This was my second annual retinal exam with Dr. Cohen. As with the first, I found the staff helpful and professional. Dr. Cohen was thorough and reassuring. The exam wasn't rushed and time was taken to answer my questions. It was a completely satisfactory experience.

Very professional Dr Cohen my favorite doctor

After three different specialists wanted to rush me into surgery, Dr Cohen presented a more conservative approach that offers me a less invasive option to try. I am so impressed by his integrity and thoughtfulness. He’s an incredibly kind person, easy to talk to and explains things so well. A+!

Dr. Cohen is awesome. I had a retina tear about 11 years ago that he repaired and I can say that I have had no further issues and my vision has been fine since the repair. My annual checkups are always enjoyable as Dr. Cohen is so pleasant and a joy to talk to. Great man!

Moved to Chicago from Portland and needed a new retina specialist. I would 100% recommend for anyone especially type 1 diabetics. Cares for the patients well being first and foremost.

I visited together with my wife for her eyes check up and treatments. Dr. Cohen and his staffs explained her eye conditions and treatment plan in an enthusiastic and easy to understand ways. These professional and passionate approaches made my wife, as a patient, feel more comfortable and confident to her ongoing eye treatments.

Dr Cohen’s staff are helpful & kind. They found a quick appointment for me because I had an issue that worried me. Dr.Cohen was amazing as he always is. He took the time to explain my condition thoroughly. He educates his patients in terms that are understandable. You never leave his office with questions. The hour and a half it takes for me to get to his office, is the best time spent for outstanding care.

Dr. Cohen did my retina surgery several years ago that went well and I continued to go to him for follow up. He has always been very competent, professional, and easy to talk to. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the whole staff. The receptionists and assistants are very kind and friendly. Dave, the technician is very comforting and encouraging throughout the exam. Dr Cohen explained my optical condition in significant medical detail, then spent twice as much time translating the technical jargon into a non professional discussion covering the detail and then engaged in a discussion of what can be done and can’t be done and the best procedure I can follow to keep my eyes from getting worse. I was seen as a consult referral for an aggressive and painful ulceration and infection of my eye. Staff were kind and efficient and the doctor was thorough, letting me know exactly what he found and answering my questions understandably and promptly. Any time I need a retinal specialist I would choose this practice.

Despite a busy practice, Dr. Cohen’s office runs smoothly. Wait time is reasonably short, office staff friendly and helpful. Dr. cohen is wonderful, kind and compassionate. He has provided a variety of solutions to save my eyesight.

I found Dr. Cohen after being referred to see an ocular oncologist by another retinal specialist. I was waiting in limbo for this other ocular oncologist to call me to set up an appointment to be evaluated for ocular melanoma. After a week went by, I took matters into my own hands and came across Dr. Cohen. From the moment I contacted this office till after my appointment, I felt that I was at the right place. His staff was excellent in providing information for me, setting up the appointment quickly and handling my insurance issues. Upon meeting Dr. Cohen, he immediately addressed my issue and thoroughly explained everything to me to help put my mind at ease. I am very grateful to him and his staff for handling my health issue expeditiously and for doing so in such a caring and comforting manner.

Dr Cohen and the entire staff are hugely impressive! Kayle, Dave, Claire and Liz were each friendly, courteous and efficient. And then Dr Cohen could hardly be more impressive -- "bedside manner", able to explain technical matters effectively, willing to hear (& answer) questions and distill complicated stuff into clear answers. Dr Cohen is an extraordinary combination of talent, efficiency, and caring; ... a remarkable physician with world class skills. (Retinal Vein Occlusion, Glaucoma, Detached lens in my case.) Prompt for appointments and good natured, he actively involves patients in explanations and decision-making. Even office staff is pleasant and helpful. One of the best!

I had a vein occlusion in one eye. Even though the treatment involves a needle, his method was quick and painless. After several follow-up visits, he was happy to tell me that everything is perfect and I don’t need him anymore! Everyone in the office is courteous, friendly and professional.

I have dr Cohen since 2013 and would not change the doctor for anyone else. He takes great care of his patients, listens and takes time to answer all the questions. Dr. Cohen and staff was very professional and informative.

Impressed with the treatment I received from him for my macular degeneration. He explained the results of my progress to date. And explained that my eye is looking good at present. Let's wait until the next session to see what the eye is doing then

This is the 3rd time I have seen Dr Cohen after my Retina dr passed after a long illness. I couldn’t be more happy to have such a knowledgeable dr in my corner as I was pretty nervous having to find a new Retina dr after having diabetic retinopathy and had over 12 laser treatments on my eyes.

Having received a grim diagnosis from my opthamologist, I was referred to Dr. Jack Cohen. I was quite apprehensive when I arrived. While waiting to be seen, I spoke with a number of his patients, who went a long way to allay my fears. I then met with Maggie and Claire, who patiently and courteously discussed my diagnosis. Then, Dr. Jack Cohen again spent the time I needed to understand my prognosis and recommendations for treatment. While I wish I did not have AMD, I feel confident that I am in good hands.

Dr. Cohen is a nice guy and all business. He's thorough and efficient. That he is teaching an assistant during the exam gives one a feeling of his academic competence. That is, he's not afraid to have someone look over his shoulder. Plus, the office is well staffed. Very good Dr.
