Endo patients do not waste your time! She is cold, rushes you, and doesn’t listen. After asking several times for her advice, she only could give hap-hazard wishy-washy responses with zero evidence-based guidance. I went to Arruda last summer after seeing an obgyn who recommended I remove a fibroid and the ovary it was on. I went to her because she appeared to be skilled at surgery and knowledgeable enough to provide more information on my diagnosis. I remember that she asked if I was going to have both ovaries removed and seemed somewhat hesitant about this. However, she didn’t provide any information or education on what the loss of both ovaries would do to me. I was under the impression that I was just preventing any future ovarian cancer. She removed both ovaries along with the fibroid. She gave me no information on how the complete drop in estrogen, progesterone and testosterone would wreak havoc on my body and my health. I had just put my trust in the idea that she, as a doctor, would tell me what I needed to know before and after this surgery. 1st off, she should never have taken both ovaries. Any decent doctor would know this and educate a woman to make this choice at the very least. Then, even after removing both ovaries, she didn’t mention anything about hormone replacement therapy. No explanation of what would happen to my weight, with a huge, unhealthy accumulation of abdominal fat. No mention that my sex drive would die, cognitive function would be affected. No education on the long term increase in coronary heart disease and greater increase in overall chance of death by a variety of causes. I am so angry that this single, irresponsible person has taken so much from me by her complete neglect and carelessness. Beware these doctors. They love to do surgery above all else. Jaime Arruda did not take care of my immediate or long term health. The only thing I can say for her is she cuts well and can perform a “successful surgery”, but this was in no way a success. Dr. Arruda is a highly trained and skilled OBGYN specialist. She performed a laparoscopic procedure. I had no complications and a smooth recovery.

First visit with Dr. Arruda she was very nice and patient with me. I tend to freak out at doctors visits and she showed genuine care of my emotional state and well being. Her nurse was very good too. There is a woman who works there at the scheduling desk named Melanie. She is so sweet and has such a big heart. She went out of her way to talk to me and help me feel more at ease with my situation. I sent over three years of patient history to Dr. router before my initial visit. These records included three laparoscopy surgery is for endometriosis plus information about a clinical trial that I participated in. After talking for a couple minutes dr. Arruda asked me “ if I was sure I had endometriosis “ I couldn’t believe it. Why did I gather all my records for this doctor to obviously not even look at them? She proceeds to offer a treatment plan that I’ve alresdy tried. Which she would have known if she knew anything about me and my condition. I understand this doctor sees patients with cancer and has more urgent cases so I gave the benefit of the doubt and started the treatment plan. Today I was in so much pain I couldn’t move. I called her office and the nurse told me she wasn’t in today and to got the ER if it hurt so bad. Last time I went to the Er for this pain they told me to go to a specialist. This doctor has been beyond useless to me. Women with endometriosis deserve better. It’s a complex disease and knowing patients history is essential. Apparently dr arruda didn’t think so in my case. Dr Arruda read my history and provided a second opinion on a diagnosis. She was very knowledgeable on the subject and provided a treatment plan that is helping.

Dr. Arruda has been really great to work with. She was really helpful and explained everything very thoroughly to me at the first appointment and was not in a rush. She has also been really responsive on the portal, answering all my questions within a day- she even called me personally to discuss some questions over the phone.
