Dr. James C Tyson

First office visit a bit abrupt but that’s just surgeons lol. His knowledge is amazing and within the first minute had pinpointed my issue, and offered the exact solution I was hoping to hear! Day of surgery I was very anxious, and his humour was great, and put my full trust in him. His work was amazing and fully recommend for anyone going to him for surgeries. Side note StMarys Hospital staff were all incredible too the day of surgery. Only comment is the pre admission testing staff were a complete shambles, making up weights, taking personal calls in the room, not doing vitals, reminding them I need blood work etc ! But no reflection on Dr Tyson at all.

I was extremely pleased with Dr James Tyson and his staff. The staff was very nice and helpful. Dr. Tyson was exceptional! I was very pleased with his manners and the thoroughness of his examination. I came in with concerns and questions and left feeling relieved. He was knowledgeable and kind. He did not act rushed or unconcerned. I didn’t think I could find an ENT doctor to replace my wonderful doctor who retired, but I did. He is Dr. Tyson. I highly recommend Dr Tyson.

Dr Tyson came in and I explained what had happened and how uncomfortable his aide made me feel. He never apologized and just started his examination. He then said, in an almost in a threatening yet humorous manner as he was putting on his gloves, “When you see both gloves going on, you know it’s not going to be pleasant” What terrible bedside manners!!! Now I was even more terrified. After a few minutes of examination, he told me that I had “reflux’ and asked me to start taking OTC Omeprazole for 14 days. I knew this was the wrong diagnosis since my husband has had acid reflux for over 20 years and my symptoms were nothing related to acid reflux. And to merely recommend Omeprazole was unprofessional and uniformed. Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazole can be very damaging and should not be recommended callously. Needless to say, I didn’t take any omeprazole and the symptoms I had experienced, which was the reason I set up the appointment never returned.

I felt like Doctor Tyson gave me a thorough exam and explained everything well. He's very professional and I was pleased with my experience.

My daughter had an appointment with Dr. Tyson because the preferred doctor was not available. When he came in the room and asked what was wrong, I begin to explain her symptoms, he abruptly cuts me off and looks at my 12 year old and says what’s the problem. During the visit he acted as if I (the parent) was not in the room. He made comments to us in a condescending manner. This was my second and last visit with Dr. Tyson. Bedside manners are left to be desired.

I was treated by Dr. Tyson for middle ear infections. I found him to be competent and efficient. This is a very busy practice and the doctors don't seem to have a lot of time to talk, but that did not take away from the good treatment I received.

I have to agree with the other reviewers that gave Dr. Tyson a low score. My impression of him and the practice is that it is just a mill that runs patients through at breakneck speed to maximize the bucks. I actually had to run to keep up with him as he was leading me to the hearing test area. Also,t though the practice appears to be reviewing these comments, it does not seem to be doing anything to improve.

Dr. Tyson is a caring,efficient physician with a delightful bedside manner. Willing to discuss possibilities for treatment.

Dr. Jim Tyson saved my life over 20 years ago from a rare cancer. He was than a great physician and still very much so. Always helpful in answering my questions over the years and very clear on explaining what I need to do when ever I have a problem. It has always been easy to get an appointment and very little wait time in his office.

Very efficient and thorough.

Seemed very rushed. Took my 5 week old for possible lip and tongue tie. I had questions just like any mom would. He came in rushed said let me see looked at his lip and tongue and said no tongue tie yes lip tie but only fix it later if having issues. He’s having issues now with eating that’s why we went in the first place. He did not take time to answer any of my questions which is very frustrating as a first time mom. Very unsatisfied.

I have met many Doctors in a variety of specialties over the years. I was disappointed with the professionalism and bedside manner of Dr. Tyson. He cursed not once but twice during the visit. Maybe this his idea of developing rapport or building trust with his patients but it comes across as just rude and careless. I won’t recommend him to anyone and we won’t be back.

I was very disappointed in my experience with Dr. Tyson. He is clearly knowledgeable, but he is abrasive and barely listened to my concerns at all. He had one foot in the door and one foot out the door during the entire consultation, rapidly arrived at a diagnosis, and would have been happy to leave me with zero explanation of what was going on had I not called him back in to give me some more information. It was a very frustrating way to spend $50.

My experience with Dr. Tyson was excellent.h

My mom is a patient of Dr. Tyson and she went in to get the results of a biopsy that had been done. He abruptly advised her that she had lymphoma, chuckled at the fact that he would not be seeing her again as she would need to follow up with a medical oncologist and did not give any opportunity for her to ask any questions. He was not compassionate at all. He was in and out as if he didn't have the time to sit and explain things. Poor bed side manner.

Dr. Tyson is very friendly and I have no doubts knowledgeable. It was rushed though and I didn't address everything I wanted to. But I share the responsibility for that and will be more aggressive my next visit.

If I could leave a zero on this I would. Dr Tyson spent less than 3 minutes evaluating and assessing my problem. I went to his office trying to find an answer for tinnitus, which I had experienced for 5 days straight. All he said was that he didn’t know and that it might or may not go away. He didn’t ask about which medications I had been taking, nothing. I will probably end up paying $300-$400 for this visit, which was completely useless! Do not go to this doctor. You will waste yourtime

He was abrupt, asked no medical questions regarding why I was there to see him. Didn’t confirm what his nurse likely told him. I was informed of something that may take months to improve and no recommendation for a follow up.

Dr. Tyson performed middle ear surgery in 2003 and my hearing is still within normal range. He was extremely responsive and polite.

I am certain Dr. Tyson is a very skilled physician. Unfortunately Our experience was not very positive. After waiting over an hour, Dr. Tyson spent < 5 minutes assessing our medical concern. It was as if he had an answer and a canned response with little evaluation. We felt rushed and dismissed. We will not return and will seek a provider who will take their time and adequately address questions.
