I wouldn’t recommend him. He is desensitized from the disease, and patients are more or less just statistics. I watched him, one appointment after the next, approach my father’s care without an open mind, a real plan, ambition and true thought into his disease. He wasn’t open to additional scans (although my father has insurance) on self-admitted ambiguity he had about possible Mets to other places. He is not what his resume reads. He has one foot out the door and isn’t patient invested.

This is the most excellent and caring doctor I have ever encountered (I am 62 so have some experience....). He was my husband's doctor while he battled cancer for 3.5 years. He was empathetic, caring, knowledgeable, diligent, friendly, respectful, attentive, MODEST, and never stopped trying to cure him, even after we all knew my husband would die of the disease. His staff is wonderful also Dr. Abbruzzese also paid attention with my husband's quality of life, which made a huge difference in his final year of life. I could not think of a better physician.

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Dr.James Abbruzzese treated him over the course of five months. My husband and I knew he was under the care of the top doctor in the country. Dr. Abbruzzese is caring, compasionate, and a wonderful human being.
