Dr. Jacek Sakowski

Dr only cares about money. Always says it’s viral, doesn’t care about our concerns as a parent. Never runs any diagnostic testing. Horrible.

Hackettstown pediatrics***. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE**** This message is about dr Sakowski ONLY. Olivia was sick since the Sunday before thanksgiving, she had a sore throat and a belly pain. We went to the doctor that Monday, they did a strep test that came back negative and was told it was viral and there was nothing we could do about it, If she was still not well in a few days to bring her back. She suffered through thanksgiving and the weekend and come Wednesday she woke up with the SAME symptoms plus a fever. Dave brings her back to the doctor 10 days later and they repeat her strep test and send her home with nothing again except it’s viral. They only did the rapid step and did not sent the culture out for further, more accurate testing. They ran no bloodwork, they did not run a urinalysis. And dismissed all concerns of appendix/ pancreas issues and uti issues simply stating she would be in too much pain to move (a uti REALLY?!). I called back asking for antibiotics because when I had called earlier in the week it was stated that we needed an appointment. I was told no. I said I would like to speak to the doctor about it. I got a call back from a receptionist saying no again. I told her that I would like to speak to someone else because I was upset and didn’t want to take it out on her. Once again someone who was not dr Sakowski was put on the phone and simply stated that they would not prescribe antibiotics because the doctor said it was viral. I asked how he could possibly know that because he did not do any other diagnostic testing besides the rapid strep test which is notorious for being incorrect. I was told by my children’s doctors office that If I felt she needed antibiotics I should take her to urgent care. SHE WAS JUST AT THEIR OFFICE THE SAME DAY. The phone call was left at the doctor would return my call which he never did. I received a letter in the mail today dismissing us as a patient. Instead of listening to my concerns as a parent and caring to help my child (who is still not 100%) the doctor decided that she was not important enough to treat and diagnose. This doctor would be out or business If they didn’t accept Medicaid. *my children have not been on antibiotics since my son had a pneumonia that was misdiagnosed by them last February. We were told his chest was clear by then after our 3rd visit there in 14 days due to a high fever.

He is a wonderful pediatrician and my son absolutely loves him. My oldest son is still seeing Dr Sakowski and is hating the thought of having to switch now that he is older. The staff is wonderful. Never have to wait and it's very convenient to get to his office. I have referred several patients to Dr. Sakowski and they all love him as well and are so happy I recommended him.
