Great care, great staff

He is emensley helpful.

Dr. Sales is a wonderful, caring psychiatrist. He is the only one I trust for my ADHD kiddos. Very knowledgeable.

The doctor did not bother to consider any of the information we provided about our son. He wanted us to tell him if our son was ADHD or Bipolar. He has refused to even return a phone call. He saw our son while he was at the Top of the World Ranch, we have informed the staff how useless this guy is and how unprofessional his practice is. We asked that he call on an urgent matter his office staff replied he typically does not return calls regarding Individuals he sees at the Ranch but in any event he won’t call until Thursday that’s his ranch day. Office sent the bill to my father, stating he was responsible for the amount when he was not. During my “evaluation,” Dr. Sales never once asked about any of my symptoms or my current medications. Dr. Sales asked questions about faith and intrusive questions about personal relationships. In my follow-up appointment, Dr. Sales lied to me about reviewing my records and that he didn't know what doses my previous medications were and the time I was on the medications. My records contain all that information. When I called him out for it, he told me to leave and won't treat me as a patient. Please don't come here as Dr. Sales has the most fragile ego of any doctor I have ever seen, and the office is a disorganized mess. Unfortunately, I didn’t get far enough for a visit. I am military and received a referral for my son through Humana. When I attempted to make an appointment I was very rudely informed by his staff that he only accepts new patients if ‘they’re going to be in the area for at least 10 years’. Quite honestly, that’s a BS way of saying ‘we don’t want you’ because regardless of my military status no one is going to be able to guarantee they won’t move in 10 years.

Staff is unbelievably rude

Cindy @ the front desk of Ricuarte and Associates, is the worst human being I have ever had to tolerate. Dr Sales is weekend appointments only, so expect only THE WORST service from Cindy @ the front desk, with irregular and frankly annoying medication management. But Cindy said there are no withdrawals from psychiatric meds so guess she is Dr. Sales now. One star is a compliment. Dr. Sales is a very caring and professional psychiatrist. I have been seeing him for over 10 years. He only asks questions related to my condition. He has never been hostile or belligerent to me. He has helped me control my depression and anxiety. I would definitely recommend him.

He yelled at me for crying during an appointment, even with my mom present.

Hands down the worst psychiatry office I’ve ever been to. The reception staff members are incredibly rude, don’t communicate, and mess up billing. You’d think that if you worked at an office where people come because they’re struggling, you’d be a little kinder. Nope. Not here. Dr. Sales is controlling, rude, disorganized, and has no bedside manner at all. He doesn’t listen, cuts you off when you’re trying to explain things, and was consistently judgmental. Dr. Sales is a pleasant person, unless questioned about anything. He did not realize that he had me on benzodiazepines for 10 YEARS, I brought this to his attention recently. This caused him to cut my prescription causing seizures and panic attacks. He is toying with my health because he was ignorant to the long term effects of benzos 10 years ago. I am 22 years old and will probably never have a “normal” life, considering my developmental teen years were spent on massive quantities of Xanax. I have paperwork from Mayo Clinic diagnosing me with epilepsy which he CHOOSES to ignore continually. I brought a pharmacist newsletter AND a medical professional with me as well as listed possible treatments with all of the ones I’ve tried crossed out. He recommended I try every antidepressant again, including new generation ones with little to no info available about their effects. Condescending, disrespectful, and dehumanizing, are words that sum up my experiences with Sales. Worst experience I’ve ever had with a healthcare professional and staff. Seriously don’t waste your time and money. No matter what you say he’s going to put you on antidepressants. I wrote this review after my last appointment a year ago with no intention of posting it. I’m posting it now because he scheduled another appointment for me in July of last year without my consent. Worst doctor I’ve seen. I stopped seeing Dr. Sales months ago, but recently needed my records and help again. In my medical records, he wrote a lot of false information about my personal history. What he put down was so completely off from what I said about my own life, that it was laughable and I canceled my next appointment. They wanted me to send a letter about what was wrong in the records, but I forgot to do that. Later on, my family wanted me to make an appt. again but he refused to see me over not getting that letter. Also, his staff are always very blunt and rude on the phone. Dr. Sales doesn’t seem like he is passionate about his field of work. If he was, he would actually listen to his patients, be available more than 3 out of the 7 days in a week, and hire a new office staff. Worst doctor I’ve seen. I am very surprised by the negative review, since I had the opposite experience. I felt Dr. Sales took a lot of time with me reviewing my history and symptoms. His explanation of my condition was much more thorough than that of the first neurologist I saw. He was careful to explain terminology, and was very pleasant to me. I left with a clear plan of action and, for the first time in months of pursuing an answer to my symptoms, I felt as if I was finally heard, and helped. Current staff is much friendlier than the staff that used to be there A little more talking and explanation of what you’re suffering from would be good Overall I think it’s a good place to go

This guy is a terrible psychiatrist do not I repeat do not give him Business

His secretary wanted my medical records and insurance information but would not guarantee that I would get an appointment with in the next 6 months. I tried two separate times to set an appointment and his support staff were crass and not informed on both occasions.

I *only gave 1 star because it didn't give me the option of zero. Dr. Sales and his office are the most unprofessional medical office I have been too in the whole 34 years of my life. The morale of the office is very off, and the staff is seemingly strangely controlled in an unhealthy way, my guess is by Doctor. I went to him for medication for my child. Its important to me that we work together as a team to help my child get better, but instead he repeatedly made me feel like I don't know my child or anything about her ADHD or ADHD in general (I've done research on this for years). I wanted to do continual research on her ADHD with with the reports from the teacher that were in her file, so I called and requested all them from the office (as the parent, I have legal right to all of those reports and anything else I want in her file). They asked me why, which I thought odd, so I told them I wanted to continue with my research (plus I wanted them for the new psychiatrist I found a few weeks back that I didn’t want to tell him about until I got these papers in my hands). She said she would have to ask the doctor and check his policies, but she wasn't sure if he would give them to me. He ended up calling me back a little bit later and told me I had 30 days to find a new doctor. So, he was unwilling to send me the teacher reports which he can’t legally do. The headaches are not worth it folks. Sales doesn’t listen at all. Don’t ever ask to be changed to a different medication if you feel yours isn’t working or the side effects are bad. Don’t come in with the research you’ve done because that ticks him off. Don’t you dare question him about the meds you’re on. The staff never returns phone calls. This is just the tip of the iceberg of issues I have had with him and the staff, and we’ve only seen him 5 times folks. Take my advise, FIND SOMEONE ELSE! Robert Young is a great start. The wait to see someone there is TOTALLY worth it over seeing him. If you can't wait and need medication quicker, see about getting into a family practice doctor or pediatrician until you can get into a psychiatrist. The people here are fantastic Dr. Sale's is the best Physicist I have ever met or heard about!

So glad I met Dr. Sales. He really listens and makes me feel very relaxed and comfortable. He is really easy to talk to. He is very personable. So many in this field are not. I would highly recomend him. He is really booked up, but don't hesitate to make an appointment, because there may be cancellations and you can get in sooner.

Dr. Sales was unprofessional bordering on abusive. He used technical jargo and was condescending when I didn't understand, interupted while I answered his questions, challenged me verbally for statements I did not make, and injected his personal situation (saying he was a narcissist) during my only meeting with him. He was beligerent that I did not have, in writing, my 30+ year mental health history even though I had less than 24 hours notice for my appointment. Reporting to licensing board.

The office visit with Dr Sales was extremely positive, helpful, and beneficial! He listened very carefully, was a true professional in every possible way and made me feel comfortable the entire time. The office staff was also great!

Dr. Sales needs to go back to school and be retrained because he is totally clueless when it comes to substance abuse, bi-polar, Greif and loss and so much more. I believe they are running a scam on Medicaid. I was asked to leave for no reason in less than six months because I had to many issues and was the most messed up client he had ever had. This is what he told me at the end of our last short visit. I cant believe I gave any money. I wanted to kill myself after leaving his practice and he took me off all my meds to help tje situation go smooth. Dr Sales is a pleasant man to talk to. He gives sound advice and listens to you. I suggest him to anyone who needs someone to talk to.

I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Sales. I really don't understand the negative reviews. Yes, I've had a couple crabby office staff members on the phone I've dealt with, but all in all I've had very positive visits at this office. I would recommend Dr. Sales 100%.

I have been going to him for 5 years for ADHD. He has been very helpful in listening to my experience and finding the right balance of medication. I have not experienced what some reviewers have complained about. I have only experienced a thoughtful and educated doctor. Perhaps there is an expectation that every doctor is a specialist in every area of their field. I do not have that expectation but rather that the doctor help me find the best solution (even if it's a referral to another physician) for my needs. Thanks for all you do, Dr. Sales! He's all about making you feel like there's something wrong with you. His thick accent makes it difficult to understand what he says. He will quickly prescribe costly drugs. He doesn't listen or give a rats ads about what the patient says. My friend had to see him. James Sales is an evil monster. Don't trust him.

The staff is EXTREMELY rude. I take my 8 year old son, and his prescription have to be filled by mail (?!?!), and when we request a refill it takes 3 days before they even PROCESS the request. My son has gone, twice, without his medication because they said they had sent it out, but they hadn't. Phone calls are not returned w/i 24, and more often than not, never returned. We are looking for a new doctor. I don't trust the care we have been receiving, and I feel like the answer to everything has been meds. My 8 year old is on 3 different types of meds. Dr spends to much time asking questions that don't relate to symptoms such as what is your religious beliefs, also seems not to trust any other Dr's evaluation. He doesn't appear to be very attentive during our short visit. This all looks very unprofessional and untrustworthy.

The lady at the front desk is very rude. I missed 2 appointments because I was out of town and they told me to find someone else. How are you supposed to help someone when you turn them away.

I cannot wait till we switch to another psychiatrist. He's an absolute ass! He got crappy with me and yelled at me in front of my 6 year old son just because I was asking him about a drug as a suggestion for my son since others weren't working. Holy crap. Avoid this place like the plague! He basically told his staff when I called about my son's behavior the past few days at school that I was a liar and he needed proof from his teacher to be faxed before he puts him on any meds. I'm sorry but this guy is a complete nut case. It's super sad he's even a psychiatrist. I really think this guy needs to either retire or something. Yes, he totally leaves a lot of crap up to his staff.....a TON of stuff up to his staff to do for him. I would NOT be surprised if this guy gets sued eventually. The worst! I've already gotten paperwork liked up with another psychiatrist and I cannot wait for my last appointment for my son with Dr. Sales. The new psychiatrists office said to honor the last appointment and see if Dr. Sales will put him on a med for ad/hd...the other med ISN'T WORKING and hasn't for near 2 weeks now! I've called and all I get is b.s. I have never been anything but pleased with the care I've received from Dr. Sales in the 3+ years I've been seeing him. His office staff does seem to change a lot, but that's true with a lot of doctors.

Staff is not my favorite but Dr. Sales is hands down the best Psychstrist I have seen in the Quad Cities.

Does not make eye contact, asks inappropriate/irrelevant questions regarding religion and ethnic background, does not spend any time asking about actual symptoms or behavior. Talks very quickly, does not trust the patient, nor does he encourage the patient to trust themselves. Would not recommend to anyone, this man should not be prescribing anyone serious medications. Staff aren't pleasant, but do the bare minimum. He rushes the entire meeting, does not take any time to know patients

Extremely unprofessional and spends more time asking unrelated and borderline inappropriate questions than he does on treating patients. His staff is incredibly rude and phone calls are rarely returned within 24 hours, if at all. Not to mention, his actual office where he meets with patients is cluttered and cramped.

My ex wife went through multiple doctors who wouldn't my kids on ADHD pills because they didn't qualify, unit "Dr." Salis. He put both my kids on drugs that they didn't even need!

I agree. His staff is very rude!!! I am not going to continue taking my daughter there to be treated the way we have been treated. I have had to have other family members take my daughter for me and they have been treated the same way. They were also very upset. I even went out of my way to drive to his office. His staff are the most rude people I have ever met. I have been going there for at least a year now and every time I go he has a new medical assistant. I think he is an okay doctor is you can get past his staff. Not even close to state-of-the-art. They have paper charts and hand write prescriptions. I will be looking into a different doctor. Rude...I won't go back. I went there for PTSD treatment and the second I walked in the door I got an uneasy feeling and that feeling was confirmed not 5 minutes later. I walked out before the appointment even began.
