Dr. McAtee has been my Dr for a number of years. He listens patiently, allows enough time to hear and understand my concerns and for me to understand my medical situation and treatment options. He has effectively treated my back, hip and shoulder. I feel confident in his knowledge, skills, and care, and soon will be having him do my shoulder replacement.

Dr. McAtee always has my best interests in mind. Even when I don’t always say out loud how I feel he can read me. Highly recommend him for joint replacements.

I had a scope surgery done and feels waird I don't feel the loose cartilage in my knee anymore but knee still hurts ????I need a refill on pain meds it works better with Aleve and Tylenol

Had to have a carpal tunnel surgery on my wrist, even immediately after the surgery my wrist felt better the tingling was gone. Thank you.

I have seen Dr. McAtee several times for surgery and followup appointments. He has always answered questions to my satisfaction. Surgeries have always gone well. Office staff have always been friendly. I recommend Dr. McAtee for ortho problems. I have had a fractured wrist with pinning and a shoulder replacement 4 yrs ago. I recently dislocated my replaced shoulder due to a fall and added a rotator cuff tear to the list. No complaints.

At my first appointment with Dr. McAtee he was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable talking about the procedure that I needed. Answering all my questions and very reassuring in my decision . Dr. McAtee did my right hip replacement in December and did an awesome job. I feel great and so glad I had it done. Dr. McAtee & all the staff were great at the Manhattan Surgical Center. The professionalism of the staff was an amazing experience waking up not knowing where I was at feeling that I was captured like I was back in the military in the navy they ran and hurried and got me my phone so I could call my fiancé so she could calm me down and keep me aware that I just got out of surgery GREAT EXPERIENCE

I Had A Great Experience at This Orthopedics office. Dr. McAtee and his nurses and staff were excellent. They treated me very nice!! and made me feel like I was important.. Dr. James McAtee and all the staff at Manhattan Surgical Center provided me with excellent medical service. After a year of pain and attempts at non-surgical intervention, I gave in to relief by surgery. Dr McAtee explained in detail what the procedure would be , along with aftercare. His nurse, Stephanie educated me further on do's & do not's. Arrival at Surgical Center was met with COVID-19 questions and the young lady was kind and friendly. The intake coordinator was cheerful and welcoming. I was taken back to the bay by Nurse Leslie, she understood the challenges I faced in the past with getting an IV needle in my vein the first attempt. Leslie's skills were impressive and for the first time ever, she stuck me with minimal pain and effort! That was when my blood pressure finally returned to normal! Joshua was my anesthesiologist, he explained the details of my cocktail mix and was confident in how smooth my Surgery would go with Dr. McAtee. Shortly after McAtee came in to reassure me and answer any questions I had. The surgical nurse came & got me, she kept our conversation light and casual. This kept my mind from racing & being high jacked with fear. Josh's delivered the cocktails & I was out before McAtee entered the surgical room. After I came to, I was taken to a chair bay & the release process was initiated, two more nurses assisted in getting me dressed and into a wheelchair! My husband picked me up & the ride home was pain free. The best part was I slept all night! I didn't have any pain & I took my meds as recommended. I would highly recommend OSMC, Dr McAtee and MHK Surgical Center. The entire process was efficient and smooth. I anticipate a full recovery! Thank you Dr. McAtee!!! Have had 3 surgical procedures total from him starting at age 17 to 30. Two knee surgeries and hand. Found him pleasant and wonderful. His traveling nurse not so much. Rude and refused to allow me to ask him questions and said I needed to schedule another appointment after I was already there and he walked out the door so I could be charged again for another visit. Dr. McAtee was very thorough in describing my issue and treatment options. He took plenty of time to answer any questions that I had. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. They were also on schedule so wait time was minimal. I recommend OSMC!

Excellent! Dr. McAtee and his staff were very welcoming and everything from start to finish was very smooth. He answered all of my questions and addressed all of the concerns I had. Would definitely recommend for fracture care!

I had fallen and injured both feet. I called for an appointment with Dr. McAtee and he was able to see me the same day. X-rays were taken and he made a quick diagnosis. I have always been happy with Dr. McAfee and the OSMC staff.

Dr. McAtee quickly diagnosed my issue with my left shoulder and put in action a plan for a shoulder replacement due the deteriorating joint condition. Surgery went well and resulted in less shoulder pain immediately following surgery. One week after surgery the only pain medication is extra strength Tylenol every 8-12 hours. Performing Physical Therapy exercises 4 times per day with no issues. I feel certain as the exercises progress there will be some moments of pain but nothing i can't handle knowing normal functionality will return with time and exercises. I really enjoy Dr. McAtee's professionalism and expert knowledge of joint replacement. He didn't seem to mind my probing into the technical details and I appreciated his knowledgeable detailed responses. I would highly recommend Dr. McAtee as the Orthopaedic Surgeon for anyones joint replacement surgeon. Dr McAtee did an amazing job. He was quick to diagnosis the problem and what needed to be done. Both he and his staff were very thorough with both pre-op and post-op care to make surgery as smooth as possible. It wasn’t a good visit.. I was asked questions & before I could get 3 or 4 words out I was cut off by the person that 1st talked to me in the room.. so I don’t feel I was able to share much of anything.. even when Dr McAtee was in with me it felt more like a rush.. pretty much told X-rays look ok & nothings wrong.. to have nothing wrong it took almost 2-2 1/2 weeks before I could put most of my weight back on my right leg.. I just felt rushed & unimportant from start to finish.. won’t go back & won’t ever recommend ???? It wasn’t a good visit.. I have received medical services from Dr Mcatee and his staff since 2009 when I had a broken femur from a sledding accident. Dr Mcatee performed the necessary surgery installing a rod and several screws. He did an excellent job. I participated in physical therapy for one full year. My healing was very slow. I had several follow up surgeries, all performed by Dr Mcatee. 12 years later from the original injury many procedures have been done. Just last week I reinjured the same area and went to see Dr Mcatee. In his same deliberate examination and review of the X-rays he diagnosed my leg/knee situation. Always concise, professional, and inclusive of the patient’s best interest. He is a doctor you can trust and his staff is equally professional and caring. I will always schedule an appointment with him as it relates to my original injury. Dr McAtee and staff plus Chad and staff were extremely helpful through Ethan's ACL and meniscus tear. It was welcoming knowing he was in great hands throughout the whole experience. I would definitely recommended them.

Dr. McAtee is an amazing surgeon. He agreed to do a revision on my botched knee replacement after I had seen 7 surgeons over 6 years who would not even discuss it with me. I have been free of pain in that knee since and I bless the day I became his patient. He has since done a TKR on my right knee and a reverse shoulder replacement on my right shoulder. Dr. McAtee is very knowledgeable and provides patient with clear and direct information about treatment options. He also gives the best steroid shots ever! They are painless when he does them, and I hate needles. Willing to explain any questions you may have. Highly recommend.

2 surgeries - many office visits -> I'll never go back. He's very arrogant. At age 67 I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus. After surgery it was worse so he said I'd need a knee replacement. So I did. That was 20 months ago and it's still very swollen and painful. He actually told me he'd work on it a 3rd time but after that I needed to just stop complaining and live with it. His staff is used to working with 20 year old K-State basketball athletes. An office visit seldom results in seeing Dr McAtee. He's not "in town" very often, travels with the K-State team a lot. He doesn't listen to what you have to say. He doesn't care. He's just interested in doing surgery and making some money when he's in town to support the small army of support personnel in his office. When they ask you what pain level you are experiencing (1-10) it doesn't matter what you say, they will ignore you. You couldn't pay me go back! Now I need to find a surgeon to try and fix my knee.

Dr McAtee & his associates I would give negative stars if possible. The negligence, arrogance & ignorance of him & his associates, who showed no remorse for their poor choices leading to her almost losing a leg & maybe her life. Repeatedly warned by another Dr, her general practitioner, several times over almost 6 weeks since her initial surgery, Dr McAtee did not take his contemporary seriously, & took almost 6 weeks to admit there was a serious potentially life threatening staph infection raging in her body. Even after drawing fluid & though telling me there was 'not even enough to grow a culture' yet he had her back on the operation table less than 24 hours after his false claim & had to cut out dead and infected tissue. Had she not been on antibiotics from her Dr I might not have her around today. He then went on a holiday and his colleague insisted she leave less than 12 hours after 3rd operation even though she was scheduled to stay 3 says longer. Be warned insensitive team!

Dr. McAtee has replaced both my knees and given me back a life without pain after all these years. The care and attention given to the surgery and recovery was beyond excellent. I would highly recommend this doctor and the group over all to everyone..
