Dr. James K Smith

I saw Dr. Smith for increasing autoimmune symptoms & severe pain. I told him I have white coat syndrome which causes my blood pressure to spike so took his jacket off in a snarky manner. When I mentioned how much pain I was in, he said “it can’t be that bad because you walked in here.” When I teared up from him telling me my symptoms were nothing but anxiety/depression, he said “well, you can’t have Sjögren’s syndrome because you’re crying.” He used Harry Potter references comparing me to a muggle and calling himself a wizard. He told me I just needed to lose weight & exercise. He didn’t look at my bloodwork from my PCP which had a positive ANA. I left his office feeling defeated and hopeless! My PCP referred me to a neurologist & after a slew of tests, I’ve been diagnosed with idiopathic /Autoimmune small nerve neuropathy & Dysautonomia. Guess my pain was real after all, Dr. Smith! Thanks for nothing! And now I’m off to find a rheumatologist that will actually try to help me!
