Dr. James Alan Hoffman

I have been left with enormous scars where my incisions separated. The receptionist told me the quarter sized opening was normal. I ended up in the hospital to have emergency surgery from internal bleeding. I do not recommend.

Would give zero stars if possible. This clinic is predatory and unethical. They only care about persuading you to get your money, even if you medically are not a surgical client and expect terrible results they will still take your money and put you through a horrid experience. This clinic is a perfect example of why plastic surgery has such a shady reputation. Do not visit this clinical.

Dr. Hoffman did a great job with my blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty. He really listened and made changes based on what I said and showed him. Bring up to 6 photos of features you like to your consultation! I didn’t bring any images to the first visit because I was afraid of looking silly, but he wanted to see and hear about what I was looking for, so he could be sure I got what I wanted. No fancy computer generated morphs in Dr. Hoffman’s office, but I didn’t feel that was a negative. I got one with the doctor who did my first consultation and I didn’t feel like manipulating the screen reflected what the reality would be. Communication is more important. Also, I left meetings with Dr. Hoffman with confidence because he was complementary. The first doctor I saw thought he’d have a better chance getting my business if he made me feel ugly.

This is an amazingly talented plastic surgeon with an amazing staff. I have had two surgeries with this team and with both (eyelid lift and breast lift/reduction) had excellent results. I love this team of talented people. His entire team treated me as an individual and with utmost respect. The results on both surgeries with beyond expectations. I have also had several friends who have treated with Dr. Hoffman all with great results.

WOW, is all I can say. What a great team led by a wonderful surgeon. This was my second surgery with this talented doctor. I had a eye lift several years ago with fantastic results and recently a breast lift and reduction and I could not be happier. The team is small but mighty and it is so refreshing to work with a group of people who all know you and treat you with respect and kindness.

Dr. Hoffman is INCREDIBLE! He listens to what you are looking for and delivers! I had breast augmentation surgery in April and while visiting friends in Tennessee we discussed my procedure. My friend had her surgery 15 years ago by a surgeon in TN. She said she was so unhappy with the size that she had a reduction 5 years later. She said had her doctor taken the time to listen and ask for pictures like Dr. Hoffman does she would have been so much happier and wouldn’t have had to have a reduction to get to the size she originally wanted. Thank you Dr. Hoffman for listening to what I wanted and asking for pictures of what I wanted to look like and not just making the decision for me! I couldn’t be happier!

CARELESS OR INCOMPETENT Dr Hoffman did a terrible job on my primary rhinoplasty. He left me struggling to breath through my nose with a number of visible and functional deformities. Including an inverted v deformity, bilateral nasal valve collapse, an over resected dorsal hump, a pinched sharp tip, an uncorrected deviated septum, uncorrected concha bullosa, and an alarplasty that left large visible scarring right down the side of my nostril. He told me in my last consultation that he "might not have been the best practitioner of medicine during this time because he's more stressed than he's ever been". That he didn't know how to fix the problems he caused, that he was an ENT too long ago and he doesn't know the needed techniques. I went to another surgeon who told me he did a bad job, especially considering he used to be an ENT, and that he had just had a consult with another unhappy patient of Dr Hoffmans. I have lost count of the times his office manager and wife Nica, has lied to me about getting back to me with information or responding to questions and never doing so. The moment my complications became apparent they became dismissive, unresponsive and rude. They said they would offer a refund and have since lied to and stonewalled me for months with no refund in sight. Save yourself the pain and money and find a different surgeon. Horrible response times, unprofessional pushy staff, don’t understand their own programs and offers. Disrespectful to my wife and her issues. Doctor seemed friendly and knowledgeable but this must be a mirage because the people he surrounds himself with are not quality staff and not good at customer service. For this kind of money I would expect better service than the McDonald’s drive thru but unfortunately McDonald’s looks like rockstars compared to this place. I met with Dr. Hoffman and after our initial consultation, I wanted him to complete my gynecomastia surgery. Now that the surgery is done, I could not be happier. He is personable and a fantastic surgeon. Thank you Dr. Hoffman for changing my life for the better.

Dr Hoffman and his staff are amazing people with professionally trained well about what they do. I had a great opportunity to visit his office and I have been served with manner of courtesy and respect. Dr. Hoffman and his wife Nica are amazing ! From setting up my consultation appointment to my post-op care they made sure I was well informed and happy with my results. They are both so kind and down to earth it made it so easy for me to choose them for my gynecomastia procedure. I came in once more before my surgery to get my prescriptions and finalized all of the details for my operation. The day of my surgery went smoothly and I was out of the OR in about 4.5 hours. It took me about a full week to not be swollen, and the bruises lasted for about 3 weeks (nothing makeup couldn't cover). The first week was a little challenging, but not super painful. My splint came off about a week later and my whole family (including my dentist mother) was so happy. I have nothing but great praises for Dr. Hoffman!

Dr Hoffman is simply amazing! He makes you feel good on the inside and of course the outside. His staff are very personable and will answer any and all of your questions. The procedures I had completed turned out better than I ever could have thought. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Hoffman!

I had bilateral breast augmentation replacement and liposuction surgery by Dr. Hoffman. He was recommended to me by another plastic surgeon. I was influenced to choose him because he took a lot of time to listen to me and then to explain what he could realistically provide, backed with current literature references, diagrams, and his impressive portfolio of before and after pictures of previous surgeries. Furthermore, I sensed in him a genuine compassion to do his very best to give me the results I was looking for. As a health care professional myself, I felt I could trust him. My recovery was quick and easy and I am very happy with my results, having lost several clothing sizes. His office staff, Nica and Karen, are just as competent, compassionate and respectful as he is and did an excellent job of answering my questions, scheduling my appointments/surgery, and just generally helping to provide a flawless experience. It felt like coming back to family with all of my office visits.

One of my breast implants ruptured and I was fortunate to have received Dr. Hoffman’s name from another plastic surgeon. Dr. Hoffman was not my only consult but by the end of my first meeting with him, I knew that I wanted him to be my surgeon. First of all, he seemed to have all the time in the world to talk to me about what I wanted and what he could realistically provide. His soft spoken, unassuming way of explaining things, backed with current literature references, diagrams, and his many years of experience painted a descriptive picture of what he could do. As a health care professional myself, I felt that I could trust him. In the end, after I looked at his impressive portfolio of before and after pictures, I added liposuction of my front and back torso and inner thighs to my bilateral breast implant replacement. My recovery was so quick and easy that I didn’t require so much as a tylenol, let alone a narcotic, after my surgery day. Every one’s pain tolerance is different but because I know I’m not a martyr, I can only, at the very least, partially attribute this to his surgical expertise. I am very happy with my results and look better than I have in many years, having dropped several sizes. His office staff consists of Nica and Karen, both seasoned health providers with years of solid experience. They work seamlessly as a team with Dr. Hoffman. Nica, a registered nurse, is at the front desk handling everything from scheduling to finances and more. She quite easily answered several of my post op questions without involving Dr Hoffman. Karen assists in the office and at times, provides assistance to Dr. Hoffman in surgery. She was there for mine and I couldn’t have been happier to see her smiling friendly face as I went into surgery. Both of these ladies are very knowledgable and are just as professionally competent, compassionate and respectful as Dr. Hoffman. It felt like coming back to family with all of my office visits. His office waiting area is small and comfortable but I was hardly in it. My average wait to be placed in a room was two minutes and that is because Nica does such a great job of scheduling that I rarely saw any of his other patients and I know he has a busy practice. For me, a person who values privacy, this was a real asset. One other point of consideration is that he will only bring his patients to the surgical centers that he considers the safest, and his standards are high. I would highly recommend Dr. Hoffman. You might be doing yourself a disservice if you do not at least have him on your consultation list.

Dr. Hoffman and his team are absolutely amazing! I have been wanting breast augmentation since high school and finally decided to have the procedure done after having my third child. Dr. Hoffman was able to get me in quickly for my consultant and from that first meeting I knew he was the perfect doctor for me. Over the last 10 years and after trying other non-invasive procedures to get rid of belly fat (Bodylogie, Laser Lipo and purchasing my own fat cavitation machine to do it myself), I realized that if I really wanted the results I was looking for, I needed to have a tummy tuck surgery and liposuction done by a reputable plastic surgeon. Amazing experience 3 months post op from breast reduction, lift and lypo of my midsection. I can’t say enough about Dr. Hoffman, Nica and Karen. I had been considering a breast reduction for most of my life but I knew nothing about cosmetic surgery. I found Dr. Hoffman on the Real Self website and what drew me to him was all of his reviews. UNBELIEVABLE!! Absolutely impressed! I came to Dr Hoffman for a breast augmentation revision from 8 years ago. My General Practice Doctor noticed during a breast exam that my implants were going into my arm pits. She suggested I get them looked at by a plastic surgeon ASAP. I thoroughly researched plastic surgeons & their work in the MSP area for months! After meeting with Dr Hoffman, I knew he was my surgeon! He knew exactly what needed to be done, but also listened to me and my concerns on what I wanted and thought needed to be done as well! During my consult, he spent over an hour with me discussing the breast augmentation revision and what my expectations would be. Dr. Hoffman and his staff were wonderful, absolute magic!! They went above and beyond meeting my expectations and my results blew me away. They really know how make you feel very at ease and answer every question you have to make sure you get the full education and information on everything you want to get done down to a T with many before and after photos similar (or exactly) to your procedure. His staff is with you every step of the way and he spends time with you the morning of surgery which calms your nerves even more. I was a collegiate athlete and suffered a knee injury in my mid 20s. Dr.Hoffman was one of 6 surgeons I consulted with before surgery. He was the only doctor who answered all my questions and concerns with straight forward answers, no sugar coating. He and his staff truly care and hes the only doctor who includes multiple post surgery visits.

I selected Dr. Hoffman for my rhinoplasty after a significant amount of research. I found Dr. Hoffman through a referral and I now refer him to everyone I meet. He did an amazing job on my nose and I cannot thank him enough. I am so incredibly happy with my results and the time and care he put into the surgery. My experience with Dr. Hoffman and his team has been wonderful. I had a positive visit/ consultation 1 year ago. Prior to seeing Dr. Hoffman I had a couple other consultations with other surgeons for a breast augmentation. My experience with Dr. Hoffman was superior because of his knowledge, years of experience, and kindness/ empathy. His team was caring and helpful in finding the best size for my body shape. I greatly appreciate how prepared Dr. Hoffman was for my surgery. Post operatively, I knew exactly what to expect as he had explained so well. My recovery went very well and I have been happy with my result. I am 1 year post surgery. Dr. Hoffman puts time in his schedule to do follow ups regularly, I greatly respect and appreciate that he would like to manage his cases to ensure proper healing and positive results. Everyone at Dr Hoffman’s office was exceptional! From the first time I called with an immediate need to get an appointment, Nica went out of her way to get me in for a consult that week. Dr Hoffman took 2 hours to consult with me. I felt very informed, confident in Dr Hoffman and his staff. He went to great lengths to ensure I got the results I needed. I’m very happy with the results and would highly recommend Dr Hoffman and his staff!

Dr. Hoffman and his staff were amazing during my entire process. He was able to correct a past breast augmentation and addressed all of my concerns. I am so happy with the results and feel so much healthier.

Dr. Hoffman and his staff were wonderful, absolute magic!! They went above and beyond meeting my expectations and my results blew me away. They really know how make you feel very at ease and answer every question you have to make sure you get the full education and information on everything you want to get done down to a T with many before and after photos similar (or exactly) to your procedure. His staff is with you every step of the way and he spends time with you the morning of surgery which calms your nerves even more. I was a collegiate athlete and suffered a knee injury in my mid 20s. He reshaped and contoured my body back to what it was in my college hockey years but but even better, I still can’t get over how amazing I now look and feel! After having a bad experience and not getting the desired results about ten years ago, I finally decided to find another doctor that could deliver. Dr. Hoffman was by far the best choice. I really couldn't be happier with the results. The first procedure didn't do much to remove the breast tissue, even after the original surgeon went in a second time. My experience with Dr. Hoffman and his staff was great. They took all the time I needed to understand what I wanted, why I wanted it, and answer all my questions. They explained everything very clearly to me. And Dr. Hoffman was careful to understand what I wanted and made sure that I was happy with the results - even months and months later. I recommend him to others looking for a plastic surgeon for any reason. He and his staff are super professional and amazing!

I can’t thank Dr. Hoffman enough. Not only did he fix a terrible breast augmentation but he gave me my stomach back after 3 kiddos. His work is outstanding. His whole staff took great care of not just me but my whole family.

Dr. Hoffman and his staff are amazing. They all have a sincere interest in addressing any concerns you may have and make you extremely comfortable. Dr. Hoffman performed a mini tummy tuck and miniminal lipo for me. I am so happy with the results! The scar from my tummy tuck is so tiny. Dr. Hoffman did a fantastic job. His is very skillful. He also took time to check in on me and even came in on a Sunday to take a look at my incision. If you are looking for a doctor that goes above and beyond, is caring, and sets realistic expectations, then you should absolutely make an appointment with him.

As a male this was not my kind of thing. However I walk 8 miles a day and was unable to get rid of that spare tire around my waste no matter how much I tried! So I went to Dr Hoffman because he is rate top doctor and know people who have have amazing results! He explains everything!
