About James Thomas Albright
Reviews for James Thomas Albright
Just an amazing ENT!! Someone I can always trust with my kids with his professional advise. I can never forget how patiently he described everything and answered all my questions to make a mommy heart feel comfortable about my son’s condition. He took his time to call me back several times to make sure that I could personally talk to him! It’s very rare to find doctors like this who genuinely care these days! We know Dr. Albright for almost 13 years and he always gives you the best advise! We had unfortunately met another ENT couple of years ago when we couldn’t see Dr. Albright, who wanted us to go through some unnecessary procedures with our son so they could claim money from insurance! People like them need to stop playing with people’s families, lives and quality of life by forcing them to go through unnecessary procedures. But Dr. Albright, actually takes his time to examine everything before coming to the best conclusion he can! I would strongly recommend him! Just an amazing ENT!! Do yourself a favor and ask to schedule an appointment BEFORE surgery because if you unknowingly make an appointment that is after he is in surgery there is a good change that your appointment will be rescheduled for over a month later!
TLDR: Phenomenal surgeon, not pushy, uses the most up to date scientific recommendations, generally quite friendly, excellent recovery and follow up. A bit more compassion/patience for scared kids would be appreciated. Dr Albright did our son's first set of tubes when he was 9 months old and we were running out of antibiotic options. My son's tongue tie was also addressed during the surgery. I don't think we even had time between when our son was taken back to drink our coffee before we were called back to recovery. The recovery was incredibly quick and uneventful. The tubes were functioning until just after my son turned 3 at which point they fell out naturally on their own. I appreciated Dr. Albright's medical knowledge of how the tubes function and what you can and can't do with them in place. Namely, he said there was no problem with my son swimming, taking a bath, etc. So he was able to continue his swim lessons, go to the ocean, etc. with zero problems. It helped ease any anxiety I had while the tubes were in place. Within 6 months of his first set of tubes falling out, we were back seeing Dr. Albright because of chronic ear infections and some hearing deficiencies in our son. This time tubes and adenoid removal were recommended and we agreed. Again surgery was a breeze and our son was happily eating lunch just an hour and a half after surgery. His hearing issues were temporary were resolved before the first post-op appointment. The only issue we ran into the second time was that after the tubes fell out, they got stuck in my son's ear canal in his ear wax. They had to be removed with a 4-5 inch long tweezers that look more like a needle than anything. This leads me to my ONLY complaint with Dr. Albright. He was expecting my not quite 4 year old to sit still while he retrieved the tubes in his ears. My son has White Coat Syndrome among other challenges and we had to hold my son down for the procedure. Dr Albright's attitude regarding my son's behavior wasn't exactly friendly. I had told my son that I was sorry it had to happen, but it was necessary for his ear to be healthy. Dr. Albright said, "No. You shouldn't be sorry. It is necessary. No reason to apologize." I was trying to let my son know that I understood it was scary and uncomfortable, but it had to happen. I didn't appreciate being berated for comforting and showing empathy towards my son. I didn't say anything at the time because I don't like confrontation. However, I realize my son screaming and fighting to get away isn't an ideal situation. I certainly wish he would sit still and be quiet while Dr. Albright discussed treatment options. But that isn't something that my son could manage at the time. I know it seems dismissive and disrespectful to a busy doctor with a full practice. A bit more patience and less judgement would be appreciated though. All things considered, I would still go to Dr. Albright because of his skill, excellent follow up and the efficiency/friendliness of the office staff. Dr. Albright is the best ENT!! Down to earth and friendly. Removed an overdue ear tube during an appointment and saved us the money and trouble of removal procedure under anesthesia in OR (offered by Texas Children’s ENT). Follow ups were efficient and hearing test personnel are all very nice and good at approaching kids.
We love Dr. Albright - he was so helpful with our son's ear infections, and he only recommends surgery when it's necessary, which is very important to our family. He and his staff are very friendly and organized as well.
Dr Albright has been really helpful with our son's ear infections, which are no longer an issue. He only recommends surgery when it's necessary and takes a lot of time to go over options. His staff are very polite and organized - we always have a nice visit with him. When my son did have ear tube and adenoid surgery, it was successful and very fast. Definitely recommend him as do other pediatricians we have met with.
Dr Albright is an excellent doctor. Both kids had adenoids surgery and it went so well. I Really recommend him for his great work and experience.
my daughter had ear tubes and adenoid surgery with Dr Albright and will be going in for a second set of tubes again. Great staff and is always ready to answer any questions or concerns. He is also very punctual which is a must when you have little ones...

Dr. Albright was okay. Not great. It surprises me that he works with kids because he showed little patience when evaluating my 2 year old after he implanted her ear tubes. I believe doctors who work with children should expect a child to scream after she has been poked and prodded so many times. We have found a new ENT.
Dr. Allbright is great. He performed the ear tube surgery on our son.
He has been taking care of my daughter for 13 years, he is a very caring, thorough and compassionate MD. I wish we could clone him, my daughter and my family love him and thank him for all he's done to help our daughter.
My son has autism and hates getting his ears checked. Dr. Albright is really patient and extremely understanding. I love how he knows I need help to hold my baby boy to get his ears checked and calls his wonderful staff to help. My sons ear tubes went well. He is definitely an amazing doctor and his staff is extremely polite
My 14 month old son had been suffering with ear infections for months and it was time to do something about it. Dr. Albright was great with us and gave us his honest opinion about putting tubes in my son's ears. He didn't push us one way or anything but let us decide what was best for our family. The actually process of getting the tubes put in was extremely painless and my sons recovery was quick and easy. I would highly recommend their practice if you are looking for a good children's ENT. His office was clean and staff was nice, but his bedside manner was awful after my son's surgery. He didn't explain medical things in depth at all.

We felt rushed by Dr Albright and like our questions were dumb. Also the clinic staff seemed inconsiderate of a newborn by slamming doors, talking loudly, and super noisy waiting room. We won't return.
Dr. Albright was just amazing from start to finish in helping with my daughter needing her tonsillectomy. Very friendly, knowledgeable and comforting. Would definitely recommend him to anyone.
Both of our children have had their tonsils and adenoids removed by Dr. Albright and all went smoothly. He is a great Dr.! He really takes his time to answer any questions and couldn't be any kinder to the children. We highly recommend him!

I have scheduled adenoids removal surgery for my son with Dr. Albright. He did gave us enough time before and after surgery to discuss and clarify questions.
Zero lack of regard for his patients time and getting a hold of anyone on his staff takes an act of God. Once you actually speak with Dr. Albright he is a very nice guy and answered our questions. On the day of surgery for our daughter her appointment was at 2:15pm, we did not see Dr Albright until 4pm!!!
