Dr Jallo and his team are spectacular. I underwent a Laminectomy C3 to T1 2/8/23. Dr Jallo explained very thoroughly on the first visit the surgical procedure, what to expect post surgery and the anticipated recovery time. Took the time to listen to concerns and answer questions. Day of surgery, his team went over imaging, surgical plan again, and precautions that would be in place following surgery. His staff kept my contact in the waiting room updated every step of the way so she could keep my family informed. They were appreciative. Thank you Dr Jallo

Dr. Jallo literally saved my life , I had pain down my arms and had numbness on my fingers to the point that I would be dropping my phone. A glass of water would just fall off my hand. Also had severe pain on my neck and every time I turn my neck out would hear grinding. And I was losing my balance when I was walking if I bumped into anything , I had 2 other consultation with neurosurgeons doctors and I was not happy with what I was hearing from these neurosurgeons , and when I met Dr.Jallo I felt so comfortable with him. He explained everything in great detail, and gave me my best options. And his team at his office are super thorough and walk me through every step , so after my surgery after 3 to 4 days, I stopped taking my strong medication after day 5 I had no pain just a little sore on my shoulders , I have no more numbness on my fingers. No more pain in my neck no more grinding I have no balance issues anymore , I highly recommend Dr. Jallo

Dr. Jallo has performed surgery on 2 of my family members and he will be performing surgery on another family member in the coming months! Last month he performed surgery on my mother (81 years old) for the second time. She went from months of excruciating pain to being virtually pain free. Make no mistake about it - I was very unhappy about needing spinal surgery and full of worry about all the bad things that could happen. Full disclosure, after months of trying ointments, a heating pad, massage, injections and PT with brief or no relief, surgery was next up. My regular active life had all but ended. From the first appointment in Dr. Jallo's office to the last post surgery telemed appointment both Dr. Jallo and his staff have been nothing but informative and kind. Not a single staff member - be it in person, through the computer or on the phone has failed to ask me how I was doing on a personal level before launching into the necessary medical Qs & As. The day of the surgery I felt relaxed, informed and that I was in good hands. It's clear by the interactions I had with his surgical team before, during and after surgery that he has built a strong team that respects one another and the patient. I had spine surgery performed by Dr. Jack Jallo. The entire process was handled extremely professionally. They surpassed all my expectations. If spine surgery is ever needed again( hopefully not) I will not hesitate to use them.

I had my second cervical spine fusion surgery with Dr. Jallo after being injured in a car accident. Dr. Jallo is a miracle worker. He performed my first surgery flawlessly in 2017. Unfortunately I was injured again in a car accident. Dr. Jallo performed a very complicated cervical spine surgery on me and relieved my pain and fixed my neck so it is now stable. I had reasonable post surgical pain and my stay at the Phila. Jefferson Neurosciences Hospital was an amazing experience. I had an outpatient spinal procedure performed by Dr. Jallo. I couldn't be happier with the professionalism extended to me from the time I entered the office the first time to my final post op visit. Dr. Jallo took considerable time initially explaining his recommendation and showing me my MRI in detail and he did it again when I had my final post op MRI. I always have many questions but he was patient with me and explained it in layman's terms. He has an amazing staff of medical professionals from the hospital and his office. Going into this surgery I was so nervous. I did alot of reading and research and still was uncertain. I had 2 bulging discs that were almost paralyzing me. Dr Jallo's team explained to me everything what needed to happen. I had my surgery two weeks later and when I woke up I felt like a new person. I was never surprised by anything that was taking place from pre op through being discharged. It has been almost three months to the day that I walked into Dr Jallo's office. I have never looked back and everyday I feel better then I ever did.

I was terrified to have this surgery and Dr. Jallo, his office colleagues and the staff at JHN helped me get through this surgery. I had a bi level ACDF 7 weeks ago and am ready to go back to work with no restrictions. I currently have no pain at all. I wish I had expected the level of discomfort that I had. The worst part of recovery was worrying that something was wrong. Once my x-rays confirmed the surgery was a success and I started therapy I started feeling like myself again. I cannot think of one thing that could have been done better from Dr. Jallo and his team.

I needed revision surgery for a failed 2-level ACDF. I went to 3 top Philly hospitals for opinions (aside from my original surgeon.) The reason I chose Dr. Jallo and why I am glad I did: - He did a full workup of tests to make sure any possible complication or contributing factor to my pain could be addressed. - I could tell from our conversations that he did not go by his opinion alone, and that he conferred with other surgeons in his practice regarding the best path of my specific treatment. - He considered ALL possible options for the best outcome of my particular case. The other surgeons I saw stated that they only consider certain approaches for revisions. We went with the option the others would not consider for me. - He didn't make any promises he couldn't keep, and was very up front about what he couldn't promise. Nothing was sugar-coated so I knew what he was telling me was the truth. I am doing very well now and I know I made the best choice for myself in choosing him.

I was successfully operated on by Dr. Jallo 3 times in the last year and a half for my spine. Not only is Dr. Jallo a highly skilled surgeon, but additionally he is so reassuring and down to earth. Dr Jallo is competent, thorough and does not make the patient feel like they are being rushed through.

Both Dr Jallo and his staff took as much time to discuss my condition and the surgical options with me as I wanted. His approach was very reassuring and made me certain I was pursuing the best option available to me. My result was absolutely wonderful. For two months preop I needed to sit in the shower due to back and radiating leg pain. The morning after my surgery I was able to stand to brush my teeth, shave and shower all without taking a break to sit!

Dr Jallo was one of 3 drs recently who have been conscientious & caring enough to figure out etiology of my numerous medical issues & did not hesitate to state the physician dreaded dx. Arachnoiditis .. Thoracic arachnoid cyst/web. I feel I am in good hands & forever grateful..

He performed my ACDF surgery in 2019. I was very happy with him. His calm demeanor made me feel very relaxed about the whole procedure. I recommend him to anyone needing a neurosurgeon!

I went in to have surgery because of a car accident I was in on July 18, 2020. It fractured C1 and it basically took me the period of healing to find the correct surgeon to help me with my spine. The neurologist. The first took care of me and the C1 fracture also had some test done of my spine. When he saw the results he was perplexed because he had never seen what the film's were showing. The 2 neurologist did know what he was seeing but told me he would not touch me. He refered me to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. I called and was given a phone number for Jack Jallo. I went a met Dr Jallo. He was so informative. Knew exactly what I had going on with my spine and was confident he could help me. I left his office feeling very thankful and relieved. Great surgeon, very caring and professional! My husband has had two back operations in the last year. The first one was not successful and Dr. Jallo took the time to listen to my husband and worked out a plan for his second surgery. Dr. Jallo is a superhero who gave me the ability to walk again without a limp and without unbearable pain. He performed miraculous work on a very twisted and damaged spine and was the answer to my prayers when I wasn't sure one existed. Dr. Jallo and his neurosurgery team are a 13 on a scale of 1-10. Do not live in pain or without hope as long as Dr. Jallo, his team, Neurosurgery and Neurology reign supreme at Thomas Jefferson Hospital.

Dr. Jallo performed an emergency cervical fusion on me and a double lumbar disk fusion. His knowledge and skill are extraordinary. He takes his time, made sure I understood what was happening every step of the way, and made sure to include my family throughout the process. I highly recommend him!

I was recommended to Jefferson Neuro because I was in a car accident and my spine was damaged. I saw 2 Neuro surgeons who stated they had never seen what my spine was displaying on films. So I went for a 3rd option at Jefferson and met with Dr Jallo. He put me at ease. He had seen this before! He explained what was happening and what needed to be done. I trusted him right away. I am 6 weeks pist ok and feeling great! I would recommend Dr Jallo and Jefferson Neuro facility anytime.

Dr. Jallo carefully and realistically explained the surgical benefits, risks, and possible outcomes for me. I am a 61 y/o man who is now 6 wks post-op of fusions C5-T2 with replacement/installation of fixation from C3-T2. I have a little discomfort- sporadic muscle spasm, but mostly pain-free at this time without the radiculopathy that was torturing me. Immediately post-op I was amazed at the low level of pain that I was experiencing. Dr. Jallo must have a very light hand in the OR. My hands, which were my complaint--weakness and functional loss--have not really improved a lot (the right is marginally better), but I haven't started therapy yet. I hope for success, but am a realist. I am happy it won't get any worse. I feel lucky that I live in a city with Jeff and doctors like Dr. Jallo. While a scary decision to have spine surgery, having Dr Jallo recommended ,and meeting him put me at such ease. Dr Jallo was so comfortable to talk to, reviewed with me all the mri's and other tests and explained in very simple to understand terms what was wrong, what options are available and what /why he was recommending our course of action. I am 4 weeks post surgery( c4-c7 laminectomy with fusion ) and all is healing as planned. Each day i get closer to the finish line and can't be happier. What a great doctor and team . I am 2 years after L4-L5 microdisctectomy with dr Jallo and the surgery was a failure. I am dealing with so much more pain since the surgery than before the surgery. Before the surgery I had pain in the back of my legs, since the surgery I have to deal with front of my legs as well and nothing helps. What a bad decision from my part and bad work done by dr Jallo. I asked about all side effects including getting worse and I was assured this would not happen. I am in my 40s and I eat very healthy. This surgery is a huge regret.

I am 5 months post-op from a TLIF L5 to S1…a very tough surgery for the patient both mentally and physically. With that level of severity, I recommend going to a hospital like Jefferson Neuroscience for a number of reasons. Dr. Jallo and his support team are excellent. They have the skill and experience to minimize the risk of the operation and they gave me my life back. I was in the hospital 4 days and the nurses and their support staff were very caring, knowledgeable and attentive. The first 4 days post-op are very tough, the staff knows they are tough and will do anything possible to help you. In retrospect 5 month post-op, I can’t thank them enough. After leaving the hospital, there will be need to contact Jallo and his team. When I called, my calls were returned within an hour…Allison was great and listens A+.

I had L4-L5 Microdiscectomy with dr Jallo over two years ago and I regret this every day. Since surgery I have to battle so many more symptoms. Before surgery I had pain bellow my buttocks, after this surgery back of my legs got much worse and also I started having burning pain in the front of the legs. I have hard time wearing pants. I was told by dr Jallo I would be back at work after 4 weeks, and side effect are small, definitely getting so much worse was not mentioned. I am in my 40s with very healthy weight.

Dr Jallo did surgery on my spine for a tumor he is so kind and considerate . His bed side manners are the Best! Dr. Jallo took the time to review the MRI images while thoroughly explaining the state of my cervical spinal cord. Dr. Jallo's solution was cervical laminectomy with spinal fusion. I was very hesitant about having the spine fused. Dr Jallo used the MRI images, spinal models and one of his students to illustrate why spinal fusion should be part of the surgical solution. I m very grateful that he took the time to explain this to me. The surgery by it's nature is very painful. Dr. Jallo's skills, and those of his team, were able to mitigate the pain to a significant degree. I would be doing a great disservice if I did not heap boatloads of praise on the Nursing staff at the Neuroscience Center; especially the 7th floor nurses and students whose angelic work helped me through the first few days of my recovery. Thank you!

I've had surgery twice with Dr. Jallo and both times the results were excellent. My quality of living has increased tremendously! I can't thank him enough for all he as done in the past 5 years. He has always listened to my concerns, made sure I fully understood the procedure, the after care, and always made me feel that I was in the best care possible. I was. The staff and drs and nurse are the highest quality skilled and trained staff in their field. The patient is well taken care of and prepared for surgery and recovery. I am pain free, and my urinary incontinence has been healed as a result of my spinal surgery. I have recommend Dr. Jallo and Jefferson to my friends and family.

I saw Dr Jallo for an issue with my back that I needed surgery for. He educated me on my options and expected outcomes of surgery. He took his time and answered all of my questions. Surgery was a success and I am very pleased with the outcome.

I limped into Jefferson Navy yard with severe sciatic nerve pain that had been plaguing me for years. I would have to wake up to move in bed and find a comfortable spot. My social life was next to none. I was basically a flamingo, standing on one leg because the pain was so bad. I had surgery with Dr. Jallo on 6/13/19. Best decision I ever made was to visit Dr. Jallo. He gave me my life back!! I walk my dogs for miles, I sleep sound throughout the night, I’m going out and enjoying time with friends but the best part is no more pain!!! I’ve never met a doctor that listened to the patient about them. Not just talking about what the procedure will be like, but asking them about what their plans are and what their goals are. Dr. Jallo gets to know you on a personal level which is rare these days.

Dr Jallo was amazing. After seeing three different doctors who gave me three different diagnosis and sent me on my way with no long term fix but pain meds. Dr Jallo explained everything I had in detail and explained the procedure to where I could understand it. He and his staff were very polite and responsive. I would recommend him to anyone. Microdisctectomy surgery wasn’t successful with dr Jallo, I have more pain after than before. I should have been told about this possible side effects instead I heard how common this surgery is and I can be back at work after three weeks, everything so they can get paid.

Dr Jallo treated me for severe osteoarthritis of my spine. He completed a cervical thoracic laminectomy November of 2018. I am so greatful that he saved me further numbness & pain in both of my hands, or progression of loss of use of my hands. Many thanks to Dr Jallo and his team/ staff.

6 month follow up w the surgeon today. 3rd back surgery was the charm! My fusion fused together! Finally!! Anyone needing back surgery go see Dr. Jack Jallo at Jefferson Neuroscience in Philadelphia. Very honest. Expectations are based on probability with no promises. Explains the surgical plan in as much detail as you can handle and answers all questions commensurate with you understanding of medical terms. Honestly explains the unpredictable outcomes verses the predictable outcomes. He came highly recommended from my prior neurosurgeon who no longer accepts Medicare. I would highly recommend Dr. Jallo . I never really needed an urgent appointment so I didn't answer that question.

I saw Dr Jallo for a consult because I was having pain from my buttocks to my foot for several months. I had a large herniated disc L-4 L-5. He recommended a micro dis- ectomy to repair the herniation. I had the surgery and the pain was gone within several hours. My recovery went well and just had my last visit 8 week post op with him and everything looks good, now have to do some physical therapy to strengthen my core. He is a very gentle, kind and answered all my question highly recommend

I went in to see Dr. Jallo and it turned out he wasn't the right type of specialist for my condition, but I wanted to leave five stars anyway because he was an excellent listener and so patient with all of my questions. Other doctors could take a page out of his book in terms of bedside manners. Obviously I can't speak to how he practices medicine, but I can only imagine he's a great doctor as well. I came up from Costa Rica to have Dr Jallo perform my spinal fusion 2/17, and it was well worth it. Being my third orthopedic surgery, I have something with which to compare my experience. He and his staff have been superb since day 1. He put me at ease, connected personally, listened carefully, answered questions clearly, explained everything fully, inspired confidence in his ability to help me. I would heartily recommend him and his team, and will return to him for my next spinal surgery.

I am so pleased Dr. JALLO was recommended to me. He saw the urgency of my case and operated first thing the next morning. He was extremely nice and explained everything to me so that I could understand and was able to calm my nerves. His entire staff was equally as wonderful. I've been hospitalized 10 times and this was my best experience yet.

Dr. Jack Jallo did an outstanding job with my surgery. I have had a very successful recovery. His patient treatment was nothing short of excellent. I cannnot recommend him enough. He made what is typically a stressful and scary experience into a comforting and reassuring one.

Disgraceful contact policy. My husband made a call to speak with him, regarding new onset of pain,(post op several weeks) first call took an hour for the phone to get answered, no response for several hours,made a second call this one took 1hour and 50 minutes before it was answered.Still no return call that day. Left e-mail message that night. Next day only 20 minutes to get the phone answered,same receptionist.He was informed it could 72 hours to get a return call.THIS IS THEIR POLICY-NOT OK
