It will be a year in 9/22 since my rotor cuff surgery. I feel fantastic, relieved from every day pain. Thank you Dr. Mathis and to Dawn and every staff member all the way to the Surgical Center that assisted me. Thank you for all your help going through this procedure. Scares? What scares. He did a great job it's not a fun surgery and painful as hell but I don't think anyone could have done better! Thank you for my life back !

Met with Dr. MATHIS, TODAY GREAT EXPERIENCE HE TOOK TIME WITH ME AND MY DAUGHTER HE EXPLAINED THE PENDING KNEE REPLACEMENT TO US. HIS STAFF WAS ALSO SUPER MY EXPERIENCE WITH MY DR.V DR. WAS FANTASTIC.

Dr Mathis is the best orthopedic Dr he has done 3 surgeries on me and will do hip soon .I recovered so we'll my total knees are great. I have no pain in knees at all. I have spoken to others that went to different Drs and they are still in pain. I was able to walk right after surgery and started therapy the next day in hospital. The staff are great they call back the same day.He is the best knee and hip Dr . I made the mistake of letting Dr. Mathis perform a shoulder replacement back in October of 2018. In follow up visits, I let him know there was a significant amount of pain in the front and rear of my shoulder. He seemed not to care. Additionally I let him know of numbness in my upper forearm and again he seemed not to care. It's now been a little over 2 years now since the surgery and I've seen another orthopedic surgeon about the ongoing pain. The diagnosis was simple, Dr. Mathis botched the entire procedure by not not using the correct technique by not doing a total replacement and unnecessarily damaging nerves. There is bare bone to implant metal contact. To correct this, I will have to have another surgery to undo what Dr. Mathis messed up this time with a total replacement using the correct procedure. I can only hope the nerve damage will eventually heal. DO NOT use this doctor for any issues you may have with your shoulder as he is totally incompetent in that area.

Do not go to this doctor if you want post op care.

Very disappointed with my first and only visit to Dr Mathis’ office. I had a 3:30pm appointment. At 4:15pm no one had said anything to me - I finally asked why the delay? I was ushered back for a quick x-ray and then to a waiting room where I was told it would be just a few minutes. 30 minutes later I gave up and left. Very disrespectful of my time - at a minimum I would have appreciated a quick phone call letting me know the office was running behind. Dr. Mathis did my full knee replacement back in 2005. He is meticulous in his work & care. Quick to listen & answer questions. Great bedside manners & handled my pain post surgery as gently as possible at follow-up. Don't get me wrong, knee surgery is painful. After three different surgeries with three different doctors, Dr. Mathis & his associates are the first to try to treat me without causing too much pain. All the doctors at TOSM are great. At one of my follow-up appts, Dr. M could not be there so Dr. Bahrani attended me. He was up to date with my file & he knew about my hospital stay; I didn't have to retell my story to him. I wish I could use no stars. Please do not use this doctor for any type of major surgery. He has ruined my life. I had hip replacement that went very wrong. He didn’t if bother to check up on me.

I received no post op care or pt from Dr. Mathis or his assistant, Dawn, who writes reviews for him. He has left me in pain and unable to walk. He got angry when I asked for cane and,handicapped sticker. I am 79 years old.

Dr. Mathis did my knee replacement. I received very little post op care and am left with a very painful knee. When I tried to talk to him, he was very rude and loud. His assistant, who is writing reviews for him, hollered at me on phone. I am left worse off than when I first saw him and was treated very disrespectful in his office.

Came for an elbow fracture as second opinion. Did not even check it. Did not look at the x-rays provided from the first physician. Did absolutely nothing. Dr. Mathis is an amazing doctor has a wonderful staff!!

Superb surgeon. Highly recommended. Wouldn’t have anyone else do my surgery. Had two knees replaced. Feel like my own. Staff and PT are also top notch!

Came to see him for a forearm fracture. The dope did not even exam the x-rays or check the arm. When I was leaving I told him I have a fracture. He was surprised and said OH you have a fracture. I said yes I was here for your second opinion. Nothing happened and he definitely does not care. I would be concerned that he is a sports team physicians for my dogs. Absolutely completely indifferent and disinterested. It is frightening to be treated by Texas MDs!

Very kind, caring, and professional. Recent total hip replacement went well. Healing great with minimal pain. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mathis to others seeking joint replacement. His surgical assistant and surgical coordinator are awesome, too.

I had a very successful total knee replacement. Surgery was scheduled very efficiently at Memorial Hermann, who were also wonderful. Dr Mathis is caring and committed to doing the best for his patients. I also have to give praise to Dr Mathis's fabulous assistant, Dawn. A really good overall experience.

Excellent doctor. He is so kind and compassionate and really took the time to listen to me. I was never made to feel rushed or like I was just one of many he had to see. It has been a long time since I found a doctor whith modern education but good old fashioned respect for patients.

Excellent Doctor. Excellent bedside manner, which I greatly appreciate but an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I had a knew arthroscopy to repair a torn meniscus ( minor surgery) & results were fabulous!! I would recommend him & have to any of my friends with knee issues.

Awesome orthopedic surgeon in that he has an excellent bedside manner as well as a great surgeon. I just had a minor knee arthroscopy due to a tear in my meniscus & have hardly had any pain & was walking minus crutches 3rd day with practically no limping. I would recommend him & have to my friends with any knees issues. Thanks!
