I did not wait long for my appointment or in the patient room. I am happy with how attentive Dr Apoel and his sraff were to my concerns.

Dr. Apple always takes the time to listen to me and my concerns. He has done a great job at treating my eczema, psoriasis and multiple skin cancers. I have recommended him to my friends and trust him to treat my when family.

Hands down the best dermo. My son had this rash for MONTHS. I could not figure out what it was and get rid of it. I went to his pcp who referred me to a different dermo who did NOTHING. I got referred to a urologist who did NOTHING. And then finally after months I said give me another dermo referral because I know it’s something! We went to Dr. Appel and he immediately knew what it was and fixed it.

Dr Appel is very through and congenital. He is vey good at laying out treatment options and including the patient in the decision process.

Saw the doctor to follow up on a precancerous lession. It cleared up very well. We decided to do an injection instead of cutting. Amazingly pain free and it healed in days! Very caring physician.

I was going to bring my son here to have a wart removed off his finger and after reading the most recent review, I’d rather save my child from the trauma. I was told Dr Appel was a pediatric dermatologist but not the way it appears how he treats his patients

The ONLY reason he will get 1 star is because I have to give a star to leave a review. Dr. Appel is the RUDEST doctor I have ever met. He has absolutely zero bedside manners. The way he treated my CHILD at his appointment was completely unacceptable. My nine year old was getting warts shaved off and Dr. Appel was frustrated with a NINE year old for crying! He told my son and the more he works with little boys the more he realizes why girls have the babies! Most doctors I have seen try to calm their patients down and be encouraging! Not belittle and become impatient with them them for being in pain. IF you do not know how or want to work with children that’s fine, but DONT! He created a very traumatic experience for me and my son. He then threw his hands up and said he was “done” that either the medicine would have to work or he will have to live with warts! My son (who is highly embarrassed of his warts) cried out “please, ok I’ll do it, please” and I turn to him and say can’t you try again? He’s 9 years old in pain he’s upset! And the doctor walks out and says “nope I’m done”. Said he “wasn’t going to put his staff at risk”. Yes my child was upset and grabbing at his knee and begging to go home. But not once was anyone in danger I can assure you that. Maybe if Dr Appel had some kind of bedside manners, compassion and treated him with kindness he would of not been so afraid and acted better. I am disgusted a “Doctor” would treat a child this way. No I am not some dramatic mama, as I see in previous reviews in the past he compared treating a one year old to how he would feel treating a dog. He’s disgusting. Don’t take your children there. Dr Appel is great. He explains things well. I have been seeing him for several years and will continue.

The dermatologist took the time, to do a culture on the bumps of my scalp. To rule out any signs of infections. There wasn't any sign of infection, once the results came back. They called me and told me. I was very pleased.

Good Dr. But horrible staff, no one answers phone, calls back or response to portal msgs, the answer is they’re ‘busy’ ok, will have to see another dermatologist because I don’t know what else to do to book an appointment.

Words can not even explain how amazing Dr. Appel is! From the very start he was understanding, caring, and calming. I recently had a Basal Skin Cancer procedure done by him. Needless to say I was so very nervous, however Dr. Appel and his nurse "Michele" calmed me from start to finish. He listens, he takes his time, he is calming, and gentle. Dr. Appel has taken exceptional care of me for many years. He was my Dr, I moved away, then moved back. Upon returning I requested Dr Appel again. I trust him completely.

My husband went to Dr. Appel 2yrs ago for a derm problem. Last year he followed up with Dr. Appel and scheduled a yearly skin "check". I decided to also schedule a yearly skin check as well. I have found Dr. Appel and his staff very friendly. Dr. Appel has a very good bedside manner. He listens to you. His staff is just as nice. His CMA, Cassandra was also very helpful and caring.

Went for a routine body scan and found his staff to be wonderful and polite. Dr Appel was very thorough and answered all my questions. The wait time was fine and although they were in temporary quarters, I felt the office was clean and organized. Certainly a great visit and will see him next year!

A great dermatologist, he’s been fixing my skin issues for a while now, hated him the first time I saw him few years back and went to see someone else, but had to go back because I live nearby and it’s convenient, and I’m glad I did. Last year I went to see him with horrible breakout and hives and few months later, my skin cleared out, he’s very knowledgeable and will answer your questions. My wait times are basically minutes, I had troubles scheduling appointment because nobody ever picked up or called back, then started communicating with his nurse over PatientPORTAL, and she’s actually very responsive. One note, he doesn’t give you the time or privacy to change clothes during exam, and asks to lift a shirt or pull pants, it sounds horrible but it didn’t make me uncomfortable, however I can understand why ppl complain about his bedside manners. He’s bit cold and dry, but he will grow on you and he will fix your skin. Doctor Apple has been treating me for psoriasis for approximately 5 years now. he is by far the most knowledgeable that I have come across , and I would highly recommend him to friends and family members.

Have been going to Dr. Appel for many years. He is very professional, appointments are always on schedule, hardly have to wait. Gives a very complete dermatology examination, attentive to your concerns and questions. Makes recommendations and referrals when needed.

You'd be better off ANYWHERE else.

Please please do not go to him for pediatric, I had my one year old’s birth mark checked and after waiting one hour past our appointment time for our appointment my daughter was a little squirmy (again, she’s one) he proceeded to say “now I know how veterinarians feel trying to check dogs.” And “this is why you give them Benadryl for appointments like this.” I will never go back and will look for a doctor with better bedside manner next time! My insurance ended so I had not been in for my month check up but I had surgery and had been off my humara during that time so I had 3 pens that got ruined in the hurricane, I called the manufacturer to get reimbursed and they just needed a one time perscription so I could get my replacement, when the nurse or whoever called she was rude she didn't want to hear what I had to say only about how I missed my appointment and needed to make another. Where is compassion these days she could have told the Dr what was going on, but obviously money hungry and not understanding that I just lost my insurance she said well I'll see and then never followed up with me. I will not be going back, that medicine was paid for and ruined by a natural disaster and all she was worried about was how I didn't come in. I've been twice now. Both times, I wound up waiting 20-30 minutes, and meanwhile people who came in after me were seen before me. One woman, today, had been there maybe two minutes when she was called back while I'd been waiting over twenty minutes already. Both visits, I felt like an imposition. The PA/nurses all seemed to have better/more important things to do. I'd really wanted to TALK to someone, and ask about my scarring and stuff, but everyone was so impatient and in a rush, I just felt stupid. And I was told I'd have results in 10 days. I haven't gotten them. Someone promised to call me this afternoon, now it's about an hour before they close and I still have heard anything and honestly I don't think I will. I left both times wanting to cry, feeling like I was nothing but a bother and my problems didn't matter. Great staff, didn’t see Dr.Appel but, his PA Dr.Bowman was amazing!

Went to Dr. Appel after a black streak appeared under my finger nail and it appeared to be infected. He immediately sent me to have my nail removed and biopsed. It turned out to be skin cancer under the nail that required sugery. I was told by a Dr. at MD Anderson cancer center that this was very rare and Dr. Appel did a get job identifying this condition. Dr. Appel did an amazing job on my issue, and while ten stitches to the cheek are never a laughing matter, a week later the scar is almost healed and it looks amazing. My wife can't tell, and let's be real; that's what it's all about... Thanks, Doc!

Have used him several times, but the billing department is a shame. They sent a syst for pathology, without first checking if that pathology provider was part of my insurance network, and I got a full bill for it. I think that anything done outside of their office, should first be checked with the patient, so we can decide where, when and how that will be done. Be very careful with any dealings with that office

Dr Appel is an excellent doctor...very thorough, personable and cares about his patients. I wish I could say the same about one of his nurses named Michelle. She is extremely rude and unaccommodating. I've never been treated so badly by a medical "professional" before and it was very unsettling.
