Dr Babington is by far the best doctor I've ever had. I will refer anyone to him. I only wish he could be my primary care all the time. He has done so much good for me in the past five years of seeing him.

Dr B is an excellent listener and treats me with compassion. He ALWAYS reads chart notes of visits, procedures, test results from my other providers, which means he is absolutely current regarding my medical status.

This is a provider I can rely on and trust.

I appreciate that he is direct & honest but not disrespectful. I am a chronic pain patient & he takes my pain seriously. He listens.I am a smoker who has been trying to quit for years. He doesn't hold back on the importance of quitting, but doesn't humiliate or demean me. He acts like it's a medical issue rather than a character flaw. I've experienced otherwise from doctors. I think it's important to address self induced health problems with clarity, but there's no need to make it a personal indictment. He explains exactly what the impact is on the body & is clear. I need to quit. I have tried, & I've had docs treat me poorly, judging me as not worth helping with other medically because I still smoke. It doesn't help. Dr. Babington had treated It as a serious problem but doesn't make me feel like a bad human being. It's just an example, but a doc should be able to address the medical without moral denunciation.

Dr Babington is a gifted physician! He is compassionate yet practical. He has wide ranging experience that he brings to his practice which greatly facilitates diagnosis and treatment. Lucky to have found him!

I found Dr. Babington to be very personable with a great bedside manner. He explains what he is doing, is not in a hurry, and monitors for pain so that he can inject additional pain medication if necessary. He performed ablations at two levels in my neck a little over a year ago. My ablations have worn off now and I am planning repeat ablations. I will try it next time without sedation. I would not have the confidence to go without sedation with previous doctors who have performed ablations on me, but like stated above, Dr. Babington takes his time and closely monitors his patient's pain, giving additional medication when needed. I saw him when he worked at Virginia Mason on first Hill. I have had about 7 surgeries in my life and I must self catheterize to urinate indefinitely and I have been doing that for 10 years now. I had a bladder sling put in that caused pelvic floor erosion and had to be taken out which caused this permanent injury, as soon as I woke up I could never void on my own ever again. I have neurogenic bladder. I had serious back pain from surgeries that I have had from being a pediatric stage IV cancer survivor. There was a woman intern physician that interrogated/examined me before I even met the doctor. She was asking me questions like 'have I ever shot up heroin' or 'did my parents give me narcotics' and disturbing questions like that. First of all, I had cancer, so doctors prescribed me narcotics. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2000 so it was different then. Plus I was in foster care so I did not have the support of my 'parents'. She was on really touchy subjects and the answer to her question was no I had never used heroin. I was extremely offended. During our appointments he would leave me by myself in the exam room after the medical assistant checked me in for about 10-15 minutes after my appointment before he would even come in! Then he would engage me in questions staying with me for about 5 minutes before he would tell me to do ABC and XYZ. I already had done physical therapy for 5 years and he wanted me to go back to physical therapy, but I take the bus to go to my appointments, and I already have about four other specialty doctors that I have to see, I'm in too much pain to go to physical therapy without any medication. He also told me that he wanted me to establish a psychiatrist instead of getting my meds from my primary care provider so I followed through and got a psychiatrist because he asked me to Even though my medication was fine as it was. All the psychiatric medication in the world was not going to take away my pain! Since I've seen him I had 2 more surgeries including my right ovary removed because a tumor ate it, I carried around an abdominal tumor for many years before it was taken out. Then a septoplasy/rineplasty for nasal bone spurs that was making my chronic migraines even worse. On the 5th appointment he told me that he wasn't going to manage my pain whatsoever. Talking about I'm too young to be put back on medication that I have already been taking for years. I was already on narcotic medication but had to find a new doctor since my last pain management specialist lost his license. Basically what pain management doctors do is when things get messy and when patients get too demanding, they just find a job somewhere else and pass folks along to another doctor. I finally got on buprenorphine pain patches and my life is a lot better now. I feel almost normal again. I think that pain management specialist should be able to prescribe narcotic medication without stigma, I understand that it's not the first option, but if you were already on it for a long time you should not be denied it. He wasted a lot of my time doing multiple appointments and thorough 'evaluations' but would not 'treat' my condition. That happened to me at many places actually before I found a doctor that would give me what I needed. I do paperwork, tests and multiple follow up appointments and endless interogation evaluations, just to be denied treatment! I'm like wow they're getting paid because they're at work, but I'm not getting any better! When I look back at all the doctors that did not help me I am resentful, but thankful to the physicians that are caring for me now. I agree with this other user that left this review. Another person's review said. "He was rude. I gave up trying to talk to him. I also did NOT LIKE HOW HE MADE ME FEEL LIKE A DRUG ADDICT. I will find a different pain management doctor. Best dr ever

I highly recommend Dr. Babington. He is patient and through and answered all my questions. In my experience it is rare to find a good physician. .

I LOVE Dr. Babbington. He takes the time to explain things so that I, as a patient, can understand what is happening. I am so thankful to have "landed" in his practice due to prior providers moving out of the area. It is very obvious that he cares about his patients.

Dr. Babbington has been my dr for a lil over two years now. He is so precise and correct on all of the decisions he has made regarding my healthcare. I am So Very sad that he is leaving V.M., yet I know whomever he is going to, is one lucky facility. He has such an extensive knowledge of pain treatments, without just prescribing narcotics. I trust him entirely with my care for my very rare varicosity condition that is being treated at UW. When the vascular surgeon at Virginia Mason could not help me any further, I was transferred to UW... 2 yrs ago! I chose to keep my pain management care with Dr. Babbington because of his caring team and current/updated medicine recommendations! I don't think a lot of people know they have the option to have a seperate pain management Dr. I highly suggest they exercise their right do so. He is a phenomenal doctor. One of the first to recognize and treat my pain appropriately. While I was going through multiple surgeries and complications, he was always there, and supportive, and genuine. He's extremely knowledgeable and professional but also kind and it's clear he cares about his patients. I have zero complaints.

Went in to see the doctor only and ended up with a physical therapist and about 2 minutes of talking with the actual doctor. Didn't take the time to treat his patient with fairness or out of good faith. I had hopes of getting a decent doctor but ended someone who didn't care. With the 2nd appointment, after he saw my CT scan, he recommend getting an injection. As he promised me before, all the pain would vanish. Afterwards, he was suppose to do a follow up but never did. I never heard from him.
