Dr. James Lemon

My consult visit was somewhat rushed, but I understand Dr. Lemon is very busy - perhaps a little personal conversation would be nice especially on surgery day. The doctor did an excellent job removing all of my top teeth for dentures and he even called personally that evening to check on me; that was very much appreciated!

Was referred here after root canal was not an option. My wife has anxiety when it comes to dental procedures. Dr lemon does not have alot of bedside manner . During the procedure of tooth extraction my wife was given novacane and nitrous this is a rough procedure and she was uncomfortable rather than make her comfortable he yells at her to stop being uncomfortable because there are children in the office she is scaring. The procedure is done. However it all seems very rushed and unfriendly this place is busy seems more concerned with get in get out . Terrible experience at Newberry Office.

I am just beginning my procedures with Dr. Lemon after choosing him on the recommendations of family, friends and a dentist aquaintance. I've had one too many agonies resulting in severe pain and fear of restorative work: from impacted abscess wisdom teeth, to dentist root canal of wrong tooth, to a broken piece of equipment lodged in a crowned tooth that they knew about, but did not tell me. Many dentists around Columbia only care about hard-selling cosmetic services you do not need- and paying staff bonuses to persuade patients to have them. This journey is about saving the 3 teeth acting up or possibly replacing them with implants. It may be an investment, yes. But I am certain Dr. Lemon will not try to upsell services and procedures I do not need. Many thanks to his staff for their compassion. Make sure you verify they are "In Network" with your insurance provider if that is important to you. They were not for mine (a BCBS plan). The woman I dealt with was underhanded with that fact, which cost me an extra $1500.

Excellent care! Dr. Lemon removed my son's wisdom teeth. We were very pleased. He even called personally to check on him after. The NE office was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, too.

Dr. Lemon was very kind and confident from my wisdom tooth extraction consultation to the day of surgery. I knew I was in good hands and it helped me to relax. As soon as he walked in the room his reassuring smile put me at ease. He expertly removed all four teeth after another surgeon said it was too risky. Would go to him again without hesitation.

Horrible customer service when inquiring about services on 2 different occasions with 2 different representatives. They do not accept adult medicaid, which I assumed because usually no one does lol! However, I wanted to pay for services out of pocket due to an ongoing issue I've had with my wisdom teeth. I've searched everywhere and i am still looking. When i told them i would pay out of pocket they still refused me as a patient because I told them i had medicaid. I never heard of this before and to refuse a paying patient because they have insurance with the state is absurd. The young lady Angela assured me that they have the right to refuse patients. I completely respect this, just thought I should let the world know before they waste there time as well! Dr.Lemon was awesome and very thorough even called after personally to make sure everything was ok

This was not my first visit with Dr. Lemon; many years ago he had to cut out 3 of my wisdom teeth. Even back then I found him to be very knowledgeable and professional. He explains everything that he is doing as he performs so that you are aware of your situation. He and his staff try to make you as comfortable as possible, and they take very good care of each patient.

I have seen Dr. Lemon for at least 15 years, and every visit, every procedure has gone perfectly. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I stopped the pain meds too soon, he met me on his lunch hour, determined dry sockets, and told me to restart pain meds, which I did, and I recovered just fine after that. The experience was the same as another reviewer (who gave Dr. Lemon and undeserved 1 star review, because her dental assistant relative incorrectly advised her). Take the pain meds for at least 3-4 days to avoid this pain, and even if you get it, your mouth may still be recovering fine. In any case, Dr. Lemon will take GOOD care of you, even if you call with after surgical pain. He is awesome, his staff is awesome, and he is THE BEST oral surgeon (I've seen 4, as I have had some rather serious issues ongoing with my teeth and guns). You can trust Dr. Lemon. Great surgeon who has mastered the art of pulling teeth

Went and got a tooth pulled and he wasn't very nice kinda rude then when I was going to leave the nurse lady didn't give me any information about how to take care of my mouth after getting the tooth pulled so I went back two days later because my mouth was very sore and the medicine wasn't working for the pain so I thought maybe it got infected well he looks at it and says I have a dry socket and just tells me to keep taking the pain medicine well my cousin is a dentist assistant at an office in Florence and I called and asked her if that was right about what he said and she said no that he is suppose to treat the dry socket so I will not be going back to this doctor ever again!!!! Worse experience ever!!!!! I prefer dr. Parker he's so much better and very nice to his patients!! Awesome experience. Great staff and excellent bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone. Overall excellent experience.

I will never deal with this office or the st Julian office again the women are very short with you and rude, I had an impacted extraction and the woman at the desk refused to give me a prescription for MOTRIN!, Everytime I call it's the same rude nasty attitudes. I had to come back in because fragments of my tooth begin coming through the incision area, after I already complained about pain and was turned away 6 weeks earlier. They have no empathy, customer service or concern for some patients. Never will I return again! ! I'm beyond disappointed with my experience. He was GREAT!!! Had very good bed side manners, and he explained everything to me in detail. I did not have any pain, he put me completely out. Of course some afterwards, but not nearly how I would have thought. Love him he was a BLESSING for me!!!!!

Dr. Lemon and staff were extremely accommodating and competent during my visit. They truly went out of their way to help me with scheduling and to help me feel comfortable with my procedure. I was treated with the utmost respect and even received a call after I returned home to ensure I was doing ok. I will certainly choose this doctor again if I ever need any oral surgery in the future.
