he did my implants....ALL of which have had to be replaced! They were not put in properly which created more problems. This has been a very expensive lesson. Stay away from this guy. I had to put a star to write the review...he certainly doesn't deserve one!

I nearly died in 2020 I was referred for wisdom tooth removal and impaction having an infection under one tooth. After I was in so much pain I could barely keep water down . And he forgot to call in antibiotics. I couldn't breathe because my throat was swelling. Went in for an emergency appointment and was waiting a long time even though we got there right on time of not a little before. For an EMERGENCY appointment. My mom had to go in and ask twice. (This was during covid so we had to wait outside) I finally stumbled into the lobby and passed out. They finally took me back. I was faced away from the door in the chair for I don't know how long I was back there by myself. I couldn't breathe and I passed out again in the chair. They finally did the emergency new surgery. I went home and two days later was in the ICU as the swelling continued. They almost had to intubate me. I remember one of the nurses coming in, gasping, "what happened to her face? I was in the hospital 5 days and my recovery after was slow. They even tried to charged me for the dentist coming to see me in the hospital. Two months later I noticed I'd been having pain going up my leg. Not long after being told it was, sciatica, I knew it was different. I wound up turning blue in my doctor's office. It was DVT all the way up my leg and multiple pulmonary embolisms in my lungs. I was hospitalized and put on blood thinners twice. I will have to go back on them if I ever get pregnant. I'm 23. I had to use a wheelchair for a long time and I am still having side effects today. Wish I had never sat in his chair. terrible job on my implants and now have to have them redone by a competent doctor. Do your research.....

Staff is excellent but never had to pay before a procedure! I find Dr Walter very professional but short. His staff more than makes up for his busyness and the assistant who helped today was extremely compassionate and caring. I will see how everything turns out. We were assured this is the best place in the Triad.

Superior service and follow up on two oral surgery experiences with Dr. Walter.

I first saw Dr. Walter in 2011, when I was struggling with continued pain following a wisdom tooth extraction. I had returned several times to the dentist who performed the extraction, and she could find nothing wrong. On a co-worker's recommendation, I saw Dr. Walter and was relieved by his expertise and quick analysis of my problem. (I believe he is able to leap tall buildings and has x-ray vision.) He performed surgery and dug out bits of bone and infection in my jaw. At the same time, he removed a remaining wisdom tooth. I have never forgotten his good advice to take pain medication BEFORE the pain becomes severe. His staff gave me a dose of Vicodin before I left the office that day, and I may have had to take one more. I had absolutely no complications (no bruising or swelling and only very minor pain) and healed quickly. A couple of years ago I began having swelling and pain on the right side of my face that baffled both my primary care doctor and my dentist. I decided to see Dr. Walter again, and he immediately diagnosed parotitis. He explained the problem and advised me to drink large amounts of water and suck on sour candy. That treatment has worked well until very recently. Now the problem has become chronic, and tomorrow I will schedule another appointment with Dr. Walter. Dr. Walters pulled my mothers tooth and everything went fine. But the staff and scheduling was less than helpful. We waited a hour before they even called her back. It was a check up that lasted all of three minutes. Just seemed a bit unprofessional.

I like this guy. He installed two upper implants with no problems at all. Exceptional work!

surgery was fine screwed up the bill even though i paid what i was told was the full bill i asked twice. all i get was a sorry well sorry still cost me alot more money that what i was told and i asked twice when i give an estamite for a job and if i go over i eat the cost must be nice to be in the "health industy" medical work great watch your wallet though when the first paper they make you sign is a paper that says you have to pay what we tell you you shoudl find somewhere else i wish i did surgery was fine screwed up the bill even though i paid what i was told was the full bill i asked twice. … More

I have been to two different oral surgeons in the local Winston-Salem area. Although both did a fine job, what set Dr. Walter apart from the other practice was his superior bed side manner, and his friendly staff. Dr. Walter clearly has a passion for what he does. It shows in his consults with patients. The staff are always willing to help and will answer any questions I have. They clearly operate as a congruent group. I totally recommend Dr. Walter for any oral surgery needs. I have been to two different oral surgeons in the local Winston-Salem area.
