things were, he anticipated I would need to use the catheter the rest of my life....  I am VERY pleased to report the REZUM process was nearly painless, the in home follow up was very professional and I feel like a new man.  I would recommend Dr. Young.  You would get an honest assessment.

As a physician, I did my homework to find Dr. Young and his expertise with the Rezum procedure. Impressed and pleased with his office staff, and his insistence (over my feeble objections) upon complete workup (cysto, urodynamics, and Bx) despite my "normal" PSA and apparently cancer free MRI of a damn big 85 gram prostate gland. He then reviewed the options, and proceeded to schedule a successful Rezum. I drive one hour there and one hour back to his office, and would consider double the time and distance if I had to. It would be a bargain. In this day and age of depersonalized and digitized medicine, James Young and Staff are a happy and competent breath of fresh air. And did I mention the Keurig coffee?

Not an honest person!

Dr. Young is the person that you want to do your Rezume procedure!!! He is very detailed and informative. You know exactly what is going on and what to expect thru the entire process. I was very hesitant to go, but my wife did the research and Dr. Young kept coming up as the doctor to go see. I cannot say enough about his professional and have the absolute best bedside manner. The entire office atmosphere is very calming and they all do their best to make sure you are successful! If you are have any urological problems, this is the doctor to see.

I am from Kentucky and was visiting a relative in Tampa when I began to have trouble with my prostate. It was very enlarged and had gotten worse over the years.
