Dr. Gilchrist is very easy to speak with, likeable, and is clearly a knowledgeable, valuable expert in this field; of course I wish him all the best, but it will be a sad day when he retires and Dayton loses this great resource! I had a super interesting, revealing session. He clarified and made sense of the suspicions and concerns I had about the way my mind has been functioning. I'm so glad I did it.

Dr. Gilchrist is absolutely amazing. He was able to diagnose and identify my medical condition. He clearly explained the findings of my testing. He spent so much time educating me on my disability. He truly cares for his patients and doesn't finish the appointment until you feel comfortable & understand. I recommend Dr. Gilchrist because he is the best in his field.

He is very busy it took 9 months to get an appointment.

I had so many questions and was so confused about my family members condition and Dr. Gilchrist spent a lot of time helping me to understand and treat my family member with the utmost respect. I would totally recommend him to anyone needing his specialty of care.

I was treated very well. But I became very nervous and upset. I let it get to me.

I'm and had never had this kind of appointment before - so it was a little confusing - but the folks there was so very kind and helpful and explained things as much as they were aloud to and I did appreciate their honesty. To be honest I do hope I never have to have this kind of an appointment though. Hard for us "old" folks.

Not as good as Dr. Rossburg but I still like him.

As a national speaker for Healthcare including a two time paid consultant for MVH, I have met thousands of people and experience management consultant in many Hospitals, doctors, offices, etc. I am physically handicapped and called twice to make sure I would be able to sit in my walker chair, stand up once in awhile during a four hour testing. The tester was a woman who was crippled, and the most angry hostile person. She even scolded me for calling twice! She did not allow me a break, yet she took three, leaving me alone not to speak. I understand not to speak during testing, but as a new TBI with spinal damage, in retrospect, I should have commanded a break. I had a buddy system in the beginning who witnessed this horrid woman with a loud angry voice. How can any TBI patient score well when treated so poorly. Then when I met Dr. Gilcrest, just his mannerism in how he ordered me into his room to reveal my evaluation, he would not allow me to sit in my walker chair that supports my spine and he made me sit in a chair so close I could have touched it with my hand! My husband was livid. Next, Dr. Gilcrest turns his back on me and starts telling my husband about his findings not including me at all. I had to tell him "Why are you talking to him, I'm the patient. You need to turn around and talk with me and give me eye contact" Dr. Gilcrest never once asked me about my career, or what I do, just my diagnosis when I saw my last therapist years ago. I am an adult from child abuse but I am an honored Dayton Ten Top Women, I am endorsed by the late world famous Zig Ziglar (highly endorsed) I have a contract with a Hollywood movie company for a movie of my life story, I made a featured appearance in a Hollywood movie starring Robert Wagnor Faye Dunnaway and acedemy award winner Brad Doriff, I also became an artist and was commissioned 144 pieces of art for an entire new multi million dollar hospital (actually two hospitals} and I am a former coordinator and Director of an Adult Intensive Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program that I started developed at Dettmer Hospital. I could go on and on with my success stories but my point is without interviewing a client who is a fresh TBI, and also has severe learning disabilities, his findings with his angry demeanor, just are simply not true about me. I was with people the day before I had a reaction to medication, and then on the day I had the brain injury and my behavior was notably different. I will also add, that three hospitals sponsored my fee to be the consultant called to do anger./trauma work with the Oklahoma City bombing Survivors.and my book on anger was the book they requested. Why am I so defensive? Because with no interview of how I turned my life around, Dr. Gilcrest has harmed my medical care by saying in his opinion it may be psychogenic! He could not find anything so this is his diagnosis! Give me a break! I am working with an excellent MVH speech therapist who validates I am a Poster Board ro TBI and even called Dr. Gilcrest who she knows to tell him her opinon.! He now has changed my primary diagnosis from a neurologist to basically, it's pathology. I will work work to get his findings amended in my records. He also broke HIPPA!
