Jamal Mubarak

Unimpressed, agitated if you ask questions or say anything while doing his typing of your report on computer after asking you a question. I do not think I will remain a patient.

I was referred to this doctor by my primary care doctor and I wish I would've just stayed silent. Dr Mubarak is the rudest, most arrogant, pretionious doctor I have ever had the displeasure of being "treated" by. He made my whole visit seem like an inconvenience. He was very short and aggressive with me. When discussing if I had any issues with weight gain/loss I had told him I had experienced quite a bit of weight gain over the past year and when I told him how much his response was "Oh my God!!". He told me that all my problems would disappear if I would just lose weight. He said "what do I have to do to make you lose weight?" And I told him that I am trying and he said "you're the only one who can make that decision. You have to be the one to put in the work, nobody else can do it for you". And I was like....yes, I'm aware. Also, in my consult with him we went over how my birth mom passed away at a very young age. When I was reviewing the copy of his visit summary, he wrote "mother was murdered". This man has NO tact. So distasteful. Also during his physical part of the exam, he had mentioned what he was doing before he did everything; (i.e. I'm going to listen to your heart, let me check your ankles) but when he went to check my breathing, he just shoved his hand inside my shirt with no warning. Felt a little invasive and unexpected. I left this appointment feeling so frustrated and defeated with no real answers because all he really said was...okay well I guess you probably have sleep apnea so we'll put you on a CPAP machine and hopefully you lose weight or you'll be on it for the rest of your life and come back in a month for follow up. I have pneumonia. I went to the emergency room. They recommended this doctor for follow up in 2 days. Today is Friday his office closes at 12:30 p.m., I called at 12:10 p.m. to see about scheduling a follow-up. This very rude man answered the phone and yelled at me for calling after hours, and then he hung up on me. I called to leave a message for the nursing staff and a complaint about this person answeing. Come to find out he was the doctor! I will never go see this doctor, and from reading all of his 1 star reviews, it's very obvious that he doesn't care about his patients. Luckily, Denton has plenty of pulmonary/lung doctors. Had my first appointment just now. Office staff was very nice and professional. Dr. Mubarak was very professional and informative. Told me what was wrong and how we are going to approach fixing it. Did a very thorough medical history. Couldn't be happier with my experience.

I didn't even get to see this Dr yet, thank goodness. I was recommended to him by the hospital. I called at 12:pm, they are supposed to be open until 12:30pm. A man answered the phone and yelled at me for calling after hours, when I was told they're open till 12:30. First time I ever called. Oh yeah I have pneumonia right now. I called back to try and schedule an appointment and complain about this person that answered the phone. Come to find out it was the doctor that answered the phone and hung up on me! Don't go to the doctor. He doesn't care about his patients. I do not recommend ever. If you have lung disease or something wrong there are so many other lung doctors in North Texas. Stay away from this guy! Reading all of his many one-star reviews, should give you an idea of what other people's experience have been like.

Dr. Mubarak treated my dad in the hospital for COVID (he was there for 4 months) and his after care and follow up have been absolutely horrible. I have repeatedly tried to get an appointment scheduled as he needs a bi pap machine at home. After getting the runaround from Anita the office manager For 2 weeks, I told her how unprofessional their office practices are, she told me to find another doctor. I called back to speak to her and she blamed me for the lack of communication and then hung up on me. I have been dealing with doctors offices, mainly pulmonologist’s offices for 25 years for the care of my chronically ill child, so this is not a foreign topic for me and I have honestly never been treated so poorly by any doctors office staff like we were treated. After reading several of the other reviews, it is apparently their common business practice to treat patients and their families so poorly. I would not recommend this doctor or his office to anyone... EVER!

He almost killed my mom by misdiagnosing her lung problem. He was the worst Doctor she's ever had, and I'm grateful she was transferred to Dallas & great doctors saved her life.

I have serious lung issues; Dr Mubarak was the worse doctor I have ever encountered. He was assigned to me in ER. He was not knowledgeable about my pulmonary issues or current treatments I needed. I was finally transported to my regular Pulmonologist at Baylor Dallas who was able to provide the care I needed. A doctor's personality and bedside manor is not by first priority, but he is lacking on all counts.

Excellent pulmonologist, did the most thorough pulmonary exam I've ever had, professional and courteous to me and my husband. Observed COVID precautions thru out office, procedures and exam. Courteous office staff and nurse. This is the first time I have been given a PRINTED copy of exam, procedures done, expectations, exams to be performed later and return dates! Appreciate the care given during my visit and feel he was completely focused on me

Worst Dr I have ever seen. Every single bad review is spot on. He is rude and arrogant. Stay away at all costs and for God sakes, do not see him if you've had Covid and are dealing with breathing issues. He'll tell you it's anxiety and all in your head. You may suffocate and die, but by God you'll walk out of there with Lexapro to save the day.

He dismissed anything I said or asked nor did he believe anything I said. He treated me like a subhuman. He misdiagnosed me with asthma when I had a carcinoid tumor in my left lung (diagnosed by a different pulmonologist). Worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. I am a RN with 30+ years of dealing with doctors so I know when I’m being dismissed.

Very good, I have seen him over 20 years and he is typing on his computer your conversation for his records not just playing on it and he is hearing everything you say. He is a very professional doctor.

Dr. Mubarak has seen me twice in the hospital. He’s very thorough and that’s what I expect from my doctor. I am very happy with his treatment and have my appointment made to see him in his office. I’m not looking for a friend, but a good doctor to treat me and keep me well. He’s the one!

Do not let your PCP refer you to this "specialist". My asthmatic husband made 3 visits and each time the "doctor" spent the majority of the visit looking at his smart phone and barely paying attention to him or what he was saying. He pretty much said, "there's not much I can do for you". He didn't even try to fully diagnose him. In the end, my husband ended up back with our PCP who finally figured out what was causing his symptoms. Dr. Jamal Mubarak seems to not give a crap about helping people, IMHO.

My experience with Dr. Mubarak?...The absolute worst I've ever had. We all know Doctors can be arrogant & rushed. But this man takes arrogance, rudeness, condescen to the extreme. My dad went on life support under his "care" & all he did was blame my mother, me, & every Doctor in the North Texas Region while sipping his coffee like Bill Lumbergh in Office Space. This guy was incapable of answering ANY questions but used them as his soapbox to hurl insults at his peers to make himself look good. My experience dates back 6 yrs. I recently had to revisit the same hospital & my unhealed memories resurfaced. I shared my experience without naming him out of respect. To my surprise, everyone at the hospital NAMED him on their first guess. No one likes him. They are forced to tolerate him. Who wants that kind of person on their health team.

Going to this specialist was the worst experience I have ever had. He was completely dismissive, rude and condescending. He took phone calls during my apt and kept exiting which lead to him having to repeat questions and me having to repeat answers. Went to another doc in Plano and gave me way better care. Rudest doctor I have ever met in my life. I couldn't believe some of the questions he asked me in regards to my gallbladder and hysterectomy and looked at me like I was stupid when I answered. Even saying "Really?" Then telling me not to talk about my grandfather lol So glad I never have to go back to him.

This is the rudest doctor I have ever met in my life!!! He was assigned to my daughter when she was admitted into Medical City Denton with pneumonia in both lungs. He treated her like she's worthless. I would hate to see how he treats patients on government assistance or no insurance at all. If I could give negative stars he would get a -5. He tried to kick my daughter out of the hospital at 10:00 tonight when he told her last night he wanted to keep her a few more days because her lungs haven't cleared enough to be released. My husband is in the hospital right now and Dr. Mubarak is taking care of him. Very impress with his knowledge and competence level. I trust him 100 % with my husband health.

I have been going to Dr. Mubarak for about 11 years. His office is always spotless. He is a very intelligent and caring. He is my doctor not my friend. His staff is excellent they have always gone out of their way to assist. The staff in This office are amazing. Courteous and knowledgeable. I will miss dealing with them. The doctor is not comunacative. He spends a lot of time on his laptop. He insists on seeing the actual tests from ct and pet scans but then cannot see the images on his computer. He does not discuss your situation at all. I had to drag information out of him. He is arrogant and dismissive. Also rude to his staff in front of patients. I'll not be returning.

If you're looking for someone to jump to conclusions without any testing, Dr. Mubarak is your guy. He also garnishes each visit with a lack of urgency and condescending behavior. It's not just a personal experience, several of our nurses helping to treat my brother genuinely dislike him as well. If you're looking for treatment I'd suggest looking elsewhere. His"God like" complex, arrogance and lack of important information at crucial times is enough to deter anyone with genuine concerns or health problems. Following a stay in intensive care for respiratory failure, it took an unusually long time for Dr. Mubarak to read results of the performed sleep study, and sign off for a much needed Cpap at home. While in intensive care Dr. Mubarak did a fine job of providing appropriate care. Dr. Mubarak is not a very personable physician but is highly competent. His staff appears to keep him on task.
