Staff and Dr. James Lee are extremely professional. Dr. Lee was very thorough during the examination.

Scheduled appointment was on time, no waiting. Gave a good explanation of my situation & preventive measures. Very good experience. Wish all doctors were this prompt straightforward.

I chose this doctor because he is in close proximity of my home in Ashburn, VA. He was a perfect example of not very professional doctor. He sounded like I was making up my symptoms. He was not even interested in understanding the problem. I was disappointed when consultation was over. It was just a waste of my time and copay. My consultation was this morning, and I am already in search of another ENT doctor.

For my cervical fusion yesterday, 1/18, Doc Lee was gracious enough to partner with my spine surgeon in performing a c3/4 anterior fusion (for brevity). The Doc was the Opener and apparently he was perfect because I’m still alive to write this. ?? Actually, he was perfect, and his co-surgeon said there’s no better Opener in the game. Due to the complexities with having scar tissue and with respect to location of throat to neck, my Spinal surgeon wanted the best to open and navigate, due to his expertise. This is one very happy patient of Dr Lee’s! Thank you, thank you!

Dr. Lee was very thoughtful and compassionate when telling me about needed surgery. His recommendation was selfless and very much appreciated.

Dr. Lee wasn't very friendly and seemed uninterested in my concerns. He seemed rushed despite there was no one else in the waiting room while I was there. He ordered a scan for me and I received the results through MyChart but never even got a call to go over and explain. I'm sure he's a good doctor but not a great experience.

I was experiencing some pressure related issues with my left ear. And began freaking out since my ear started to close up to the point I couldn't even here through my left ear. Okay. Procedure was much quicker and painless than anticipated.

It was great. He was very professional and was great with my autistic son. He had his nose cauterized and was great at explaining step by step so my son knew what was next. It was fast and pain free experience for my son. I came here after having a horrible experience at another ENT drs office. I was glad I found Dr. Lee.

We came in as an emergency with an earring back stuck in my daughters ear canal. Dr. Lee was amazing and got it out on the first try with no issue.

Dr. Lee is condescending and frankly rude. I have called the office back twice with further questions and no one has returned my call.

After seeing 2 other ENT , Dr Lee took his time to assess my concerns and provided me with the needed referrals and tests to further investigate my issues. He is professional and took time to explain everything

Went in taken care of with good service by front desk Got to doctor quickly was very good

Wax accumulates behind my in-the-canal hearing aid, as in the canal the aid confines the wax to the canal. Accumulated wax interferes with hearing well. Removing wax from my ear, that is very sensitive at the bottom, Dr. Lee was gentle and caused no pain.

Dr. Lee diagnosed the problem immediately. It was diagnosed incorrectly by a different doctor and he ordered the MRI to prove what was wrong. I don't need a comedian, a chatty doctor as long as a doctor does what's right and diagnoses correctly and that's what you get with Dr. Lee. I went to Dr. Lee for a sore throat. I also received allergy testing. He has been professional and I am happy with his service. I would recommend him and his office to anyone in the Northern Virginia region.

I brought my son to see Dr. Lee about a deviated septum. I love him. He took time to explain the physiology of the septum and the turbinates in the nose, and his explanation of the surgical process was very straightforward and easy for a layman to understand.

I came to Dr. Lee after having been under the care of another ENT for two months. Dr. Lee hypothesized, correctly as time revealed, that what the other Dr. was doing was ineffective because that doctor misdiagnosed my problem(s). Yes, Dr. Lee can get to a point much faster than other doctors and perhaps not satisfy everyone's "bedside manner" requirement. However, if you look past this, he is sound medically, very quickly puts things together "accurately", and is a doctor of action. As an engineer with three degrees, one in the life sciences area, I look at every doctor very critically: does their diagnosis and strategy make sense? do they have credible answers to straightforward questions? can they explain why their course of action is required? Dr. Lee gets 5 stars in my book in all these areas. If you need surgery as I did, I ask you, "Do you want a surgeon with good bedside manner while you are anesthetized, or do you want a doctor that you have complete faith in, substantiated by the objective assessments of their competency as mentioned above, while you are knocked out?" I will take the sharp, no-nonsense, quick answers to every one of my questions, doctor every time. Additionally, there was a mistake in billing that occurred with my insurance (no mistake on the part of Dr. Lee's office); we're talking over $1,000. Once identified, Dr. Lee's office cut me a check for the amount in what I will call record time. So, I not only have faith in this doctor, I know his ethics and manner of doing business resonate with how I believe things should be done. had referral order from family doctor; the office just refused my insurance saying they just don't take my insurance & hung up. Waste of time & energy

Dr. James is not that great. He was in a hurry, showed no interest or concern of the issues I had. In the end, asked me to see his wife, which I intended to see her the first time but the staff told me to see Dr. James first.

He’s really good at what he does. That’s what you need to know. Lots of comments about bedside manner, etc. You’ve got two choices: a Dcotor that knows his stuff, takes copious notes and knows what to do. Or, someone that talks nice nice to you and makes you feel good. If you need a ENT you need to know straight and to the point what’s happening and how to fix it. I needed an ENT (and will likely continue to need one) and Dr. Lee gets in there and tells me what’s up. No BS. If you need a ENT, you need someone smart. I had no choice bc other Drs in the area did not have any time slots within the next 2 months( i dont understand this) so I went back and Dr Lees attitude had changed I even came in for a 3rd visit and he was nice. I saw Dr. James Lee about 2.5 years ago for audiology and he was very thorough and nothing like the negative reviews on this site. I had been hesitant because of the reviews but did not find a similar experience. Our family has seen his wife, Dr. Vickie Lee for 5 years. She has been amazing and I consider her an extension of our family when it comes to our child's life threatening food allergies. She is part of our Team and someone who has called me multiple times late into the night to make sure our son is doing okay after very bad allergic reactions. I had a second experience with Dr. James Lee after an experience in the ER where he helped remotely and I was referred to see him for a follow-up. I was concerned about the antibiotic prescribed to me because I have multiple antibiotic allergies and decided to reach out and call his answering service on a Sunday for guidance. It was one of the fastest call backs I have ever had. He was kind, listened, provided reassuring advice and was as thorough as one can be in a weekend call after hours. I'll never go back for follow-up. The only reason I made an appointment was I need to see an ENT asap after my ER visit. He was the only one available to see me right away. I realize why it was easy to make an appointment to see him. He was rude, condescending and arrogant. Worse his attire (white coat) was dirty and wrinkled unfit for a doctor's appearance. The only plus side was a neck brace he gave.

STAY AWAY!!!!! Went in to see Dr. Lee as my general medicine doctor referred me to him. I have been having serious issues with my tonsils and was really looking forward to this visit. I was incredibly disappointed and disturbed after my visit with him. He was so rude and disrespectful to me and made me feel very uncomfortable during my visit with him. At one point he looked me in my eyes and said he was not asking me he was telling me after I had casually agreed and said yeah they aren't as swollen anymore (in reference to my tonsils). At that point I looked for the exit because all I wanted to do was run out of that room. When he examined my ears nose and throat he was very aggressive and did not give me any guidance with regards to what he was doing. Dr. Lee and staff is great. I just finished up with my nose surgery and after the packing came put today, I already can breath better than I have my whole life. I wish I would have done it sooner.

From 1983 until last year (2017), I suffered from violent migraine headaches after an injury to my face. Every 4 or 5 years I would seek out an ENT doctor, to see if there was a new medical miracle or something someone could do. Dr. Lee was the first one who said "Yes". While I was in the room, he listened to me with total focus. After I finished answering his questions and he was done examining me, I sat quietly while he thought and typed his notes. I could almost see the wheels turning as he thought. Then, he told me about my problem and said, 'I know what to do about this." I replied, 'Good! let's do it!" And, from the moment I awoke from the surgery he performed, I have been migraine-free. Dr Lee is a thoughtful, smart, serious Physician. I am so glad I went to Dr. Lee. I had been having headaches and earaches so I chose Dr. Lee as my ENT to consult. He diagnosed my problem quickly and accurately. He said my aches were not from what I thought but that I needed to see a spine specialist because my medical issues were from my neck. I did as he suggested and he was absolutely correct! The spine specialist found neck issues which were causing my pain. I am so grateful to Dr. Lee for his accurate diagnosis!

I wish I can give him zero star, I went there for my son’s ear pain, when my wife asked him some questions, he even told her to zip her mouth and stop talking. Dr. Lee is very rude and unprofessional. I will not go back there again.

Dr. Lee, his office manager Jo, and his staff gave my mother her “last wish”. A week before passing from cancer, Dr. Lee gave her her hearing back! She had accumulated a lot of fluid in her right ear. She couldn’t hear at all and was in a lot of pain (on top of her cancer). The office responded quickly, worked us into their schedule, and was able to make room so that all the appropriate tests could be completed and the procedure done on the same day all during one appointment because my mom had such difficulty leaving the house. They even offered hearing aids! When the fluid was released from her right ear, my mother cried with joy! Sadly, She passed exactly one week later. But she could hear! And if it were not for Dr Lee, Jo, and his staff, she would not have gotten her last wish! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!! Dr. Lee, his office manager Jo, and his staff gave my mother her “last wish”. I was highly impressed with Dr. Lee and his staff. My son had to be scheduled for surgery. He explained everything in detail. He answered all questions and put my mind at ease. His assistant and surgical scheduler was on top of her game. She answered all my questions and was so helpful. She was so wonderful with my son.

I visited Dr James Lee today and was impressed with his knowledge after meeting with several doctors. I have a lump on my right cheek for the last five years, It is not cancer but very close to the nerve. Other doctor wanted to do a scar from the outside. Dr. James explained in details why I should not do it from the outside and it will be closer to the nerve. I trusted him very much taking the time explaining to me the whole procedure in details. I wanted to move forward and have the surgery .

I would highly entrust Dr. James Lee with the care of my entire family, especially my children. He gathers all information and looks at the entire picture before giving options and his expertise in his field. He is a top notch doctor and very well educated and takes the time to listen and explains everything. Very pleased with his care and plan to be a patient for as long as needed.

No bedside manner. No personality. Very cold attitude even with a child. Offered no explanation what's he about to do. Completely traumatized my 3 year old! On top of traumatizing my poor son, he did a lousy job cauterizing his nostril. Nosebleeds immediately that night and afterwards. Probably popped more vessels instead of cauterized them! Only positive was the staff at office was nice and nurse was very sweet. Otherwise, the doctor was just downright horrible!

Useless. I came in because I was worried about pain in my throat. I'm only 20 years old so pain is very unexpected. He spent all but 5 minutes, pulled on my tongue, and looked down my throat with a mirror. It was extremely uncomfortable but he assured me it was better than having a scope shoved down it. He then said the problem was acid reflux. He was no help as to the cause of the reflux, and offered no way to prevent it. Instead, he proceeded to prescribe me his pharmaceutical partners prescription medication. I understand he makes a profit-share from each prescription of the stuff he writes, but the cost of it was 10x more than over-the-counter stuff that does the exact same thing. 2 Months later I received a bill for $300 and I still suffered from "acid reflux." I won't be seeing this hack ever again. If I can, I'll be contesting payment as well.
