Dr Vest is the best doctor I have ever had in my entire life! He will take the time to listen and talk to you about your problems. He is a very intelligent doctor who knows medicine and even has his own lab right there on the premises. He has saved my life atleast a couple times! I would be devastated to loose him as my doctor!!!

Awful. Avoid this soon to be closed craphole!

Jim Vest is the best PCP I’ve known in Horry County. In over 30yrs on the Grand Strand and a few Family docs VEST is the guy that CARES about you and your family. PLEASE go see him if you want a Doctor with bedside manners with knowledge. With no Bulls##t. Still going strong.

Dr Vest personifies the Candy Man. He made my husband a junkie. He would give me 30 pain killers for a wart removal with another 30 to refill.

Terrible doctor - unethical and unprofessional. My son was 3 days out of a 14 quarantine, he had been feeling great for over a week. I made an appointment so he can get the clear to go back to doing sports. The doctor's secretary called me the day before of my son's appointment to say the doctor doesn't want to see sick patients and asked that I waited another week before bringing my son in. I made an appointment so he can get the clear to go back to doing sports. The doctor's secretary called me the day before of my son's appointment to say the doctor doesn't want to see sick patients and asked that I waited another week before bringing my son in. This doctor’s office is horrible. If you can get an appointment, are prescribed meds, the prescription will not be submitted to the pharmacy unless you call several times or go several times back to the office to ask them to do so. They do not answer the phone. At all.

Recently had the pleasure of meeting this office. I had forgotten of setting my husband up with this office since our move from another state to Myrtle Beach. This office is effecient. Professional. Courteous. I came in with a spider bite after a hospital stay. The care Dr. Vest and his Nurse gave was so kind, so gentle even though I scream there care of me has been excellent it was and is my top choice for care. My mom and I went to him, he was fine with me, and I thought my mom aswell until I found out she was on high doses of xans, and oxi. He just handed it to her like candy. Didn't want to go down to the root. Just put a bandaid on it. She lost her memory because of that and he told her, when she went to the hospital because if withdrawals, "I thought I could trust you". EXCUSE ME. Anyways, just a warning to those who are currently going to him and those thinking about it. I thought he was an amazing doctor but then I saw it was gilded.

Dr. Vest abandoned me before the cyst on my spine was found. Dr.Cheatle, the neurosurgeon, missed it. I had been a patient for over 8 years. I wasn't even given the courtesy of him explaining to me why he would no longer see me! He left me high and dry. It's extremely difficult to find another doctor when you are dismissed by one. My surgery is next month.... after two long years of hell. It is down right litigious what happened to me. I do NOT recommend!... Update... I'm presently 2 weeks post- op and require absolutley NO controlled substances. Spinal cord surgeon, Dr. Todd Cook, gave me back my life. I do highly recommend him at OrthoSC in Murrells Inlet. Doctors will not take Medicaid and Medicare patience, that is new patients only care about money not people

Went in with chest pains. Doctor Vest and office staff immediately set up stress test and cardiology appointment. After test came back negative, he recommended we do gall bladder tests. Felt he listened to me and took my pain seriously.

My long term doctor left and I had some bad experiences after until I saw Dr. Vest. He was thorough but calm and kind. The staff were very nice. Looking forward to a good health care program!

If you value your time or sanity, I would not recommend visiting this office. The first time I went there I saw Dr. Vest, after waiting over an hour in the waiting room I questioned the receptionist on my appointment and she explained that the computers had gone down the week before so they double and triple booked appointments since they didn’t have access to the appointment they had already made. After waiting another 2 hours I was taken back to a room where I waited for 30 more minutes. Once Dr Vest came in, he did a short little exam, as I was a new patient. He spent approximately 5 minutes with me and didn’t really seem to care. So the second time I went there I opted to see the nurse practitioner. I really liked her and she was very thorough. So recently my pharmacy called and said a medication I was on had been discontinued and I needed to call my doctor to get a prescription for a comparable brand. I called, spoke with the receptionist and she said I would have to have an appointment, I asked if I would have to pay another co-pay just to get this prescription, she said “no there will be no co-pay just to get a new prescription.” I questioned her, because I had just recently had the appointment to get this medicine & nothing in my medical history had changed since, it seemed like they would just have to call in another brand. The receptionist would not check with anyone else and made an appointment. I went for this unnecessary appointment, had to wait an unreasonable amount of time was taken back for weight, blood pressure etc. Then once in the room had to wait and wait until I decided to leave. The nurse practitioner saw me and asked me what was going on, I told her I needed to get to work and had to leave. So she looked over my chart said she would call me something new into the pharmacy. She also said that I didnt have had to come in for this, that she could have handled it over the phone. So at check out I was told to pay my copay. I told her that I was told there would not be a co-pay. This is when I was told that since I did come in and see someone(even though I did not want to and did not need to) that there was a charge. The staff in this office really need to figure out how to do there job!!! If you value your time or sanity, I would not recommend visiting this office. I found Doctor Vest to be very through with his examination. Doctor Vest took time and explained all procedures performed at time of visit.

I was a patient of Dr. Vest for 4 years in his Carolinas Forest office I moved to Surfside and switched offices. Dr. Vest is awesome. Has taken care of me for my entire 23 years. Wouldn't go to anyone else!

Dr. Vest and staff are always professional and caring concerning our medical issues. If we have a medical issue that we believe is immediate, they seem to try to schedule us as soon as possible in one of their offices. During our office visits, Dr. Vest is always extremely thorough. So to sum up, no complaints here.

Absolute worst experience with a Dr I’ve ever had. Poor bedside manner, Instead of helping me with my issues he told me to just follow up with my other drs. He prescribed me a bunch of strong medicines and sent me on my way. I was not looking for all the new, strong, very addictive medicine. I was looking for an answer. Never once asked anymore questions and blew off being hospitalized several times over the past year. Wonder why there is an opioid crisis going on.. what a shame. will not return

There are 2 kinds of doctors, those who care and those who don't. Dr. Vest has always been there to help me with my illnesses. He always tries to find out what's wrong and he truly tries to help you. He has always done his best, more than other doctors I have been to. I can always depend on him. Been going to him for 20 yrs.

Does not treat his patients as if they are people. If you have questions he tries to rush through your appointment and his #1 concern is not your health but collecting a payment. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to him.

I met Dr Vest back in 2002 when he was taking care of my mother in an area long-term care facility. I liked his approach, he was easy to talk with and he cared about his patient and their family equally. I lost track of him after Mom died, but when the GP I was going to retired and Dr Vest picked up his patients, including me, I was happy. Dr Vest listens, he cares, he doesn't condescend, he's real and he knows what he's doing. Can't ask for more than that.

I said I was there for my annual physical exam. I was asked, Well, what do you want me to do? Oh, you know, BP, blood work, that kind of stuff. I shouldn't have to tell him. Seems to operate more from a philosophy of What's broke, we'' fix it.
