I’ve visited Dr. Telfer 3 times and have left every appointment extremely disappointed and having very few of my problems resolved. When I’ve presented my issues (some of which were just to get a referral to a specialist as my insurance requires) Dr. Telfer has interacted in a way that has left me feeling belittled and talked down to. I feel that Dr. Telfer lacks the ability to care for people who do not fall in line with his personal philosophies. I would not recommend him as every other doctor I’ve seen within my health network has been understanding and caring; forcing me to feel that Dr. Telfer is lone in this way of care. Dr Telfer is the only doctor I've had in my entire life that takes the time to listen, believes you, and helps you as much as he can because he truly cares! I was worried about my health, he made time for me during his lunch to see me eating his sandwich while in front of me calling lab wanting results! Come to find out diagnosed Type II Diabetes he got me started on insulin calling me each night for 2 weeks to adjust dosage to get my blood sugar down from 400+ I have YET to every meet another doctor that has come REMOTELY Close to caring/helping as Dr Telfer has EVER. Wish he lives in TN where I do because current doctor "VA" is worthless and my health is declining! Seriously.. Dr T!!!! You are awesome! Dr Telfer is the only doctor I've had in my entire life that takes the time to listen, believes you, and helps you as much as he can because he truly cares! He listens well to get to know his patients and establish a good rapport. He respects and adapts his treatment to my preferences. He refers me to and consults with specialists when appropriate. He is typically booked 3-4 days out.
