Dr. Ivy-Joan Erinma Madu

Dr. Madu's ego results in her failure to listen to her patients! I have Grave's disease and had RAI treatment, resulting in hypothyroidism. I wasn't feeling well even though my TSH levels were within normal limits. I was exhausted, cold, nauseous and had very little appetite. I expressed that I was sure it was my thyroid, but Dr. Madu refused to believe me. After 6 months of suffering I raised my synthroid dose on my own, & within weeks was feeling myself again. I changed to another endocrinologist who explained to me I was on the higher levels of normal & this is quite common. My current doctor evaluates both my labs & symptoms... and most importantly listens to me, the patient!

Terrible experience under her care

I have been a patient of Dr. Madu's since 2007. She's a great doctor, and extremely kind. I wouldn't have another endocrinologist. I would give her 10 stars if I could. Through the years, there have been bumps in the road with staff, but that seems to be solved now, and she was on time to the minute for our last visit.

I am a 4th year medical student that rotated in Dr. Madu’s office for several months. During my rotation, I clearly saw that Dr. Madu had a great relationship with her patients and the staff. Dr. Madu is very kind and truly cares about her patients. She takes the time to listen to their needs and treat each patient with their best interest at heart.

Dr. Madu is very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. After seeing several endocrinologists, I found Dr. Madu and she immediately helped me to get my sugar down and it has stayed down for years. Natalie in the front office is very patient and helpful when it comes to insurance issues. I live an hour away from the office but gladly travel there for the wonderful care.

Dr. Madu informed me on my first visit that she was 90% sure my thyroid goiter was cancerous based solely upon her review of my ultrasound results. The biopsy was performed after removal of my thyroid and results were negative (benign). I went through almost two months of believing I had thyroid cancer because of Dr. Madu's off-the-cuff diagnosis, particularly when the statistics have shown that 85% of thryoid nodules are benign. Given this experience, I would not recommend Dr. Madu.

Dr Madu is a caring compassionate dr. She took time to answer any questions I had for her. After my visit she called a couple of days later to see how I was doing. Her staff is very warm and personable

I was Dr. Madu to monitor my Hyperthyroidism. After my first visit she said it was important that I see her in two weeks yet she was booked four weeks out. Going forward she basically had me show up so she could collect my co-pay. She looked at my lab results and said my numbers were good. I asked what they were she said she will print it out for me, leaving me to review them on my own with no chance to ask questions. Office is old/dumpy and staff very impersonable.
